Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh boy...we really are having autumn-like weather this week! The highs have been in the 70's and the low's dropping down into the 50's at night. I have finally been able to shut the A/C off and open the windows! I am having so much fun decorating for autumn this year...and it is especially nice being able to clean and decorate with all the windows thrown open wide! Ahhh...autumn!!!
*
While I am busy cleaning, decorating, etc., I thought I would revisit an autumn post from last year. I hope that you enjoy!

a revisit from October 7, 2010

Today I would like to share an autumn tablescape...Of A DIFFERENT SORT!
This has all the "makings" of a beautiful autumn tablescape.
There are table linens, beautiful autumn dishes, and even a table centerpiece...

Okay...let me explain. I really haven't lost all of my autumn acorns...urrr...I mean marbles! Ohhh well...I know that I'm nuts!!! Hehe! But I really do have intentions of setting a pretty autumn table. (I do hope that this will qualify for the Tablescape Thursday party.)
*
Lately, I have seen a few of my favorite designers use a pretty basket filled with beautiful dishware and lovely linens in their vignettes, or on the buffet, etc., and I really liked how it looked! Sooo...I was inspired to create a little basket of my own!
*
It's a wonderful way to showcase a few of your favorite dishes and linens!

My "autumn tablescape in a basket" is displayed in my kitchen.
*
I just love my vintage enamel topped table. It's distressed and chippy...at its very best! Hehe! A table lamp with an antiqued, bronze/copper finish lights up this little corner of my kitchen nicely. (Of course...no need of lamp light right now...the early morning sun was shining into my kitchen ever so sweetly!) An old copper boiler pot with ivy sits on the back of the table.

Bring on the Fall Chari. I love it. Since I am indoors all week long I guess I am a little selfish about not caring about the weather.
I love the smells of fall. The drying out of the leaves and flowers. The cool night air blowing in the open windows.
And when it gets colder in the the daytime I love the aromas coming from the oven or slow cooker. Yup...bring it on.
Your basket is the first step. So pretty.
Oh Chari, this is so beautiful! I am so glad you reposted this beautiful baket, fukll of Autumn's beauty!!! Love the dishes and linens! We had torrential downpours yesterday and COOL temps, the high was 61! But today it is warm and VERY humid so the windows are closed again:(:( I hope to start my Fall decorating this weekend! Can't wait! XOXO, Pinky
It's just beautiful Chari! I love all of the pieces you've used!
Happy Fall!
Pam
Now this is FALL to my eyes and beautiful too, Chari.. Love all the items you choose to display as well as that beautiful copper pot. You have so many pretty treasures and display them so well..
its only 73 here today and I plan to work in the yard this afternoon and then come in for tea and maybe a little nap.. If only there was someone here to bake a fresh apple cake to go with my tea:)
see ya soon
It just goes to show...you don't need a lot of space for a tablescape!! This is so pretty, I love everything from the napkins to the shiny apples! Now I need a nice basket!! ;-D
Enjoy your cool days, it's just lovely here and all the windows are open!! Hear me calling Hi!!
XO,
Jane
Chari, this is just the cutest thing. Love the basket and all of your dishes and accessories are beautiful. That copper boiler also really caught my eye. Great basket-scape. Hugs, Marty
Okay, Chari girl, rub your delicious weather in. In Florida....we have to wait for another month. Yikes.
Chari....you have not lost your touch. I have just about given up red for the time being and then I see this!!!!! You have the touch. These vignettes are delightful....food for the soul.
Gorgeous!!
Blessings,
Barb
Chari,
How chic! I would love to see a tablescape with those dishes and linens in the near future! Definately beckons Autumn's arrival!
Fondly,
Pat
Can't have autumn without apples...I love the basket sitting by the copper pot....very pretty!
I am feeling pretty good. Thanks for asking!!
What an artistic composition -- an it makes last minute tablesetting so effortless...wonderful idea!
Very, very pretty tablescape. I love the copper and the vintage table. It's all so pretty together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you visit often :)
Beautiful Chari! Let's see I love the lamp and little tassel as well and love that big ole copper piece too!! I love when you post your older posts because a lot of them I'd never seen, so keep them coming! Martina
I absolutely adore that Chari!
Apple tablescape in a basket, it's simply stunning!
I kind of remember but I am so glad you reposted because I simply adore that look!
So hoping your feeling a bit better my dear...take care and rest up too!
We've been so cool, this morning it was in the 40's! However it got into the 70's today and it was gorgeous!
Hugs dear,
Cindy
Chari,
Looks beautiful!!!

