Delicious Autumn...Part II

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh my...things are forever changing at my place! I decorated my dining room buffet at the beginning of the autumn season but I've changed it once again. Last week, several of the items that I used to decorate my buffet...went to the table for an autumn tablescape. Eeeks...I couldn't just leave the buffet bare...could I? Hehe! Anyway, thought I would share a few photos of my new dining room buffet decor! I hope that you enjoy!

"Delicious Autumn...an Autumn Buffet" Part II

*
This buffet started it's life as a dresser in my step-daughter's bedroom...ten years ago. When I first moved into my honey's home...it was in desperate need of furniture...sooo...I pulled this big ol' dresser from the bedroom...refinished it...and moved it into the dining room to use as a buffet. I have never regretted the decision! This piece works much better as a dining room buffet than it did as a dresser in a little girls room!
*
This piece had a dark wood finish. As you can see, I painted it a creamy white and used olive green on the insets of the door and drawer fronts. I used an antique gold colored glaze on top of the wood carvings and some of the moulding...to make the carvings stand out and for a little more interest. I used the same paint treatment on the mirror that matches the buffet. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and how this piece looks in my french country dining room!
*

*
The beautiful buffet runner was found at Hobby Lobby several years ago. I just love the colors...the embroidered pattern...and all that long fringe! The olive green, gold, and burgandy colors are perfect for the autumn season.
*
Two matching buffet lamps sit on either end. I just love these frenchy lamps...the bronze metal and the beautiful cut glass on the base of the lamps just make my heart sing! Ohhh...and I mustn't forget the pretty dangling crystals! Gorgeous!!!
*

*
Voila...a new autumn vignette for my frenchy dining room buffet!
*

*
An autumn cloche...a three tiered autumn display...a few acorns scattered about...and a few autumn pears sitting on a stack of autumn plates.
*

*
An autumn cloche
*

*
This cloche was sooo easy to put together. I used an autumn floral pick for the arrangment and added a few nuts to the base, an autumn plate...and Voila! I tied a pretty gold satin ribbon around the handle of the cloche...just a little extra pretty!
*
By the way...I thought these photos turned out so pretty. I love how the lamp crystals are catching the light and how they look against the mirror. And...I love that my large painting of the fruit and the three tiered display is caught in the reflection in the mirror!
*

*
A Three Tiered Autumn Display
*

*
I used my three tiered pedestal cake plates for this autumn display.
*
Top Tier...
A yellow-gold pillar candle "tops off" the autumn pretties! I added a bit of autumn potpourri mix around the candle, a few pumpkin place card holders, and a few autumn leaf napkin rings.
*
Middle Tier...
I simply added pears around the middle tier.
*
Bottom Tier...
I used an autumn wreath made up of berries, a few autumn floral picks (the dark red cattails, etc.), a bit more autumn potpourri strewn about as a filler, and two pretty yellow gold bird figurines.
*

*

*
You know how I love my sweet birds! Hehe!
*

*
A few wooden acorns for decoration...
*
You can get a better look at the buffet runner in this photo. This is my favorite table runner! I love the colors and the embroidered floral pattern is really beautiful!!!
*

*

*

*

*
A stack of extra autumn plates with a few pears...
*

*
My "artsy" photos.
*

*

*
And...there you have it...another autumn vignette for my dining room buffet!
*

*
I'm sooo glad that you came by today...I hope that you enjoyed!
*
*

Chari...you should be a decorator! Your buffet is stunning. You did a great job refinishing it, I agree, it looks better as a buffet than dresser. And what a wonderful job you have done arranging all of your fall beauties. Your cloche is lovely and I really like how you have the tiered stand with the pears! Nicely done! :-)

XO,
Jane

A "nekked" buffet would never do :)!!! It's hard for me to imagine that this piece of furniture was ever anything BUT a buffet. It is perfect in the dining room. And, as always, exquisitely decorated!

Well, you have inspired me! I have a side board that I can't decide exactly what to do with. Your dresser turned buffet looks great!

I also have several of the things on display like that same three tiered dish. I just love the look you created and will be flattering you with imitation! Great job!

Hi Chari,
OMG this is just gorgeous!
And Jane is right, you should be a decorator!
I love the cloche, the beautiful pedestal display and the acorns scattered around!
And of course that wonderful, wonderful buffet!
You really did an amazing job on it and I was super lucky to get to see it in person!
It takes a lot of vision to turn it in to the beautiful piece that it is today!
I think all of us wish we had your amazing eye for detail!
Not much going on around my house.
My highlight now is seeing and kissing little Addison!
Hugs and have a great week,
Cindy

This looks very pretty, Chari! I need to get a substantial piece like that in my dining room, although we hope to sell next year, so maybe I should hold off. : ) I have a china cabinet piece and am using a sofa table right now on one of the other walls.

Love this display ~ you are all ready to move right into Thanksgiving! Your cloche looks fantastic. I just found another one this past weekend. Once Halloween passes, I need to get my Fall stuff back in order.

Chari...so lovely! Aren't pears so beautiful? They take such a backseat to the season mates...apples & pumpkins but are as beautiful if not MORE!!

I love your buffet. In my old farmhouse, I had the perfect spot in my dining room for an old chest of drawers. It was perfect for linen storage not to mention that top for decorating. I miss using it for that purpose.

As always, a lovely visit to your blog :)

Blessings!

Absolutely unreal gorgeous. Love your tablerunner, the colors are fabulous. Of course I drooled over the cloche, and then your tiered server is so pretty. I love the mix of florals, berries, birds and then the pears and then the candle. How gorgeous and creative is that. Your lamps are just so pretty. Your dining room is so pretty and this vignette has to be one of my all time favorites. Well, I say that, but I think they all are. Thanks so much for linking to TTT Hugs, Marty

Hi Chari! Thanks for stopping by today. I've been slow getting around blogland the last couple of weeks. Been trying to get a couple of projects done, etc. Yes, I'm starting to think about the trip to Germany & France - hope the terrorist alerts calm down a bit by spring. I'm too old for drama!! For now, we have 3 more birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas to think about. Your buffet looks wonderful, as always. I don't seem to find the time necessary to even attempt the attention to detail that you achieve! It's cold tonite - is winter here? Take care, Sally

Chari you have the prettiest autumn buffet I have ever seen. It is all just specatacular! I adore the gorgeous runner and three tiered stand. You are talented my friend. It's a truly amazing vignette.

Thank you for checking out my new bedroom layout. I'm so happy you like it too. It does appear that the room is much larger. You're right, I did't try changing it sooner because I didn't think the furniture would fit. On a whim we decided to measure everything and just go for it. We love it! I'll go bench shopping today. I'll let you know what I find.

Happy week to you!

Chari, you've created an autumn wonderland here! I like the fact that you are using the dresser as a buffet, and you did a great job redoing it. You have a real way with arranging vignettes, and I always love to see what you do! And that red backdrop is just perfect. Every time I see it roll up, I fall in love with it over again.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Just yesterday I was thinking about using my daughter's old dresser as a buffet or something similar in our living room. I already have a china cabinet on top of the buffet in our dining room and just have too many fond memories to get rid of it but maybe I can use her dresser for something else. Of course, it's not as gorgeous as yours. It's just a six drawer type. You are always so inspiring.

Great pictures as usual and I just love those wooden acorns.

Much love!
