A New Sunday Meme???

"Sunday Favorites".... A New Sunday Meme?

Hello my friends! I hope that you're having a super Sunday!

I'm trying something a little different today. I thought that it might be fun to dedicate Sunday to a "re-run" of a favorite blog post! As bloggers, we oftentimes have a favorite post that we've really enjoyed blogging about, however it seems to get buried or forgotten about amongst the many other posts that we've published. In light of that, I thought it would be fun to do a brand new Sunday meme..."Sunday Favorites"...where we can repost a favorite! Many of you have been blogging for years and you have published some really great posts...it would be so nice to share them again!

and....

I don't know about you but sometimes my weekends get pretty busy and I'm not always able to post...so participating in this fun little "Sunday Favorites" meme would be a "quick fix", so to speak, in helping to get a weekend post published! All you need to do is choose a favorite blog post and republish it! I for one, would love to share some of my favorites with you once again and I would just love to see some of yours as well!!! Keep in mind, that there are many new-comers to blog land that have probably never seen many of your posts! I know that each day I find new blogs and what may be "old news" to some...is brand spankin' new to me!!!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to give this a try...I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think...

Would "Sunday Favorites" be something that you would be interested in participating in???

Anyway, without further ado...this is a post that I shared last month! Hope that you enjoy!!!

Tablescape Thursday...

Hello my friends! It's time for Tablescape Thursday...hosted by our very own Susan over at Between Naps On The Porch! This fun filled Thursday event has really become a tablescaping lalapalooza! Why don't you hop on over to Susan's place and see what she has today and while you're there...you'll find a list of all the tablescaping participants...you won't want to miss out! Just click HERE to get over to Between Naps On The Porch.

Last week I dropped by a couple of our local dollar stores and found some really pretty tablescaping items. So today, I present to you... "The Dollar Store Tablescape"!

"The Dollar Store Tablescape"

***************

I must admit that we still have snow on the ground...and I have Spring fever! With thoughts of warmer weather, Spring flowers, and bright vibrant colors in mind...I found these cute little bright green and aqua dishes at the Dollar Tree...and thus a Spring tablescape was born! Just a little note...if you enlarge the photos you will be able to see all of the sweet little details.

A Spring brunch for two...

The Centerpiece...

A milk jar vase filled with aqua sea glass and white wild flowers sits in a white wicker tray...along with a few napkins, a candle, and a couple of pears. Two sweet little bird nests sit atop masonary candleholder urns. I found the nests at Dollar General for $2.98 ea. In front of the wicker tray are a few more wild flowers and white daisies with a couple of white birds.

I just love the apple greens and aqua colors...so Spring like!

The Place Setting...

My new Spring dishes from the Dollar Tree! The minute I saw them...I fell in love with the bright splashes of color...apple green and aqua on a background of bright white! I purchased the dinner plate, salad plate, and tea cup. Keep in mind, these are from Dollar Tree...so each piece was only $1...each place setting came to a big total of $3!!! Don't you just love it? Hehe!!! I have a set of white Corelle that I borrowed a small plate from to put under the tea cup. It fits right in.

The Linens...

Don't you just love these cute little woven placemats? Another Dollar Tree find...$1! The bright apple green color with hints of aqua coordinate perfectly with the dishes! I had the apple green colored napkins...tied them up with the cutest ribbon I found at Walmart...it's aqua with apple green dots. I added a sprig of wild flowers to the ribbon and napkin and Voila!!!

More Decorative Elements...

Do you see the cute little apple green hobnail glass ???...hmmm, I think it's a very small candleholder but I don't see why we couldn't use it as a salt cellar. There is another one at the other placesetting in aqua. I also placed a couple of light apple green colored candles on the table all wrapped up with that polka dot ribbon. The candles are in the prettiest daisy shaped green glass candleholders. Yes, another Dollar Tree find (leftovers from our wedding)!

How about a green apple? Better get it before little birdie does...hehe!!!

I think that the salad/dessert plate could actually be used for a bowl as well. It has a nice deep rim on it!

The dinner plate...

The cup...

The Flatware...

I found this flatware at Target several years ago...it's called Cambridge! I purchased it because I like the simple lines of it! It's perfect with these "just a tad modern" dishes. Oh look...now you can see the aqua colored hobnail glass salt cellar.

Ahhh...such sweet little blue birds! And if you look real close...you can see that there is a nest full of eggs...ahhhh babies!!!

Ahhh...more sweet birds!!!

Mmmm...don't forget to take time to smell the flowers!!!

Well my friends...what do you think? Have you been keeping a "running total" of monies spent on this tablescape? I spent a whopping total of $13.96...to create this Spring brunch tablescape!!! Yeeehawwww!!! I just love a good bargain!

I'm so glad that you stopped by today! Please leave me a comment and let me know you were here...I just love hearing from you!!! And...don't forget to go over to Susan's place...Between Naps On The Porch!

**********

Love ya'll,
Chari

PS...Please don't forget to leave me a comment on your thoughts about a "Sunday Favorites" meme....
Thank You, my friends!!!

I saw this the first time around it and loved it because I am a huge Dollar Tree fan! What I noticed for the first time is your music all by Eva Cassidy with whom I am not familiar--thought I knew every good recording of Somewhere over..." I like her version! Her voice has an almost haunting quality. ps-I googled her.

Oh Happy Chari - - - I think it is a FABULOSIS idea. Will there be a Mr. Linky so we can check each other's reposts out?

I already have a post or two or twenty in mind to repost.

I mean - - - I've made nearly 900 posts in my bloggy life, so how hard could resurrecting one of them be????

Hi Chari.

First things, first...love your "repost". I didn't see your tabelscape the first time around it is lovely...gotta love Dollar Tree!

2nd, I saw your comment to Martha...you didn't miss the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie. It's one tonight at 9PM ET/PT (8PM CST) on CBS. Hope you can catch it; I know I'm excited to see it!

Finally, I just discovered your other blog and that bedroom makeover is fabulous. Of course, it must have been bittersweet; I'm already tearing up just thinking about packing up beanie babies and Disney princesses! Okay, enough of that...I've still got some precious little girl years left!

Thanks for dropping by and I'll be back often,
Valerie

I also think this is a great idea to share old posts. Since I am fairly new to blogging it would be fun to see.

I love this idea!! But in my computer stupidity, you will have to show me how to repost something. Have you heard from Mary Ellen? She has been gone so long, I hope nothing is wrong. Let me know - you can email me at salmagundiss@yahoo.com. Have a great new week. Sally

Chari,
Thank you for the sweet comments. I will look forward to your post to see what you decide. I am leaving next Sunday right after Church, I am going with our Sr. Group from Church. DH didn't want to go so I am going to be rooming with a beautiful lady who is 80 yrs old and younger in Body and mind than I am...lol..I'm 65 and she makes me feel ashamed. I am so looking forward to it. There are 3 couples and MS. Margie Faye and I. We will have a ball.

Chari,
I think the Sunday Favorites is a fabulous idea. I would love to see others old posts that I most likely missed the first time. Even if I have seen it already as in your dollar store tablescape, it is still great to see it a second time. I always miss things the first time around. So I would be in for Sunday favorites.

Chari that is such vivid table scape you've put together! I have a table umbrella that would perfectly for an outdoor setting. You know all the bad ju-ju that goes with the umbrella opening in the house, which myself I'm not sure if I believe, but how fun would it be to have a Party dedicated to setting up an area indoors that's made to look like outdoors? To much??? Well if you like that idea it's all yours to play with :)))