Kathy
Hi Chari, what a beautiful fall basket! Love the rooster tassel too...I am out of roosters and can't find any pretty ones.Darn! Oh how I am looking forward to fall this year! Love the change of season...Have a great night, Kristen
I remember this post Chari. Absolutely loved it the first time and I've enjoyed revisiting!
Chari, how in the world can you make a simple fall basket look so homey yet elegant? I love it by itself, and I REALLY love it on the table.
How clever~ All your elements look so wonderful displayed in your basket and so convenient too! I'm envious of your autumn temperatures. We have a little reprieve of 80 degree weather this week.
Happy Fall decorating :-)
Chari, your vignette in a basket is charming. I love the colors! What a great idea,, a table all ready to go.Your enamel ware table is great..
We've opened the doors and windows here as well. 78-80 seems like winter after the 100+ days we've had.. may we both continue to enjoy life and weather.. xo marlis
Chari, I love your Autumn Basket. Your dishes are gorgeous, the shots with sun shining through are spectacular! The one dish if you look closely looks like a pie shell turned on it's side.. your table is wonderful.. what a treasure. I'm glad you're enjoying fall like temps, we are too... fabulous weather.. hugs ~lynne~
Totally in love with your FALL basket!! I love the dishes, the great red apples and all the rest of the beauties! Oh my friend, you do have a special touch, this is lovely! I love autumn and the beautiful leaves and smells and weather soooo very wonderful! Lots of love and see you later at TT too.
FABBY
That is a really neat idea using a basket as you did. Such pretty pictures capturing your basket. Love it!
Hope you are still enjoying your nice weather. I hope it cools down here soon. Right now my house is still too hot to do much except play on my laptop.
~Linnea
Hi Chari, you are so funny. Loved your post. I love your idea to put the tablescape in the basket. First of all it is lovely...and a great display idea...but also a great idea for different holidays or special occasions. Love those colors too...so rich and deep. You got it goin' on girl! Hahahaha...
Blessings,
Debbie
That basket qualifies you for any old thing you want! Wow! Just beautiful, Chari!
Hugs,
Mona
I just adore that you are ready at a moment notice to set a truly beautiful table.
Apples are my favorite to decorating with as well as to eat. :)
Thank you so very much for linking up!
Chari, this is so pretty. Just the perfect Autumn look. Lovely!
Chari, this is a lovely fall basket...
This is a FABULOUS fall basket tablescape--like out of a magazine or from a movie or specialty store display!
LOVE the rich colors!!!
You are just FANTASTIC!!!
And thank you dear Chari for your sweet comment on my little blog. You are a true sweetheart and one of the kindest people in blogland!!!!
I pray that you have a great rest of the week!!!
Hugs/blessings,
Lana
Chari, Love that beautiful basket. As usual a perfect vignette, so glad you reposted it! I have a copper cooker just like yours, love the way you have the folage in it! Thanks for sharing.
Sandy
That's a great idea Chari! Love your autumn tablescape basket!
I really LOVE your enamel table too! *winks* What a beauty it is! I actually have a very similar copper boiler and never thought to use it like that, so thank you for the inspiration my friend!
I also wanted to thank you for your lovely comment on my LR. I seriously think it's the nicest one I've ever received, and coming from you it means soooo much! You warmed my heart!
Let me see.. in answer to your questions.....The marquetry piece is a Louis XV style bombe chest with ormolu mounts. It's from around the 1940's? I hope that's the one you're asking about?
2nd question: Thank you for asking about my piano! It's my favorite posession. Since I was a little girl I've had a love for grand pianos! I'd always wanted one but space or money constraints prevented me from having one. During one of my "deep" talks with my now husband I told hime how much I wanted one...and he remembered and purchased this one for me as an engagement present. I don't play a lick and I don't care! It's the sweetest thing ever that my soooo practical husband loved me enough to buy it "just because" It's from 1850's Vienna. I think it's the most beautiful piano in the world!*winks*
And in answer to your third *winks* You my friend are welcome to come visit any time! Wouldn't we have the best time shopping and chatting up a storm?! Vanna
It's a beautiful basket, Chari! It makes me think of a picnic on a crisp fall day, watching the geese fly overhead. Anything that can evoke the feeling of autumn is fabulous in my book!
Gorgeous vignette! Don't you just love it when the sun makes itself available to be an integral part of your tabletop design. Thank you for sharing your lovely design. Cherry Kay
