"Creamy...Dreamy...Whites" A Spring Mantel

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
"Spring Fluffing"
*
"Spring fluffing"...a term that we often use to describe the metamorphosis that
our home undergoes when the days grow longer...brighter...and warmer!
*
Living in Colorado where our winters are sooo very long...spring fluffing is a
"rite of passage"...so to speak.  It feels so good to be able to throw open the windows
and let the fresh air of spring into my home.  It's time to do a little spring cleaning
 and spring decorating!
*
Spring fluffing continues to "march on" here at my place...slowly but surely!
I have been busy putting away the warm winter frocks...in exchange for a lighter...
brighter...decor.  Last week, I finally put the finishing touches on the mantel in my
living room and thought I would share that with you today.
I hope that you enjoy!
*

"Creamy...Dreamy...Whites"
A 2012 Spring Mantel
*
*
Here we are...in my living room.
*
I added this beautiful faux fireplace mantel a couple of years ago and I'm
so glad that I did!  I have really enjoyed decorating it...especially for the different
 seasons of the year.
*
(If you would like to read about the process of adding a faux mantel and
 hearth...you can click HERE.)
*
As you can see...my living room has an olive green, dark red, and gold color
palette.  I love the dark, moody colors but it can be challenging to "lighten and
brighten" things up when the season calls for it.
*
"Creamy...Dreamy...Whites"
*
I seem to "gravitate" toward white more and more these days!  What better
way to lighten and brighten a room's decor...than to add white!  Ohhh...and I
love the "stark" contrast between the white and darker colors!
*
*
*
Creamy...dreamy...white ironstone
*
and
*
Creamy...dreamy...white florals!
*
*
*
A large, white french pitcher...filled with vining ivy, white hydrangea, and
tall stems of white stocks...grace the left hand side of this spring mantel vignette.
*
On the opposite side of the mantel...a white ironstone pitcher filled with white
tulips...joins in to sing the praises of spring!
*
It is still too early, here in Colorado to reap the benefits of fresh flowers...so
faux it is.  Hopefully I can replace the fauxs with the real-deal very soon.  It won't
be long and my springtime posies will be blooming!
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
A pair of white porcelain birds (one on either side) have joined in
 with this springtime mantel vignette.
*
*
*
A small bust of a french girl adds a little elegant beauty!
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
A view of the mantel from the opposite direction.
*
*
*
A vignette of creamy...dreamy...whites...for the hearth!
*
*
*
A larger view of the "conversational" area of the living room.
*
*
*
A springtime vignette on the table in front of the large living room window.
*
*
*
More...
*
Creamy...dreamy...whites!
*
*

*
If you would like to see more of this vignette...just click HERE.
*
*
*
Voila!...and there you have it...
*
A "Creamy...Dreamy...White" Springtime Mantel!

Beautiful creamy whites Cheri. I am smitten with your busts and have started collecting them too. Found a porcelain Greek bust recently for nothing and put him in my largest cloche.

Absolutely stunning! I had to show all the girls in my office - one of them owns a similar statue to yours and is going home to find necklaces to hang on it :-)

Dearest Chari,

I'm so sorry to have not been able to get back to you sooner to offer my sincerest condolences on the loss of your precious father dear lady!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! How well I realize just how long it can take to heal and to slowly even feel like getting back to doing much of anything such as 'full on', blogging for instance.

Take your time and know that you are loved and supported by your fellow blogging friends to be sure; I also lift you up before our heavenly father in prayer for comfort and healing during this time of loss.

What lovely fresh Spring touches you have once again brought to your blog viewers of your lovely home Chari. I love the serene and fresh green and white hues; so uplifting and airy like a breath of fresh air Chari.

It was such a pleasure to hear from you dear lady, I only wish I hadn't been so busy with dear momma needing my help after a medical procedure, as well as three straight days of full on entertaining over Easter.

Oh well, it was a privilege to host her 81st B-day celebrations, especially whereas each day is a precious gift for any of us who still have, even one parent.

It is such a blessing to have time with our parents as long as we are afforded that blessing, as well we both know.

May you be abundantly and richly blessed and comforted in the months and years to come my friend.I still find your posts such a blessing in and of themselves.., Your blog posts are always so rich in inspiration and true artistry. (I guess that being an artistic person is a mixed blessing at times, as often we artists can often feel things much more deeply also, which is just 'part and parcel' of our God given, sensitive nature).

I hope that you and yours have had a blessed Easter.

Hugs and blessings, WL

Good morning Chari,
Just needed to come say hi!
Thanks for your sweet note...I love hearing from you!
Spent yesterday outside with Addison, it was nice and sunny.
Today it's rainy, which we need badly.
On Sunday Dan and I are going over to have lunch with Keetha and her hubby, can't wait!
Otherwise our life is pretty low key and just looking forward to when my son and family visit in June.
Thinking of you and your family, wish so much we were closer!
