"Oh Boy...do I have a mess"!!!

Hello my friends! It's been a few days since I was able to post so I thought I'd share with you...my excuse! Hehe!!! As many of you know, we lost Russell's Dad a few weeks ago and things have been so hectic. Not only are we having to tackle all of the legal things but we also have been having to take care of Dad's possessions. It truly is bittersweet....I'm missing Dad terribly but at the same time it's been such a pleasure to be able to take care of some of Russell's Mom & Dad's treasures!!! Sooooo...the journey begins! Finding a home at our place for all of the family heirlooms!

Most of you who know me very well, know that I'm a very organized person...I'm almost OCD with it...eeeekkss!!! So you can only imagine how all of this disorganized mess is just driving me crazy!!! And....I've been working for days at this and still really can't see the "light at the end of the tunnel"! Of course, I have to admit that with each piece that I unpack, a careful examination...amazed admiration....and then my mind wanders to all of the stories that each piece could tell...well, I think you get the picture! I'm usually pretty slow-going...but because of the circumstances...I've really been slow-going with this project!!!

I took a photo so that you can see exactly what I'm talking about...hehe! This is our breakfast bar that seperates our kitchen from the dining room. I couldn't get one more item on it...even if I'd try! Due to the fact that I'm needing to find a home for these newly acquired treasures....there's been quite a bit of "shuffling" things around at my place. There is the full set of my husband's Grandmother's china...crystal...etc. And....you know my love for dishes...I'm so addicted and have several sets of my own...already! Hehe!!! I just didn't have any room for more dishes....so we brought Mom & Dad's china hutch to our house. Well...talk about the "domino effect"....I mean, where oh where, am I going to put a china hutch? After much consideration, we decided to move Darrin's bedroom downstairs (he was elated...being the 15 yr. old teenage boy that he is...and now he has his very first "man-cave"!) So now I have my very own room on the main floor of the house (not to mention the upstairs houses my studio/craft room) I now have a studio/office/craftroom on the main floor...just so we'd have a place to put the china hutch. Ohhhh my, I think you get the picture!!! One thing...keeps leading to another....and this is how I've been spending my time the past couple of weeks!

Believe me...this area looks great now! Hehe!!! I've already unpacked 5 boxes...this is all that I have left to do....for now!!!

Okay....now you aren't going to believe this...like I don't have enough stuff that I'm already dealing with....my honey took me to Hobby Lobby this past weekend! Oh yes...he's the best!!! Hobby Lobby still had Christmas items...all marked down to 90% off!!! Yeeeeehawwww!!! I was in "Hobby Lobby Heaven"...let me tell ya!!! So I also have my dining room table filled with all of my "finds"....and I have to find a place for them too!!! I know...I know...you're thinking that I must be nuts!!! I AM!!! Hehe!!!

Just look at this sweet little Frenchy "Noel"....it's really heavy and was originally $40...I paid $4 for it...couldn't pass this little treasure up!!!

Ooooh...and look at the pretty little fleur de lis tassels that I found...they were orignally $7.99 ea....I only paid .79 cents for them!

Hmmm...I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these pretty little silver frenchy things yet. Last week Cindy over at Romantic Home gave instructions on how to make your own tassels...maybe I'll try making some with these...I think they'd be really pretty!!! Oh yes, and see the little gold cherub?

Well my friends...as you can see, I've been busy!!! I'm not even sure when I'll get to post next...but you'll know what's keeping me! Even though it's lots of work, I've been having the time of my life!!! I have a brand new studio/office to decorate...and just a little secret...it's going to be done in French Toile...my very first toile room!!! I'll save that for another post! Then there is all of the treasured new dishes...there's so much to do...but I'm having so much fun!!!
Love ya'll,
Chari
