Hello my friends!!!
*
Welcome to the 86th run of "Sunday Favorites"
*
I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend! It's a quiet weekend at my place...staying inside...close to the fire where it's warm! I have sooo much that I need to be doing. I have started to get my Christmas put away but I have a long ways to go yet before I can call it done! It's always sooo much more fun putting Christmas up then it is to take it all down! HeHe!

It's so funny...while looking for a post to put up for Sunday Favorites this week, I found this post from last year at about the same time...the first week of January. I just laughed...I am in the exact same spot today...putting away Christmas. The title of the post is called..."I Can Do It"! I hope that you enjoy!

Have a super Sunday!!!

**********

Just a little note: Sunday Favorites Criteria

When I first started the Sunday Favorites meme, my initial thought was to offer a solution for getting a post out on the weekend without having to spend alot of time doing so...weekends are just a busy time for most of us! Copying and pasting a previous post is so quick and easy. Not only is this a quick and easy solution to the busy weekends, but it's also an opportunity to dig back into our blog archives and share a favorite "past" post once again! Many of us spend alot of time and effort creating a post and it just seems a shame that it is viewed only once and then forgotten about!

I would like to reiterate that Sunday Favorites is a meme about sharing or revisiting a post from the PAST!

Thank you!!!

Sunday Favorites

My favorite post from: January 5, 2010
**

*
Hello my friends! I hope that your first week in our brand new year is going fabulously for you!!!
*
I love decorating my home for Christmas...but...Ohhhh my!!! I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the task of taking all the Christmas down and packing it away for another year! Ohhh...and then there is the clean-up! Well I don't have to tell you...you ladies know!
*
My old fibromyalgia muscles and bones have really been giving me fits lately...between the extra work of the holidays and the cold winter weather...my body is just screamin' at me! Nevertheless, there is work that needs to be done!!!
*
Sooooo....
*
The lady of the house looked over the rim of her glasses as she sipped on her morning cup of coffee. "Ohhh my!" she said. "The Christmas decorations look so pretty but they really must come down! There are Santas and reindeer...ribbons and bows...and then there are all of those ornaments...Ohhh my!"
*
With a long deep breath and empty boxes in hand...she whispered a prayer for help. "Oh Lord, with your help, I think I can. I think I can!"
*
So away with the wreaths and the dust underneath.
Away with the snowman...I think I can, I think I can!
Angels and mistletoe, candles and more...
With broom in hand...sweeping the floor!
*
Ohhhh no...Ohhh no...there is still more!
*
The Nativity...baby Jesus, Joseph and Mary.
Up the stairs, more boxes she carried!
Ornaments...ornaments...ornaments galore!
They seemed to multiply...there's more than before.
*
One by one, down they came...
The Christmas house wasn't looking the same.
Away with the garland, away with the gold...
Only the woman knew what the future would behold!
*
With Christmas away...tears shed for its fate...
Dreams of a new decor now filled the slate!
Once again while sipping her cup...with plans in hand,
she uttered the words...I think I can! I think I can!!!
*
Written by lil' ol' me! Hehe! Okay, I was having way too much fun!!!
*

