Hello my friends!
*
Welcome to the 115th run of "Sunday Favorites"
*
I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend!  Wow...I do believe that autumn has made its way into our little corner of colorful Colorado.  It has been very hot here but a "mini cool front" blew into our area Friday evening.  The high for Saturday is supposed to be 69 degrees...the low 45!  Can you believe it?
*
With temperatures like this...it won't be long till the trees begin putting on their autumn colors!
*
So...this week for Sunday Favorites...I thought I would share one of my "favorite" posts called "Autumn Leaves...an Autumn Vignette"...originally posted on October 18, 2010.
*
Well my friends...I'm looking forward to seeing your Sunday Favorites posts this week and visiting with you!  You can sign up for the party at the end of this post!
*
Have a super Sunday!

~Autumn Leaves...an Autumn Vignette~
*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
This past week, I took a few photos of an arrangement of autumn leaves that I have in my dining room.
*
~Autumn Leaves...an Autumn Vignette~
*
I have a white pillar column, that measures about 24 ins. in height, sitting in the corner of my dining room. When it came time to do a little autumn decorating, I looked for something that I could place on top of the column to bring a little autumn color to that corner of the room. Hmmm...I feel an autumn vignette coming on! wink!
*
I decided to arrange a few tall stems of faux autumn leaves in a large pitcher. I have had this pitcher for quite some time...it's one of my favorites. I love, love, LOVE...the mustard yellow color...the beautiful embossed grapes, vines, and leaves. And...I love that this piece of pottery has been distressed...the burnt orange color of the clay base is peeking through in several places.
*
This pretty pitcher also has a matching plate. The plate is decorated with embossed grapes and vines as well. I love the handles on each side of the plate...they look like a twisted grapevine. Soooo pretty!!! There was just enough room on the plate...at the base of the pitcher to add a few of my wooden acorns.
*

*
I love how warm autumn colors look against my olive green walls.
*
*
*

*
~Autumn Leaves and a Stained Glass Window~
*
*
Just above the autumn arrangement, you'll see a stained glass window inset into the wall. This wall is very narrow...about 4 ft. wide...it divides the dining room from the living room. My late mother-in-law was a stained glass artist. Although she did not do this piece herself, my husband had the window made...using the stained glass from his mother's collection. It really is a beautiful piece and adds a unique architectural detail to the dining and living rooms.
*
I took a few photos. I thought the autumn leaves looked sooo pretty in front of the stained glass window!
*
*
*
*
*
The angel is dressed in the most beautiful shades of blues and purples! I love the detail of her wings!!!
*
*
*
~A Study of Autumn Leaves Through Photographs~
*
**
I recently purchased a new camera...something with a few more options than your regular "point and shoot" camera. I have enjoyed playing...getting a few close-up photos of the autumn leaves. I have decided that I would like to be a photographer when I grow up! wink! Hehe!
*
*
*
*
*
Of course, I took many more close-up photos of the autumn leaves, but I thought I would share these with you. I love how you can see the minute details of the little lavender and purple seeded stems...they look sooo pretty against the green leaves! And...I love how the soft autumn colors are muted in the background of the photos!
*
Autumn Leaves in Frosted Frames...
*
I took a few of the autumn leaf photos over to Ed's Flickr Toys at Big Huge Labs and added a "frosted frame" that is offered under the "framing" option. I thought the autumn leaf photos looked sooo pretty with the frosted frames! In fact, I decided to make a new blog header using a few of these photos.

***Just a little note: Sunday Favorites Criteria***
*
When I first started the Sunday Favorites meme, my initial thought was to offer a solution for getting a post out on the weekend without having to spend alot of time doing so...weekends are just a busy time for most of us! Copying and pasting a previous post is so quick and easy. Not only is this a quick and easy solution to the busy weekends, but it's also an opportunity to dig back into our blog archives and share a favorite "past" post once again! Many of us spend alot of time and effort creating a post and it just seems a shame that it is viewed only once and then forgotten about!
*
I would like to reiterate that Sunday Favorites is a meme about sharing or revisiting a post from the PAST!
*
Thank you!!!

Oh how lovely! Great minds think alike. I just did a Fall post today also. Hopped over for a visit and saw that it is time for Sunday Favorite's. Going to see if I have a post to share. Thanks a bunch!
Almost forgot, love the stained glass window. How sweet that the glass has sentimental value.

We have experienced some almost 100 degree days fot the last few days but, tonight it is raining and pulling in cooler temps. Yeah. We were watching the ballgame tonight being played in Detroit. the announcer said it was 98 degrees but the were getting warnings of a storm coming in. Just then, the rain hit and in a 3 minute period the temps dropped to 74 degrees! It was s bizarre. Anyway, love the the Fall arrangement. I am ready for the cooler temps but, I want them to last for several months before freezing!

45 degrees at night already? You are scaring me, honey!

We get down to the 60s on some nights, but we've still got a few weeks of warm weather to go.

I reached back for an Autumn table -- I finally got tired of posting about Storm Irene! :-P
Love, Cass

ACK! Forgot to say -- LOVE the leaves in the pitcher... those are nice faux leaves, too; I thought they were the real deal!
You always make just the prettiest vignettes. I have NO talent in that way!
