Feathering My Spring Nest...

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh my...here we are already in the month of March and Spring is nearly upon us! I have to admit...here in Colorado...Spring is still "wishful thinking" for us. We are still experiencing some pretty cold temperatures but hopefully the warmer, spring-like weather will be here soon!
*
Today I would like to share a spring tea and tablescape with you. I named it "Feathering My Spring Nest"! I hope that you enjoy!
*
"Feathering My Spring Nest"

*
Here we are in my french country dining room. The white and silver color scheme still resides but a touch of Spring has come to my table!
*
Awhile back, my dear friend Gloria from Happy To Be blog...gifted me with a special set of dishes! I thought today would be the perfect time to bring them out...and create a spring tea table.
*

*
The Table Centerpiece...
*
A white lace table runner makes a nice foundation for this spring-like tea table. An oval silver tea tray holds a few of my favorite things...
*
a white ironstone pitcher filled with creamy white tulips,
a white porcelain cherub,
a few ornate silver candlesticks with chunky white tapers,
a white ironstone cream pitcher filled with extra teaspoons,
and...
two hand blown mercury glass heart ornaments tied up with ribbon.
*
Mercury glass finials, orbs, and goblets are placed to each side of the silver tray...along with a couple of iron fleur de lis finials.
*

*

*
I found a trio of "serenading cherubs" at the antique flea market recently. This sweet cherub is serenading us with his heavenly harp!
*

*

*
A close-up of one of the mercury glass heart ornaments.
*

*

*
The Place Setting...
*
This is the set of dessert dishes that Gloria gave to me. I sooo love this sweet set of dishes...thank you, dearest Sis! Yes, I call Gloria...Sis! I know that several of you have asked if Gloria and I are real sisters. Even though we are not bound by blood...we are bound by soul! Gloria and I first met on HGTV's Rate My Space site...nearly four years ago! We actually got to meet..."face to face" last April in Las Vegas! We had the best time ever!!! And...Gloria and her dear husband Len will be coming to Colorado to visit with us this June! Yeeeehawww!!!
*
"Family Circle"
*
This set of four dessert plates are called "Family Circle". It is a series created by Hector Giacomelli...1875. Famous for his images of birds with human emotions, Hector Giacomelli's "Family Circle" was produced in porcelain...in limited edition exclusively for THT Designs.
*
Each of the four plates has a special theme...signifying the four stages of the family circle. They are sooo very sweet and the artwork is just gorgeous!
*
This sweet little bluebird family is depicted through plate...
*
#1..."Home Sweet Home"
#2..."Tender Moments"
#3..."Little Joys"
#4..."Letting Go"
*
They make for the perfect spring table...don't you think? When I think of bluebirds...I always thing of Spring!
*
This beautiful bluebird dessert plate is setting atop a white ironstone dinner plate and a lacy metal charger plate.
*

"Home Sweet Home"
*
Plate #1 in the "Family Circle" series.
*

*

"Tender Moments"
*
Plate #2 in the "Family Circle" series.
*

*

"Little Joys"
*
Plate #3 in the "Family Circle" series.
*

*

"Letting Go"
*
Plate #4 in the "Family Circle" series.
*
I find this one a little sad! I guess this is where I am at...in the "empty nest" stage of life! I think that Mr. Giacomelli should have made a 5th plate...showing the little bluebird's nest filled with sweet grandbabies! What do you think? Hehe!
*

*
I love the beautiful blues and soft lavenders that were used to color this set of plates!
*

Stemware for the beverages...
*

A white ironstone teacup and saucer that matches the dinner plate.
*

*
Today I am using one of my favorite white ironstone teapots.
*
Manufactured by J&G Meakins..."Classic White" pattern.
*

*
The beautiful lace linen napkins were a gift from Shanna...a very dear blogger friend! Shanna is the author of Revamped French Maison blog. If you haven't ever visited Shanna you are really missing out! She is such a dearheart and she has a delightful blog! Thank you, dear Shanna for the beautiful lace tea napkins...I just adore them and they are sooo perfect for my spring tea!!!
*

*
And there we have it..."Feathering My Spring Nest" tea table! I hope that you enjoyed, sweet friends!
*
*
I am joining these fabulous parties...

*

*
Well my friends...thank you so much for coming by today! Please leave me a note and let me know that you were here...I would love to visit with you!
*
Warmest Wishes and Happy Thoughts of Spring!

As always you've created an elegant, clean exquisite table. All the white with the splash of the birdie plates, perfection. And you're right, the birds leaving the nest is sad. Let's try not to think about that . . .

Chari, you amaze me. If I tried to use all that white and silver with just a pop of color, it would look boring. Yours just looks stunning. You have such an eye for what to group together.

I love those dessert plates, and that table just sets them off.

The bird plates that Gloria gave you are so sweet, almost as sweet as the giver. I adore your whole tablescape, Chari. It's simply gorgeous!...Christine

Chari, nobody does romance like you do! The silver, the lace, the cherubs -- love it! I really love how the lace of the napkins echoes the lacy chargers. And what delightful bluebird plates!

Beautiful photos, beautiful things, beautiful table! You do it so well.

Now, I must know, where can I get some of those chargers? I have never seen any quite like that.

Chari your plates are beautiful, and I had the EXACT reaction that you did when I saw the last plate--how sad! My two are in college now so I suppose I am going to be in that position soon--your idea of the fifth plate would make it a perfect set! Linda

Chari,
This lovely centerpiece and table are beautiful! I love how the silver and white look good no matter what the season. Gloria is a dear heart and funny too. I love, love your little bluebird family plates! They are so sweet. I don't like the letting go either, that is a little sad. We will have an oldest flying out of the nest in a year or so. When he was about three I took his brother and him on a walk and he turned around and looked at our house and said, "We have a cool back home." It has always been our Home Sweet Home. Now I am crying. LOL So nice to visit with you and thanks for linking up!

The white and silver (and blue) all so lovely against your dining room wall color. Have a wonderful weekend and hope you see some signs of spring soon!
