Hello my friends!!!

Welcome to the 67th run of "Sunday Favorites"!!!

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend! Wow...where has the time gone? Can you believe that summer is nearly over and that autumn is just around the corner? This past week has been very hot...so it hardly seems possible that in just a few short weeks that those autumn cold fronts will be blowing their way into Colorado! I'm ready for cooler weather...how about you?

Today for Sunday Favorites...I thought I would revisit a post from July of 2009. Ahhh...those "dog days of summer"...hmmm, or should I say "cat days of summer"? Hehe! I hope that you enjoy!

Wishing you all a super Sunday!!!

It's Thrifty Thursday!!!

Hello my friends! So happy that you could join me for Thrifty Thursday!

This fun filled Thursday event is hosted by Leigh over at Tales From Bloggeritaville! Why don't you pay Leigh a visit today and see what "thrifty find" she has and while you're there you can visit all of the other Thrifty Thursday participants! Thank you, Leigh...for hosting Thrifty Thursday!!!

Today's Thrifty Find...???

*
The little treasure that I'm about to show you today was a really "thrifty" find! In fact, it was free...can't get any thriftier than that! Hehe! My honey brought two of these little "thingy's" home with him. He found them while he was cleaning out some of his Dad's property.
*
I just love it...there's only one problem though...I don't know what it is?
*
Now...I know it is a "vintage" something? I mean...it just looks old...and...I've never seen one! So if you know what this "thingy" is used for...I'd be much obliged if you would enlighten me!
*
** *

This is my furbaby...Little Boy! He's the most curious cat that I've ever seen...as soon as I brought my newest little treasure "thingy" outside to take a photo...he was right there!!! Hehe!
*
*

My "thingy" really is awesome...it folds up!!! I just can't imagine what it was used for...but I think I know what I'll be using it for!
*
A plant stand for our backyard patio!!!
*

*
A photo of the flowers that run down the side of our home. They are called Bouncing Bet or Soapwort! I just love these pretty white flowers...they have just a tinge of lavender...so pretty!
*
Well my friends...I'm so happy that you stopped by today! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I would love to visit with you!!!
*
Ohhh yes....and if you know what this "thingy" is...please let me know! Hehe!
*
Love ya'll,
Chari

Just a little "update" since this post!

My sweet friend Gloria from Happy To Be blog told me that this wire basket was orignally used as a vegetable bin in the old General Store! It's definitely vintage...and sooo cool! Gloria is so knowledgeable when it comes to vintage and antique items! Ohhh...you should go and check out Gloria's blog...it's awesome!
*
Anyway....I have found a fabulous "use" for my vintage wire basket!
*
My Blue Cottage Veranda...

*
I recently redecorated my patio/veranda. I just love how it turned out! I used two sheet sets that I purchased at Walmart to make the quilt that covers the swing, a new swing cover, recovered the chairs and made chair slips, and new pillows to boot! If you would like to read more about how and what I did to redecorate the veranda...just click HERE.
*
What does all of this have to do with the vintage wire basket?
*

*
I use it to store all the pretties that I made for the veranda! The quilt, pillows, etc...fit perfectly in the vintage basket. It really is handy because I can bring everything inside (out of the weather) when the veranda is not in use!
*

Have a super Sunday!!!

Interesting piece...and you've been creative with things to do with it. Couldn't you just see it filled with veggies in a country store?

Thanks again for hosting each week!

Hi Chari,
My dear, I would love to be sitting with you again on that gorgeous patio! You have made it such an oasis!
And now I remember seeing that wire basket!
You're so clever! Talk about double duty, it looks great holding those gorgeous pillows~
And I hope your Birthday was a happy one. I can't wait to see that new armoire! That Russ, he's such a nice guy and great hubby too!
We've been just doing a little shopping this weekend and hanging out. I'm still recovering from the Baby shower!

Your veranda looks smashing! You are a talented lady, my dear -- and I LOVE those wire baskets/holders/thingies.
Lovely use for them, too -- and so much prettier than a Rubbermaid container!
Best -- Cass

Hi Chari,

I've missed you...I've been busy and not posting as much..trying to keep all my flowers alive through this hot scrouching weather!

I adore you veranda! I guess I missed this post before (don't know how) and so glad you reposted...I am inspired to make a cover for my porch swing! How cute! I love that wire basket to store everything in.. as I would definitely have to bring in all my pretties between the birds and squirrels..they wouldn't be pretty for long in my yard. I'm back in the blog swing...I think..saw your cute pictures of your grandbabies on your vacation. Adorable! Happy Sunday my friend!

Looks like you put that vintage ":thingy" to good use! I have seen those from time to time at flea markets, but don't know what they're called.
