Honey...I'm Home!

Pictured from left to right...my daughter Lisa, me, my daughter Aimee, and my daughter Jenni.

Christmas 2011 with my family in Texas
*
A photo of all three of my daughters and their families. All of my grandchildren were present with
the exception of my oldest grandson Tony Jr. who had to report back to his duty station in Arkansas.
We were having dinner at a fabulous seafood restaurant located at Corpus Christi Bay.  There was
a total of 17 of us!  I loved it!!!
*

*
Hello my friends...I hope that you're having a fabulous day!
*
Wow...I bet you guys thought I dropped off the face of the earth!
I apologize for not posting before now.  I have just been busy with life!
*
As many of you know...honey and I recently made a trip to Texas to spend the
Christmas holidays with all of my family.  I had a wonderful time getting to have
Christmas with all of my children and grandchildren.  It had been many years since
we were able to be "all together" for Christmas.  We were able to spend an entire
week just catching up...and I loved every minute of it!
*
As much as I enjoyed all the Christmas festivities with my daughters and their
families, it was a difficult trip as well.  Just before leaving for Texas, I received
news that my Dad has cancer.  My Dad has suffered with several health issues and
because of this, he is unable to receive treatment for the cancer.  My folks also live
in Texas so I was able to visit with my Dad nearly everyday while he was in the
hospital.  These things are never easy.  I sure would appreciate your prayers
for my Dad and Mom and the family.
*
Well...as you can see...I have had a lot on my mind and life has kept me busy!
In fact, Christmas is still up at my place.  Yes, you heard that right.  The Christmas
tree with all the trimmings and all the Christmas decor is still up.   I just haven't
been able to "catch up" after our Texas trip.  Hopefully I can get caught up on
everything soon.  Last week I missed hosting the Sunday Favorites party.  I'm
sooo sorry!  I am cancelling the Sunday Favorites party until further notice.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience with me!
*
I just wanted to let you know that even though I may not be posting...I will
still be visiting with you and checking out all of your fabulous creativity!  I have
missed you, my friends!  I really do hope to be "back up and running" soon!
*
Have a wonderful weekend!
*
Warmest Wishes...

Welcome home, Chari! I'm sure you'll get to it ~ if you do a little bit each day it will be down before you know it. It sounds like you had a great visit with your children and grandchildren. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad but am glad you got to see him quite a bit.

Char, Just do what you can when you can! Who cares if your things are still up? One year, the last tree came down in March! LOL I had to unwrap EVERY strand of lights off of it to get it put into a box. ( This was before pre-lit trees) That was 20 strands of 100 that were woven onto the branches so they couldn't be seen. YIKES- if that wasn't work!
Sorry to hear about your dad- glad you have family members near him that can help out. hugs, Sue

Hi Char
So glad your visit was a great time and that you got to spend time with your dad. We have to take the bad with the good. (sigh)
I'll pray for your dad and your precious family during this hard time.
Don't feel bad, one of my trees is still up and I'm thinking about making it a seasonal tree.
Thank you for hosting but family is more important!

Hi Chari,
We so understand! I am so hoping your life will settle down a bit.
Please keep me updated on your Dad too.
I loved seeing the family pics and especially the big table pic, what a wonderful family you have my dear!
Dan and I are kind of hibernating for the winter at least until we can get to Phoenix!
We had to go buy a new tv today because our old one clonked out and it was only 6 years old.
But it's our main enertainment right now besides Miss Addison.
Big Hugs and prayers for your Dad,
Cindy

I did wonder where you were--but there has been a lot of bloggers that dropped away during the holidays. I will for sure have your parents and all your family in my prayers. My Mother is all the sudden having heart problems--it isn't easy to deal with stuff when you feel so helpless to help them. Sending good wishes your way!

Chari-- Glad you are home, but know it was hard to leave your Dad and the rest of the family. Don't worry about the Christmas stuff (and your blog) - it will be there when you have time and energy. Take care of yourself. Sally

I'll be keeping you in my prayers. Families are our life, so enjoy and take care of them while you can. And as for the Christmas decorations? It's a Denver tradition to leave the lights on until the stock show is over, so I think that could apply to decorations as well.♥♫

The bitter with the sweet. So happy for your time with your daughters and grandchildren, etc. but sorry for what your father is facing. Take it slow and don't worry about those decorations...you have a lot to process and you need to take time to rest and restore. Thoughts are with you and hope this year brings many more times of joy.

Hi, Chari. You know I've missed you--always do when I don't see a post from you for a while :). I can imagine how hard it was to hear the sad news about your dad, and especially around the holidays. I'm sorry about the news and about the timing. What a gift it was, though, that besides spending time with all your babies, you were able to spend precious time with him too. Blessings going to all of you; I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Who knows, the de-Christmasing might be a good project when you get to it...give your mind a break. Be thankful it's not a live tree (I'm assuming, of course!).

My thoughts are with you. ~Zuni

Hi, Chari. So sorry to hear the news about your Dad. I will say a prayer for him. I'm sure your trip to Texas was bittersweet for you.
May I say that you have a lovely family and I especially love that first photo of you and your three daughters! And the one with all of you, with the grandchildren is another great one -- you are certainly blessed to have such a nice, big family!
Again, I will pray for your Dad...
Best,

P.S. I'm sure you've heard this before, but all of your girls look just like you! I'm sure you are one proud Mom.

Hey girlfriend,
Just checking into say hi! I so appreciate your sweet notes!
Went shopping with the daughter and grand-daughter today. Katie needed a dress for a wedding this weekend. we found something really cute for her and on sale but now I'm pooped. Shopping with my moody daughter and her very busy baby girl wears me out! hehe.
Well enough about me. I am thinking of you and hoping your Dad is doing ok too. Saying a prayer.
Hugs friend,
