My Apothecary Jar & A New Vignette...
****************
Do you remember how it was when you were a kid...catching fireflies or butterflies and putting them in a jar? Well my friends, this week I've been catching angels...yep...angels!!! I caught the cutest little angel to put in my apothecary jar! Hehe!!!
*
*****

For those of you who follow my blog on a daily basis...you know that I've been having lots of fun with the apothecary jar that I purchased a couple of months ago! I decided to play today...and this is a new vignette that I made for my dining room table!
*****
I found this 19 in. tall apothecary jar on sale at Walmart...$21! Oh yes, I did the "Happy Dance" on that one! Hehe! I think that this is the 3rd or 4th time that I've redecorated this jar...I've been having so much fun!!!
*****
For this vignette, I decided that I wanted to use white and silver...something light and cheery for Spring! The little angel or cherub came from Hobby Lobby and was marked down to only $1.50...I couldn't believe my good fortune! It is cast iron and quite heavy but ohhh sooo pretty! I folded a white crocheted doily to put in the bottom of the jar...I needed something for the angel to sit on.
*

A Heavenly Vignette...
********
First the apothecary jar...then some greenery for the background...next I added the mercury glass goblets and silver candleholders to each side....and of course we had to have a couple of little birds!
*****
I tied a white ribbon to the lid...I just love this ribbon, it has feathery like edges! I also added an old silver key to the ribbon!
*

My "artsy" photo...Hehe!

So what do you think? Do you like? I just love the "all white" and silver vignette on the white dining room table...and I think these colors look pretty with the red walls!

This next photo was taken when I did a tablescape. I wanted to show you a full view of my red French Country dining room! I have lots of "red to flaunt"! Hehe!!!

Well my friends....I'm just so happy to have you stop in for a visit today! I just love it when you come by!!! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I just love visiting with you as well!!! I hope that you enjoyed my little "angel in a jar" and all of the red, red, RED!!!

Do you have something that you would like to "Show & Tell" about? Or do you have some fabulous red that you would like to share with us? I'd love to see it!!!

Love ya'll,
Chari

I was only gone a week and missed so much on your blog. I'm back now trying to catch up. I need to come back to reread the post on design inspiration and check out the link. Of course, I love the new do for the jar with the cupid, silver, etc. plus your red dining room is superb. I hope to have time before Sunday to figure out the instructions for reposting, so I can participate in your Sunday party. Have a great weekend. Sally

Chari-- To answer your questions----The auction was in Scott City, KS. Auctions like that don't come around very often, but Bob is always searching the internet for auctions. He loves to find bargain furniture to then fix up and resell. Now, about Nell Hill's ---- If you aren't familiar with Mary Carol Garrity, you have to check her out. She has written at least 6 books (type her name in at Amazon). I love her books and style. She has 2 stores in Atchison, KS. and the one in Kansas City. I've been to all of her stores now, and could get lost in there for days. I think you would really like her ideas and stuff. Take care, Sally

Chari,
I love your angel in the jar & all your red. $1.50!!!! You scored girl on that angel. I need me a Hobby Lobby. I cry every time I see one of your fabulous finds from that store & know that I can't get me one. And I love your new blog dressing. I haven't changed mine for a couple of months. Probably sometime this month I will. I will try & remember to post something for Sunday Favorites. I didn't post anything today. Too lazy. I've got to take my step son to the Nixon Library this weekend so he can get some extra credit for his Government class at school so he doesn't fail it. I need him to graduate in 4 weeks. So I probably won't get any projects done around my house this weekend. Oh well, I'll at least have something to blog about next week (the Nixon library). Take care & have a good weekend.
