Autumn with Antoinette...A Revisit!

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
As promised...I have another autumn (revisit) post for you today!
*
I am happy to report that my 2010 autumn decorating is going as planned...and I'm having the time of my life!!! Ohhh my...you should see my place...I have autumn leaves, garlands, pumpkins, etc....strung out all over the place! I'm knee deep in autumn pretties!!! Hehe! Hopefully I will be finished by this weekend (yes...I am slow!) and I can begin sharing my new autumn decor with you next week! Soooo...stay tuned, my friends!
*
In the meantime, I thought I would share one of the autumn tablescapes that I did from last year called...."Autumn with Antoinette" from October 21, 2009! I will be joining in with a couple of parties today...you will find the credits at the end of this post! I hope you enjoy!!!

An Autumn Tablescape With Antoinette

"An Autumn tablescape with Antoinette"!

Antoinette is my french girl bust...she will be the center of attention today...of course, Antoinette always thinks she is the center of attention! Hehe! I must admit...she is difficult to upstage! *
*

**
We will be having brunch in my French Country dining room. Nothing fancy...just a small brunch for two!
*

*
Ahhh...Autumn! Autumn in a French Country dining room with a French girl named Antoinette! Can't you just imagine having a lazy-day brunch on a brisk Autumn morning in Paris? *
*
Ahhh...Automne à Paris!
*

*
The Centerpiece...
*
And...here she is, Antoinette, sitting so pretty atop a couple of old well-worn books! She is accompanied by two very sweet Autumn songbirds, two Roseville candleholders with tapers, and a French table tray full of Autumn pears.
*

*
An old French table tray full of Autumn pears!
*
I just love this French table tray! It's made of metal and has an ornate "cut-work" pattern in the sides. The distressed finish adds to its charm.
*
Ohhh...and just look at these beautiful Autumn pears! I love the color of the pears against the charcoal gray tray!
*

*

*
...and here is one of the sweet Autumn songbirds now!
*
I found these two little songbirds at Michaels...half priced at only $2 each! I could not resist!!! If you look closely, you will see that the ornate design that shapes their little wings are made up of acorns and oak leaves!!! The two candleholders are Roseville pottery...this pattern is called "Clematis" in Autumn brown.
**

*
The Place Setting
*
I am layering the place setting...just like we layer for Autumn warmth!
*
First, a woven charger plate...then I used a dark red dinner plate and a matching salad plate from a set that was a gift from my daughters. I added another smaller dinner plate (sage green) in between the red plates....just thought that adding a little green into the mix would bring in some nice contrast! I topped the place setting off with a new purchase...an acorn dessert plate! I found these little acorn plates at the Dollar General for just $1 each. Actually these little acorn plates are very versatile...they could be used for a bread plate as well!
*
I love acorns and nothing says Autumn better than an acorn...don't you agree? Hehe!
*

*

*

*
A better view of the dark red dinner and salad plates. I have had this set for a number of years and they have served me well! I use them often in my red French Country dining room! I have also had the sage green set of dishes for a long time...I think they were purchased from Walmart!
*

*
A cup for a little morning coffee with our brunch! The stemware is a Dollar Tree find...I love the size of these large goblets...great for a glass of milk, juice, or maybe iced tea!
*

*
Sel et Poivre
(Salt and Pepper)
*
Matching acorn salt & pepper shakers! Great buy for just $1 at Dollar General!
**

*
The Table Linens
*
I used an antique gold colored tablecloth that I made a few years back out of a piece of fabric that I found on sale. This is the tablecloth that I usually leave on my table throughout the Autumn season. I love the beautiful "tone-on-tone" embroidered scrolled pattern and the gold is a very deep, rich color...perfect for Autumn! I also used olive green colored, leaf placemats under the woven chargers...again, with lots of layering for Autumn warmth in mind!
*
The dinner napkins have all the fabulous colors of Autumn in a pretty plaid. Purchased at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago...4 for just $4! I tried a different type of napkin fold for this tablescape...it's called a "Diamond Envelope" fold. Something a little different and it has more of a casual look to me...perfect for a lazy-day brunch! The dinner and salad fork just slip right into the pocket of the napkin!
*
For more info. on how to do this type of napkin fold...you can go HERE.
*

*
An "artsy" photo.
*

*
Throwing in an extra photo.
*
I took this photo of the tablescape when I was trying to decide on what to do for the table's centerpiece! It was taken at night...I love the soft glow of the candlelight!!!
*
I first tried the Autumn floral arrangement that I had made for the buffet. It was pretty but then Antoinette started fussing...all in French of course...she thought she should be the center of attraction for this Autumn "lazy-day" brunch tablescape...reminding me how beautiful Paris is this time of the year!
*
"Madame de la maison, vous savez qu'il n'y a aucun autre endroit sur terre comme Paris dans le temps d'automne!" (Lady of the house, you know that Paris is the most beautiful place on earth during the Autumn season!)
*
Antoinette had no argument from me on that point!!! Hehe!
*
~~~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends...I hope that you enjoyed "Autumn with Antoinette"!
*
What a pretty table setting. I really like the bust sitting on the old books. I have not done any decorating for Fall - guess I need to get busy.
Chari, you've been a busy little bee. Everything looks gorgeous.. I especially love the old books with Antoinette taking center stage. I would love to be a guest at your beautiful table.. but alas, it's only set for 2 and I wouldn't want to take Russell's place..lol
Your photos are gorgeous.... I would love to change my banner, not sure what program to use, have any suggestions?
I hope this finds you all doing well your way. We're enjoying fall like weather with a promise of a "huge" storm coming our way, perfect for working in the shop and getting tons done...
thinking of you.. hugs and hugs ~lynne~
