Please Pray...

Hello my friends...I am coming to you today with a very serious request!
I am asking special prayers for my family...specifically, for two of my grandsons!
I am seeking the Lord for His divine intervention...I believe in the power of prayer!!! I know that many of you, dear friends, also believe! So I'm coming to you...humbly...asking for your help...for your prayers!
The Pearce Family

My youngest daughter Jenni and my five grandchildren!

Ahhhh...aren't those just the most precious grandbabies ever?
(from left to right: Ryan, Ethan, Erick, Seth, and Caylee)
Seth Nicolas Pearce

This is Seth Nicolas Pearce...Jenni and David's fouth born child. Seth is eight years old and will turn nine this May! I'm tellin' ya...he is such a precious little boy!!! Of course, I do realize that Grandma may be a bit partial! Hehe! He is such a smart little guy and sooo sweet! He usually ends up the "teacher's pet" because he is such a good boy and so helpful!!! I'm so proud of him and his mama and daddy for doing a fantastic job of raising him!!!
Seth was born with a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I had never heard of this condition until Seth was diagnosed with it. Wolff-Parkinson-White effects the heart...basically and in layman's terms...it is an electrical problem with the heart. Seth has really suffered with WPW. He really can't run and play hard...like most children his age because his little heart will just beat so fast that it causes him pain in his chest. His heart beats very, very fast. In fact, there have been times that his little heart was beating so fast that I couldn't even get a "reading" of heartbeats per minute. He will turn very pale and get blue around the lips when his heart really starts to beat fast...and recently he started experiencing pain down his arm, along with the chest pain! Of course, Jenni and David rushed him to the hospital immediately! That is so terrifying!!! Yes...my precious little Seth could have a heart attack...even at the young age of eight. The Drs. are very concerned!!!
There is a surgical procedure that they can do. The definitive treatment of WPW syndrome is a destruction of the abnormal electrical pathway by radiofrequency catheter ablation. What that means is that they can go into the effected area of the heart...by catheter...and fix it! If successful...the WPW is cured!!! Thank the Lord!!! Of course, every surgery has its risks...but this surgery since it is dealing with the heart...has even more!
The good news...Seth's WPW can be cured through this procedure!!! The bad news is...the Dr. said that the effected area is in the worst possible place that it can be! She is not sure that she will be able to get to it because there is a blood vessel there. However, because of the seriousness of Seth's condition...she highly recommends the surgery!
So...Seth will be going in for surgery on April 5th!
It is a five hour surgery...so much for such a little guy to go through!!! And of course, his mama and daddy...and me...are very concerned!!! My dear friends...please pray for Seth!!! There just aren't words to explain how grateful and appreciative that I would be...please, please...PLEASE PRAY!!! Thank you...thank you, dear friends!!!
Now for my second prayer request...
The Martinez Family

My oldest daughter Lisa, son-in-law Antonio, Antonio Jr., Alex, and Adam.
Antonio Jr.

This is my oldest and first born grandchild...Antonio Jr. He goes by Tony...and Grandma's nickname for him is "Bud"! I have always called him Bud...since the first day he was born. Hehe!
I love this photo of Bud...it was taken in our backyard about 5 yrs. ago...Bud was probably about 13 in this photo. We had an old dead tree stump...and the kids just loved climbing up in it to play! Hehe!
Bud is now 17 yrs. old and is a senior in high school. He will graduate in May and turn 18 in August. He is such a smart young man...I think that he has always made the A-B honor roll throughout his high school years. He is a very athletic young man. He has played baseball on the high school team for several years now! And..he likes to run! He is in track this year! I am sooo...so proud of him!!! He has such a sweet and tender heart...he loves the Lord and has a strong faith in God! With his great attitude and abilities, I just know that Bud will succeed in everything that he sets out to do!!!
Which leads me to announce...

Bud was sworn into the U.S. Air Force...March 26, 2010!!! This Grandma is just "beaming" with pride!!! Congratulations, Bud!!!
Of course, he will finish high school and graduate before going in for basic training. He placed so high on the Air Force tests that he can just about choose any occupation that he would like. He is interested in aircraft mechanics!

Antonio (Bud) Martinez Jr.
Just look at my handsome grandson!!! Don't you just love those smile dimples? Now, I know that he'll probably be embarrassed when he reads that! Sorry Bud...it's just a "Grandma's perrogative"! Hehe!
On Saturday, March 27, 2010...Bud was sworn into the Air Force (once again) at the Blue Angels Air Show in Kingsville, Texas. Isn't that awesome!!!
Please pray for my Bud...as he ventures out into the world...and for his success and safety when he enters the Air Force! I would sooo appreciate it!!!
Congratulations, Bud...you have made your Grandma so very proud!!!

