Hello friends...I hope that you're having a fabulous week!
*
Ahhh...springtime!!! The rebirth of all that has laid dormant during the cold wintery season! There is nothing else quite like it...life in the springtime!!! I do believe that spring has finally come to Colorful Colorado...oh yes, it is still just April and we will probably have a few more cold days but the temps are growing warmer and the cold weather is fewer and farther between!!!
*
I just feel refreshed...isn't spring glorious? Today I have set a spring table for two...simply called "Springtime"! I hope that you enjoy!!!
*
"Springtime" Dining

*
A springtime table set in my French Country dining room.
*

*

*
I just adore all the soft pastel colors of springtime!
*
Today my table is dressed in soft sagey greens and blues. The inspiration...my new salad/dessert plates that I won in a recent giveaway from Diann over at The Thrifty Groove! Thank you...thank you...THANK YOU, Diann!!! I just love my new spring plates!!!
*
If you haven't ever met Diann...you're missing out on a real treat! Diann is just one of the sweetest ladies in Blogland and she has the most delightful blog...The Thrifty Groove! Diann never seizes to amaze me with all of her "thrifty" ideas and tips!!!

*
A Springtime Centerpiece...
*
Well...as I have mentioned before...it's a bit challenging to bring "Spring" and its soft colors into my red dining room! This year I decided to use that beautiful shade of spring green...you know...that pretty yellow-green color. You may catch a few glimpses of it on my buffet in the background of a few of these photos. You can see the "Spring" decor on my buffet HERE.
*
For this "Springtime" tablescape, I opted to use a lot of white in the centerpiece! White always lightens things up! Then I added a few pieces to bring in that pretty soft sagey green and blue color! The greenery brings in just the right touch for a springtime tablescape!
*

*
A sweet white bird inside of a white decorative iron birdcage filled with spring greenery is the focal point for this table centerpiece. I used two white masonary candleholders with off-white pillar candles to each side of the birdcage. On the left side of the birdcage you can see one of my newest treasure finds...a masonary orb on a pedestal! I love the pretty patterned design on the orb! This beauty was on sale for just $2.60 at Hobby Lobby. I also added an old vintage pitcher into the mix...it brings in the soft sagey green color of this tablescape nicely!
*

*
On the right hand side of the centerpiece, I added a wooden block that has a picture of a bird on it. I love the soft shade of blue in the background! A white cast iron bird sits ever so sweetly atop the wooden block.
*

*
Ohhh look...here is one of my new salad/dessert plates now! Hehe! I decided to showcase one of these pretty plates in the table centerpiece by putting it on a stand. It was the finishing touch to my "Springtime" table centerpiece!!! Love the dragonfly!
*

*
The Place Setting...
*
I always like to "layer" my place settings! I used a white charger plate called "Lace" from JC Penneys, a sage green dinner plate, and my new salad/dessert plate! As you can see, the new salad/dessert plates are a nice size. I thought the sage green dinner plate framed the salad/dessert plate nicely!
*
The Dinner Napkin...
*
I found these pretty striped napkins at Pottery Barn last year. The soft blue, sage green, and brown stripes are perfect for this "Springtime" tablescape! A brown wooden napkin ring with carved leaves holds the napkin.
*

*
This set of four salad/dessert plates are called Nature's Garden by Certified International. Each plate has a different "postcard like" design. I just adore them!!!
*

*
Love, love, LOVE the sweet bird on this plate!!!
*

*
The second place setting.
*

*
Another sweet bird! I just love the soft pastel blues and greens on these gorgeous plates!!!
*

*
I set an extra plate in the center of the table for a fruit salad. This pretty plate has a butterfly on it!
*
Ahhh...birds, butterflies, dragonflies...just perfect for a "Springtime" table...don't you think?
*

*
The Beverages...

Tall glass goblets from the Dollar Tree will be perfect for iced tea! A sage green cup and saucer, that matches the dinner plate in the place setting, will be for a cup of "after dinner" coffee.
*

*
Ahhh...another sweet little bird!
*

*

*
And...there you have it...a "Springtime" table for two!
*
*

I am joining in these two lovely parties today...

Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom...Part III

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh my...here I am at Part III of "Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom"! I do hope you're not getting tired of seeing this room! I have shown this room several times on my blog but today I thought I would share a few of the things that decorate the walls of the Tea Rose bedroom. I do believe that this is the first time that I have shown an up-close and personal view. I hope that you enjoy!!!
*
This is Part III of "Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom".
*
If you would like to view...
*
Part I...just click HERE.
Part II...HERE.
*
The Tea Rose Bedroom

*
As I have stated before...this is my step-daughter's bedroom when she is here with us and it also serves as our guest room.
*
The Tea Rose bedroom is one of my most favorite rooms in our home! I love the "shabby chic...garden chic" decor! It usually never sees many changes...simply because I love it exactly the way it is! I will say though...that this room has evolved over time. The many "layers" that you see are due to additions that have been made over the last few years. I guess what I'm trying to say is...that it's not all "matchy-matchy"...but everything seems to come together in some sort of cohesiveness! Hehe!
*
An Old Tole Tray...Above the Window
*
If you look to the right of the bed (in the photo above)...you will see a window. I have an old tole tray, that I found on one of my antique flea market excursions, hanging above the window!
*
*
*
*
*
As soon as I seen this old metal Tole tray...I knew that it would be perfect for the Tea Rose bedroom!
*
I just love the pretty bouquet of roses in the center of the tray...ohhhh, and that beautiful swirly design around the edge! The paint is nearly worn off...it's "chippy and distressed" at its best!!!
*
*
A small writing desk can be found next to the bed. I refinished this desk...added a few cottagey floral swags to the drawer fronts...new glass knobs...and painted it a creamy white! I also refinished the old rocking chair that I found at a yard sale for just $5...painted it creamy white and recovered it with a beige and olive green toile fabric. You can see more of the rocking chair and desk in Part I of "Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom".
*
On the wall, just to the left of the desk, you will find a cherub wall shelf...
*
*
I found this plaster cherub wall shelf on ebay. It was white in the beginning...I painted it pink and then used an antiquing glaze over the top. The picture of the pink roses is a "pen and ink" drawing. The little bunny is a gift from a long time friend who has passed on now. She made some of the most beautiful porcelain dolls! She hand painted the beautiful flowers on the bunny's side!
*
Well...not only do I love bunnies...as you can see (I have several in this room)...but I also just adore cherubs and angels!!! Hehe
*
*
I found this plaster relief of cherubs at the antique flea market. It fits perfectly above the closet doors!
*
Directly across from the writing desk is an old piano.
Yes, I do play but must admit that I don't play very often.
*
*
*
*
*
A wall grouping of some of my favorite pieces!
*
I found the three small plates at Hobby Lobby...I just knew that they would be perfect in the Tea Rose bedroom. The plate on the left has a beautiful blue/lavender hydrangea. The plate on the right has a pretty pink rose...and the plate in the center has a frenchy design of tiny pink roses...sooo pretty!!!
*
*
This beautiful piece was a gift from my youngest daughter! I adore it and think of her everytime I see it! I just love the design and shape of the frame...ohhh, and that bouquet of flowers at the top!
*
*
This is a set of old prints that my mama had framed and gave me for my birthday...many, many years ago! I have always adored these...just look at those precious little girls!!!
*
*
*
*
*
Just a view of some of the pretties that decorate the top of the piano.
*
If you would like to see more...check out Part II of "Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom".
*
*
A crystal candelabra hangs above the writing desk. I love how all the different shaped cyrstals catch the sunlight coming through the window!
*
Do you see the bed and the bed corona in the background?
*
*
A photo of the Tea Rose bed linens.
*
I have had several sweet people mention the wreath that hangs above the
 bed...so I thought I would show a few up-close photos of it.
*
*
I found this beautiful wreath at a local gift shop. I decided to hang it just above the bed. The fabric swag that I wove in and out of the bed corona...seems to frame it beautifully!
*
*
I love the soft pink flowers and little white berries! If you look close, you will also see tiny little seed pearls and lavender glass beads! I have even used this pretty wreath for a table centerpiece! Hehe!
*
*
My Italian Cherubs...
*
I was searching ebay one day when I came across these precious cherubs. They were made in Italy and really are quite unique. They are not plaster but made of vinyl. They feel just like the old vinyl baby dolls! I love, love, LOVE how they are hand painted!!!
*
As soon as I saw them...I knew they would be perfect for adorning the swag on the bed corona!
*
*
I have often remarked...how these sweet little cherubs serenade the dreams of those who sleep here!
*
A Tea Rose Bedroom Mosaic...

Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom...Part II

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Today, as promised...I am posting a little more of my Tea Rose bedroom. Many of you have seen this room before, however there have been just a couple of small changes that you haven't seen. The Tea Rose bedroom doesn't see many changes because I really do love it just the way it is. You know how it goes...when something works...don't mess with it! Hehe!
*
This room is my step-daughter's bedroom when she is with us and it also serves as our guest room. It's shabby chic...garden chic...and chippy cottage all wrapped into one!
*
Please allow me to show you around the Tea Rose bedroom...
*
A Tea Rose Bedroom

*
*
*
*
One of the newest changes to the Tea Rose bedroom was an addition to the bed linens. A new quilt that I found at JC Penneys...for a look you can click HERE.
*
I found this comforter set at JC Penneys several years ago...it was love at first sight! Penneys called it..."Tea Rose"...thus the name for this sweet bedroom!
*
*
Beside the bed you will find a small writing desk and a comfy old rocking chair. I wrote a little more about these pieces in yesterday's post...if you are interested.
*
A Desk Top Vignette...
*
I know that many of you have already seen this little vignette that resides atop the writing desk...but I can hardly show the Tea Rose bedroom without it!
*
This sweet little teacup lamp was a gift from my dear, sweet friend Gloria from Happy To Be blog. She made it just for the Tea Rose bedroom! It's perfect...don't you think? A couple of little white bunnies keep the teacup lamp company! The bunny jewelry box was a gift from my honey! I just adore the delicate pink roses that embellish the bunnies!!!
*
A New Vignette in the Tea Rose Bedroom...
*
On the opposite side of the room from the writing desk is an old piano.
*
Recently I had very special guests come and stay in the Tea Rose bedroom...Cindy and her husband Dan from Applestone Cottage. Since guests were coming, I decided to freshen up this little vignette on top of the piano by adding a few new items.
*
*
This really is a "girly" room so I hope that Dan didn't mind staying here too much! Hehe!
*
A couple of my porcelain dolls are showcased! The doll in the burgandy dress (on the far end) was a very special Christmas gift from my late father-in-law! I will always cherish her!!! The other doll in the beautiful off-white lace dress was a gift from my step-children! Isn't she lovely?
*
*
This exqusitie glass carousel was my very first Christmas gift from my honey...and it plays music! I just adore it...and I also adore my honey!
*
Do you see the pretty teacup pin cushion? It was a gift from my sweet friend Cindy from Applestone Cottage blog. I tell you what...I have been blessed with so many sweet friends and family...and they all spoil me rotten with such lovely gifts! Hehe!
*
*
Front and center of this piano top vignette is a cherub planter. I used my pedestal cake plate to elevate it...so that it would have more of a presence! The cherub planter is filled with a bouquet of miniature tea roses.
*
I just love my pedestal cake plate...found it at TJ Maxx for a real bargain of $9.99. I wove a light green ribbon through the cut-outs in the plate...sooo very pretty!
*
*
Ohhh myyy...just look at those delicate roses that sit at the feet of the cherub!
*
I have to tell you...these sweet little roses just may be my best find this year! Aren't they gorgeous?
*
They aren't real...and they aren't silk...
*
Would you like to take a guess at what they are made of? Hehe!
*
I found these gorgeous roses at the Dollar Tree...a box of nine for just $1! They are soap flake roses! Yep...can you believe that? They can be floated in a bath...soap! They have a wonderful scent to them as well! I think they look sooo pretty!!! I love the soft pastel colors...pink, lavender, and peach! They also had packages of sagey green and yellow roses...and packages of all white roses!
*
*
*
*
*
Ahhh...another sweet little cherub! She is just to the left of the pedestal cake plate and cherub planter.
*
*
A couple of "artsy" photos!
*
*
Well my friends...I hope you enjoyed the new vignette in the Tea Rose bedroom. It's such a pleasure to have you stop by for a visit today!!!
