Autumn Pears...A Thanksgiving Table

*

*
Hello my friends...Happy Thanksgiving!
*
Today is going to be a very busy day for many of us. Preparations for Thanksgiving are well under way at my place! We will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Friday when my step-children arrive. This year it will just be the four of us, nevertheless I am cooking a turkey with all the fixins'! Mmmm...I can hardly wait! Hehe!
*
I have prepared a small, informal table in our dining room. I hope you enjoy!
*
Autumn Pears...A Thanksgiving Table

*
I have used autumn pears in so much of my autumn decor this year. At the beginning of the season I created a three tiered centerpiece for the dining room table filled with autumn's bounty. I decided to use this centerpiece for our Thanksgiving table and continue the theme of "autumn pears".
*

*
The table is dressed in golden yellow, pear green, and warm browns...the colors of autumn pears!
*

*
The Centerpiece...

*
The Centerpiece was created using three tiers of glass pedestal cake plates. A tall, gold pillar candle sits on the top layer...along with a few wood pods and three miniature pumpkins. The middle layer is filled with autumn pears. Autumn berries, woody seed pods, nuts, and two yellow lovebird figurines decorate the bottom layer.
*
A few wood acorns and autumn pears are scattered about on the gold table runner. I just love this beautiful gold table runner...it has white vines and leaves embroidered on each end! A pair of vintage Roseville pottery candleholders sit on either side of the three tiered centerpiece.
*

*

*

*

*
The Place Setting...

*
The same color theme of golden yellow, pear green, and warm brown form the layers of the "autumn pear" place setting.
*

*
My latest treasure find...salad/dessert plates featuring pears! I found these pretty plates on Ebay...it was love at first sight! The pattern, Golden Pears by Julia Bullimore (1998) are from Crate & Barrel. The set of four plates features a different type of pear on each plate.
*
I love this shade of pear green and the gold gilded leaves!
*

*
A white ironstone dinner plate from my every day dishes.
*

*
I found these beautiful leaf plates on sale at JC Penneys at the end of summer. They are the same shade of green as the pear salad/dessert plates. I love the way the leaf plate frames out the place setting! A brown charger plate with embossed autumn leaves on the rim completes the place setting.
*

*
I love how the green, white, and brown colors of the place setting look together!
*

*
A red autumn pear!
*

*

*
The flatware is called Brahms by Oneida.
*

*
The stemware.
*

*
I layered two dinner napkins. The gold napkin matches the table runner and has the same white vines embroidered on it. The green and tan plaid napkin brings more of an informal feel to the setting! A wood napkin ring with embossed autumn leaves ties nicely in with the charger plate.
*

*

*

*
And Voila!!! Autumn Pears...our 2010 Thanksgiving table!
*
*
I am joining Tablescape Thursday this week...
*

Hosted by Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch.

I'm not sure if Susan will be hosting Tablescape Thursday this week due to Thanksgiving....but just in case! Hehe! Thank you, Susan for hosting this fabulous party for all of us to enjoy!

Well my friends, I have sooo much to be thankful for! The Lord is so good to me and my family! As I count my many blessings during this season of thanksgiving...I would just like to say that I count you and your friendship as one of my greatest blessings!!! I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! May your day be filled with family...love...peace...and...joy!!!

Hi friend!

You girls and your fancy smancy tablescapes just amaze me. I think you know what MY tablescapes look like - - - take out bags on the couch in front of the TV.

I've been SOOOOOOO delinquent with my Sunday Favorite posts during/after our move. I am feeling sooooo bad about it, and am here to beg your understanding.

I've already got the one for this week set as a draft to roll off the presses a few minutes past midnight early Sunday morning! Whew!

Hi Chari!
Oh my dear, you have done it again!
What a gorgeous table! Those pear plates and that centerpiece, just perfect! I love how you layered the napkins and the runner is gorgeous! I love the embroidery on it.
It's nasty here right now. Freezing rain, cold and just yucky!
Hoping it will be better by morning when we have to travel.
Katie and Addison had their pics taken today. It was so much fun and Addison was such an angel.
Here's wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving and thankful that I have you as a a friend!
Tell Russ you need to drive to Wisc. next summer!

Chari,
You know why this is a special table? It's because it IS a special table. It's not really like anything I've seen or previously connected with Thanksgiving. On the other hand, it is "fallish," stunning, and doesn't look at all out of place. It's hard to find a table that doesn't look a bit like all the others in blogland, but this one is it.

Hi Chari,

I love your autumm pear table and all the details you have added to your table! The three tiers of fruit and fall pretties are just perfect for your table! The plates are so pretty and layered on top of the green plate and the brown chargers looks so elegant. Your tablerunner is so wonderful..I love the embroidery on the end of it. My three sons are home and we are having a lovely visit...I haven't set my table yet...first thing in the morning though! LOL
Hope my table turns out as pretty as yours! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
As always thanks for all the inspiration and support you have given me!

Chari, your soft green palette is so soothing & restful along with your pretty whites! That embroidered tablerunner is gorgeous & your centerpiece TDF!

You know we have the same chargers & napkin rings! I was tickled pink to find the rings to go with them just last month. Love the addition of the green checked napkins...too cute! Your colors are very similar to what I did last week for company. GMTA

Happy Thanksgiving & many blessings to you & yours!

Chari,
Stunning table for Thanksgiving! I think your centerpiece is brilliant. So full of pretty autumn touches and lots of charm. Putting a centerpiece together using tiers certainly makes it the star of your table. I love the candle on the top!!!! I'm sure this design will show up on one of my tables soon. Beautiful.
Love the plate stacks and tying it all together with pears... pears are my favorite to decorate with and eat!
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. And you have been such a kind friend to me! I am very thankful for you!
May God bless you, Chari and all you hold dear.

Informal? Informal? Only by Emily Post's standards! Wow. I think it's beautiful. Lovely use of all the pieces. Such a great centerpiece. You certainly have an eye for this sort of thing.
The J.C. Penny's plates are great, by the way.
More, give us more!

Dear Chari, this is a beautiful table. Pears are a great inspiration, a perfect shape, wonderful colorations and perfect for the season. Your plates are quite a find! But your Roseville candlesticks are amazing. I love them and you couldn't have found anything better on this table.

Thank you for your sweet comment, I'm just now getting around to seeing all the pretties, the turkey is in the oven! I feel just as you do friend. I'm blessed because I know you, albeit virtually, it's still a friendship. Happy Thanksgivings.
