Seasonal Snippets...
*
Ohhh...do you know that we only have 35 days until Christmas? I'm so excited...Christmas is my favorite holiday!!!
*
I'm trying to be patient...I mean, we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet! Hehe! So I will leave the dining room, which is presently decorated in all of its Fall finery, alone...until after Thanksgiving! However...I have started a little bit of my Christmas decorating in the living room.
*
As many of you know...I just finished putting in a faux fireplace in my living room and I've just been "bitin' at the bit" to decorate that new mantel! Hehe!
*
I'm not ready for the "reveal" but I wanted to share just a few "Seasonal Snippets" with you....
*
so without further ado...
*
Christmas 2009 at Happy To Design!
*

*
Santa Claus is coming to town...
*

*
I started collecting Santa Claus' about three years ago. I haven't gotten very far...I only have three! Hehe! This Santa is one of my favorites! He looks very elegant in his cream colored velvet robes...trimmed with gold...don't you think?
*
Ahhh...just look at that sweet face! I love his kind and gentle eyes!!!
*

*
And...where would Santa be without his reindeer? Hehe!
*

*
I recently found this set of reindeer at Hobby Lobby. They were on sale for 50% off...yeehawww! I love the burnished gold and that fabulous filigree cut-work!
*

*
Just a pretty French finial amongst some Christmas berries!
*

*
Shhhh...I'll tell you a little secret! I have even started playing Christmas music already! I especially love listening to all the Christmas songs about the birth of Christ...my favorite!!!
*

*
"NOEL"...french for Christmas! This beautiful "Noel" sign is another Hobby Lobby find. I bought it last year...during their "after Christmas" sale. I could hardly wait to get it out this year and use it! It really is beautiful...I love the french scrolled border! It's a nice sized piece...standing about 12 in. tall...and it's very heavy! If I remember correctly, I only paid $4 for it...it was marked 90% off!!! I love after Christmas sales...that's when I buy all my decorations!!!
*

*
AND...I'm giving you a "sneak peak" at my brand new...decorated for Christmas...mantel!!! Stay tuned for the full reveal! Remember...this is about "Seasonal Snippets" today! wink!
*

*
Joyeux Noel...
or
Merry Christmas!!!
*
I know...I know...it's a bit early! Hehe! But...it won't be long now...Christmas is drawing near! Have you started your Christmas decorating?
*
~~~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends...thank you so much for coming by today! I hope that you enjoyed a few of my "Seasonal Snippets"! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I'd love to visit with you!!!
*
Love ya'll,
Chari
Hi, I'm from England and I don't have a 'blog' but I recently discovered yours -as well as a few other beautiful American blogs - and I just wanted to say what an inspiration these lovely sites are!
I do hope it's alright for me to read your blog - not sure if there are any 'rules' that I don't know about. I'm in the process of decorating and I've honestly never seen such beautiful homes as yours and these others - I hope you don't mind me 'peeking' for some lovely inspiration!
Best wishes, Maria, (UK)
Oh Chari, you have some beautiful things. I love the Santa, he's really gorgeous in the gold and white. I think my favorite is the French finial - it's just beautiful. The peek of your mantel is so lovely, I can't wait to see it in all it's finery. Hope you are having a wonderful week. Kathy
I haven't done a bit of Christmas decorating - just waiting until after Thanksgiving. It really looks like your mantel is taking shape - just know it is everything you hoped for!! I did go to the city today to Christmas shop for the grandkids. So much fun to shop for Caitlin - she is tall and skinny and everything looks good on her. Have a great weekend. I've got to get my mind around Thanksgiving dinner - the planning and the precooking!! Sally
I new it would be magical!..,
There's that lovely mantle peeking out at us, just waiting for the big reveal!~ Simply breathtaking is all that I can say!~ Can't wait to see it in all of it's full and respendant glory!!.., I love everything, yet that sign caught my eye!..,
Oh Cheri my dear, your soooo busy; really I often wonder, how do you do it my dear?..,
If you get a moment though, I can assure you that wanting to so kindly see, "all of the art", as you had so generously requested, will not happen all at once, as there's litterally 100's of pieces from my prolific days; you have no idea my dear lady!!~ Yet thanks so much for asking!
I do have a wee little "sneek- peek" of my own, of some of the perfume bottle pics, if you're curious and want to pop over before it gets busy again tomorrow..,
Do enjoy!..., Warm hugs and much love to you, "mon Cheri"
Cheers from Wanda -Lee a.k.a. / Silken Purse
Oh girl you are already going gang busters getting ready for Christmas!! I am loving already the peek of mantel and your Santa is gorgeous.
I think I will regret not starting early for Christmas decor but we are having so many other things happening that I cannot seem to fit it in with the exception of my newest post which amounts to 4 little Christmas items!!
I would so love to buy a ticket to your tour of homes and see it in person!!
thank you SO much for the beautiful message you left for me -you have made my day!
Your blog has inspired me so much, and made me realize that it is possible to create a home which is welcoming and cosy, while at the same time exuding elegance, class and sophistication.
If I manage to make my home even half as stunning as yours, then I'll be very happy.
Chari,
Thanks for coming over & visiting my Santa collection! I either got the one w/ the brown pants at the Charlotte Christmas show either last year or the year before, or at a place called Peppermint Forest (I did a post on my trip there too). I looked in their online store, and it's not shown, but they may still have one, if you're interested. Happy Holidays! Will be back to visit soon.
Everything looks fabulous - and I am in love with the white french finial...wow it's gorgeous!
Kim @ Starshine Chic said...
I'm excited to see the entire mantel reveal. The holiday snippets are fabulous!! I haven't even put up 1 thing for Christmas. I will start on Black Friday since I don't have any money to go shopping. Boo hoo!! I can hardly wait to start decorating. I just hate getting all the boxes down from the attic.
If I don't talk to you before Thursday. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are now only going to have 7 people total. That's the smallest crowd we've ever had.
