An Autumn Tablescape in a Basket

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh boy...we really are having autumn-like weather this week!  The highs have been in the 70's and the low's dropping down into the 50's at night.  I have finally been able to shut the A/C off and open the windows!  I am having so much fun decorating for autumn this year...and it is especially nice being able to clean and decorate with all the windows thrown open wide!  Ahhh...autumn!!!
*
While I am busy cleaning, decorating, etc., I thought I would revisit an autumn post from last year.  I hope that you enjoy!

~An Autumn Tablescape in a Basket~
a revisit from October 7, 2010
*
Today I would like to share an autumn tablescape...Of A DIFFERENT SORT!
This has all the "makings" of a beautiful autumn tablescape.
 There are table linens, beautiful autumn dishes, and even a table centerpiece...
*
and
*
...it's all in an autumn basket!
*
*~An Autumn Tablescape in a Basket~
*
*
A beautiful autumn woven basket filled with the "makings" for an autumn table.*
*
Okay...let me explain. I really haven't lost all of my autumn acorns...urrr...I mean marbles! Ohhh well...I know that I'm nuts!!! Hehe! But I really do have intentions of setting a pretty autumn table. (I do hope that this will qualify for the Tablescape Thursday party.)
*
Lately, I have seen a few of my favorite designers use a pretty basket filled with beautiful dishware and lovely linens in their vignettes, or on the buffet, etc., and I really liked how it looked! Sooo...I was inspired to create a little basket of my own!
*
It's a wonderful way to showcase a few of your favorite dishes and linens!
*
*
My "autumn tablescape in a basket" is displayed in my kitchen.
*
I just love my vintage enamel topped table. It's distressed and chippy...at its very best! Hehe! A table lamp with an antiqued, bronze/copper finish lights up this little corner of my kitchen nicely. (Of course...no need of lamp light right now...the early morning sun was shining into my kitchen ever so sweetly!) An old copper boiler pot with ivy sits on the back of the table.
*
And now...the "star" of this vignette...my autumn basket filled with beautiful autumn dishes and table linens!
*
*
I've had this woven basket for sometime now...I love the pretty autumn colors!
*
The ingredients for an "autumn tablescape in a basket"
*
Three red and gold embroidered autumn placemats
Two autumn plaid dinner napkins
Two autumn dinner plates...Royal Stafford "Decoupage"
Two coordinating salad/dessert plates
Two acorn shaped bread and butter plates
Two cooridinating coffee mugs
Autumn florals
A pretty off-white ceramic pumpkin
and
Three red apples
*
Oh yes...each and every one of those items are in that basket!
*
And...I am now ready...and in a moments notice...I can set a beautiful autumn table! Sooo convenient!
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
And...VOILA!!! An "Autumn Tablescape in a Basket"!
*
*
I just had to add the photo above...as well as the next couple of photos...the morning sunlight was shining upon the basket so beautifully! I have really been enjoying "catching" the light and shadows in my photos! I have a new camera and have been playing!
*
*
*
*
*
Photoscapes photo effect..."watercolor pencil" was used to achieve this look!
*
*
*
Thank you, Laura and Susan...for hosting these fun filled parties for all of us to enjoy!!!
*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends, I'm so glad that you stopped by for a visit today! Please leave me a note and let me know that you were here...so that I can visit back with you!
*
Warmest Wishes!
Bring on the Fall Chari. I love it. Since I am indoors all week long I guess I am a little selfish about not caring about the weather.
I love the smells of fall. The drying out of the leaves and flowers. The cool night air blowing in the open windows.
And when it gets colder in the the daytime I love the aromas coming from the oven or slow cooker. Yup...bring it on.
Your basket is the first step. So pretty.
Chari, how in the world can you make a simple fall basket look so homey yet elegant? I love it by itself, and I REALLY love it on the table.
How clever~ All your elements look so wonderful displayed in your basket and so convenient too! I'm envious of your autumn temperatures. We have a little reprieve of 80 degree weather this week.
Happy Fall decorating :-)
We've opened the doors and windows here as well. 78-80 seems like winter after the 100+ days we've had.. may we both continue to enjoy life and weather.. xo marlis
That is a really neat idea using a basket as you did. Such pretty pictures capturing your basket. Love it!
Hope you are still enjoying your nice weather. I hope it cools down here soon. Right now my house is still too hot to do much except play on my laptop.
That's a great idea Chari! Love your autumn tablescape basket!
I really LOVE your enamel table too! *winks* What a beauty it is! I actually have a very similar copper boiler and never thought to use it like that, so thank you for the inspiration my friend!
I also wanted to thank you for your lovely comment on my LR. I seriously think it's the nicest one I've ever received, and coming from you it means soooo much! You warmed my heart!
Let me see.. in answer to your questions.....The marquetry piece is a Louis XV style bombe chest with ormolu mounts. It's from around the 1940's? I hope that's the one you're asking about?
2nd question: Thank you for asking about my piano! It's my favorite posession. Since I was a little girl I've had a love for grand pianos! I'd always wanted one but space or money constraints prevented me from having one. During one of my "deep" talks with my now husband I told hime how much I wanted one...and he remembered and purchased this one for me as an engagement present. I don't play a lick and I don't care! It's the sweetest thing ever that my soooo practical husband loved me enough to buy it "just because" It's from 1850's Vienna. I think it's the most beautiful piano in the world!*winks*
And in answer to your third *winks* You my friend are welcome to come visit any time! Wouldn't we have the best time shopping and chatting up a storm?! Vanna
It's a beautiful basket, Chari! It makes me think of a picnic on a crisp fall day, watching the geese fly overhead. Anything that can evoke the feeling of autumn is fabulous in my book!