Ohh...I just received this photo from my daughter. Bud with the Blue Angels after being sworn into the U.S. Air Force.
Well my friends...thank you so much for coming by today! I know that this was a lengthy and "wordy" post...but it was so important to me to ask for your prayers for my two grandchildren, Seth and Bud! I really do covet your prayers!!! You know...I am so thankful for each and every one of you...dear friends! I have never experienced such sweet camaraderie...sincere concern...and love...like I have received from you!!! I also pray for you...always praying for the Lord's blessings to you and your families!!!
I will give you an update on Seth's surgery just as soon as possible! Honey and I will be leaving for Las Vegas this Wednesday and won't return home until April 6th. Yes...I know, Seth's surgery is taking place while we are in Las Vegas. Please pray for me too...this Grandma will probably be on "pins and needles" till she gets that "good report" phone call!!!
Thank you, dear sweet friends!!!

I happen to know about WPW syndrome! My lab partner in college had it, and nearly died before they figured out what it was - - - but the surgery cured him. Also, one of my friends right here has TWO sons who have it. BOTH of them have had the surgery and are doing well.

I tell you this as encouragement - - - the surgery really does work.

I know it is scary right now, but we will trust and pray that all goes well with the surgery and that your results will be as good as my friends'

Your precious Seth will be in my prayers. I lost my beloved cousin during heart surgery in 1965. Thankfully, they've come a long way in 45 years. I'm sure he'll make it through, and be all the better for it. Thank the Lord for modern medical break throughs! Congratulations about Bud, you proud Grandma!

My cousin's daughter is in the fifth grade and she just had that procedure done last week! She did great and the procedure didn't take nearly as long as expected. It must be terrifying to them to have their hearts beating so fast.

Praying that your grandson has a wonderful outcome too.

I know you are very pround of your oldest grandson!

Chari, I just prayed for both of your grandsons. Am standing with you to believe that all will be well with both of them.

In turn, I ask you to agree with me in prayer that the Lord will bless the sale of our house and perfect it in His time and with the buyers of His choosing. Some people are coming to see it that I would choose, but I want it to be God's own choice.

Chari- yes yes, we will be praying. I just found out a few weeks ago that my good friend's daughter has a problem that sounds very similar to what Seth has. I will have to ask her again what her diagnoses is called. What ever it is we know that the Father that created Seth has him in his hands and will care for him and Bud too! My what a wonderful family you have. I cannot get over how much your daughters look so much like their mom!!! So pretty!

Thank you for the privilege of praying for your family!

Both very handsome grandsons! And Yes my they will both be in my prayers. I do believe in Miracles in 2010, and a God who is able to make the impossible possible.
As a Grandma, you are going to worry, please dont, My parents stress, but with something that is out of your hands the best thing to do is trust in God for his will to be done. May God bless you and your family!

Oh Chari, I pray so much lately that I am having to wear knee-pads:) I will certainly add Seth and Bud to my list. Oh my goodness, how we love those grandkids. Our hearts are just full of care and concern. Please keep us updated on the surgery and I will pray for a successful surgery, that the blood vessel gets out of the way so that the Doctor can see exactly what she needs to see and that he will be able to run and play right along with the other kids.

Oh what a handsome young Man your Bud is. He is such a tall, good-looking fella and I know you are so proud. It is tough to watch them join up with something that you know will take them away from home... but it is such an honorable future for him.

Big 'ole hugs coming thru for you and you and your family will be in my daily prayers!

Love you! Theresa (Ganky)

Oh Chari! I've written everything down on a post-it to stick on my computer and I am going to put it in my daily journal for prayer requests!! My best friend's daughter took medication for that for years and then had the surgery when she was around 17. It worked like a charm and she doesn't have to take meds anymore! She's on her way to becoming a Dr. herself! My youngest son is 18 now and we're just hoping he graduates in May! He has really struggled with school! Just not his cup of tea I guess!! He had talked about becoming a Marine! Right now he's wanting to go to EMT school and become a firefighter/paramedic. What a nice looking grandson and so much to be proud of! God Bless him as he heads out into the wild blue yonder!! Love Ya! Lauralu :)

Your brave little boys... One, God Bless him for his service to America. and the other God bless him for his courage battling his illness. You are indeed blessed with some wonderful family!

One last thing. The car you are traveling in to Vegas looks very similar to the car my Mom and Dad had when they moved us from New York to California. Thank God for the skills your husband has to restore some of these wonderful cars. A safe trip and a blessed Easter to you all. Joan @Americana By Candlelight