*
I CAN DO IT!!!
*
As you can see...I'm having to "psyche" myself up here! Hehe!
*
~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends, it will probably take me the rest of the week to get all my Christmas put away...house cleaned up, etc. I do declare that it takes me sooo much longer because of the fibromyalgia! So this will be my last post for a little while but you can be sure that I'll be by for a visit! It usually goes something like this...do a little work...sit down for a blog break...do a little work...sit down for a blog break! I think you get the jist of it!!! Hehe!!!
  1. Hi Chari - do me a favor and send some motivation my way. I still have all my Christmas stuff out too.
  2. I sure hope you feel good enough to do everything you want to do this week! It's a challenge to keep up with everything! Love your post tonight. We just watched Mona Lisa Smiles and it ends with a bunch of old photos of 'housewives' back in the '40s and '50s! Fun to see the posters and pics! Hugs! ♥
  3. O...I didn't put out nearly as much decorations this year as in the past and I LOVED it. My Christmas tree and my 18 Christmas stockings were the stars this year without a whole lot more. The ease of taking it all down and packing away has convienced me to do the same next year. :))
    Thanks, dear heart, for hosting such a fun meme. I feel like you...we all do work hard on a lot of our posts and it is nice to be able to bring them around again.:)
  4. Cute, cute post! Yes it is a daunting task! Mine are put away, but I still have a bit of re-organizing to do, so that I can easily find everything next year, and boy oh boy I am NOT looking forward to that. Ha.
    Love those photos, thanks for the smiles!
    Thanks for hosting Sunday Favorites!
  8. You are so talented, that is the cutest poem. I giggled all the way through it and could just see you at work. Great post. Rest a little and work a little with a whole lot of emphasis on the rest. lol Hugs, Marty
  9. Loving your poem and sending good wishes on getting the un-christmasing done. I never really got all mine up...made the taking if it down so much easier. I need to make a note of that so I remember for next Christmas :)
    Blessings sweet friend!
  10. Hi Chari, After spending all day taking our Christmas tree down I said NO MORE and sent the tree and all the lights to Goodwill. Next year it will be a smaller tree and prelite. Love the poem!
  11. Oh my gosh! I'm so glad I'm not the only one...lol. I have almost everything put away but reading your post I remember that on Jan 2nd I took down my tree and the lights got tangled up on the bottom third of the tree and I put it in the garage thinking I would get it done next weekend, and it's still sitting in there! I think I'll just wait for a sunny day in June :0D Happy Sunday!
  12. Hi Chari!
    I so agree...the aftermath of the holidays and the cleaning and putting way of stuff is such pain! Maybe I should start a company where I offer services that does nothing but taking down holiday decor, cleaning it and packing it away! LOL
    Hope you are having a wonderful day!
    Hugs, Diann :)
  13. Chari, I'm so sorry the illness slows you up. I hope you get it all put away and then can kick back and enjoy yourself.
    I'm having a china giveaway on my blog in case you're interested. I think you are about as big of a china junky as I am. LOL! :-)
  14. Chari, just got all my trees taken down last night. Finished at midnight. Feels good to have a clean slate again. LOL
    It is all a lot of work. My husband wonders WHY?
    Cute poem! Take your time and it will all get done.
  15. Chari, this is so funny. It's a relief to know that I'm not to last person to finish. Although everything has been down for several days, the last of the decor lingering in a stack on the floor was just packed away in a closet today.
    I don't have many to choose from, but thanks for the opportunity to repost a former item.
  16. Dear Chari
    What a great post and I can SO relate! My fibro muscles ached so badly this Christmas that my decorations never even made it out of the box! I was really bummed at first - but boy, was I feeling good the day after when I did not have to pack it all away! SIMPLIFY - THAT is my word for 2011!
    Hugs
  17. Oh Chari, my girl -- you have been peeking into my home and seeing all the Christmas bling still in place!
    ACK! I have a cold, and feel lousy, so I am using that convenient excuse, but sooner or later I've got to just jump in and DO it.
    I'll use your adorable poem as my inspiration.
    Thanks!
  19. Soooo awesome to hear from you sweet and wonderful Chari! I've missed you!
    Your blog is amazing and fantastic as ever! I really love your Sunday Favorites concept, too, and I need to participate in that!
    I know your talking about the fibro pain is from last year, but I know this 2011 winter might be tough, too, so I've said a prayer that your joints hang in there. I'm totally there with you, my friend! Aches and aches on top of aches with this arthritis and joint disease!
    But, wonderful blogs like you help lift my spirits!
    Thanks again SO MUCH for stopping by!
    Love/hugs/blessings,
    L
Hope your fibromyalgia feels better after you are done your de-decorating!
  25. Chari, thank you so much for the sweet note you left me. I am glad you like the idea. As I said, it was my husband's idea. We are enjoying it. I love what you say on your profile about the Bible. It is definitely a precious treasure, and like you, I don't know what I would do about it. It is so good to meet bloggers who are dedicated to the Lord as you are. May the Lord bless you and your family and give you a wonderful year. Gail
  26. Chari I loved your Christmas clean up poem! Very well done my friend! And I know the feeling...It was so much fun putting it up but taking it down it seems to multiply!
    Hey thanks for helping me with your opinion. So far I'm having to concede to Santa *winks* But I'm ok with that..Less painting...More bargain shopping!
    And I think I can, I think I can, join your meme! I finally have enough posts to have an "old" one hehe! vanna
  27. I do understand Chari. I hope you are feeling better this week and getting all of it done like you want too. It sure feels nice to have a clean home doesn't it?
    Happy New Year sweet friend!
  28. Happy New Year, Chari!!! Hope all is warm & cozy at your house!
    Since I only do a lil bit at Christmas, it only took me about an hour to put it all away. Quite different from when I used to lug 3 huge boxes up from the basement, and then down again. :)
    Stay happy,
    Zuzu
  29. Hello dearest Chari,
    I have not been on my computer much lately, so I am late getting to your Sunday post.
    You are SO poetic, I love it, Chari!!! You are so talented and I am so very sorry to hear that you suffer from fibermyalgia, did I spell it right? My husband suffered from it for years and he still does occasionally, so I am very familiar with it. It breaks my heart to know that you suffer such pain.
    Have a good day and be careful, don't overdo it, if you do you will pay for it later, you know.
    Love and hugs, Cindy
  30. Hi Chari! It was so nice to hear from you. I kind of got away from blogging for a few weeks. I'm glad to be back and catching up with friends. I would love to join your Sunday Favorites party - I will make that a New Year's goal! Guess what? We are having our baby boy next week! Can you believe it? Stay tuned to MDB for pictures of our sweet little man, and wish me luck on my C-section.
    xoxo,
    Kim
  31. Chari, thank you so much for visiting me today. Loved having you drop by. I hope you are staying cozy and warm in this wild winter weather! We are supposed to get some cold tonight in Florida, and I'm bundled up here, still trying to get over a respiratory thing that started before Christmas. I will be glad when it decides to cooperate and leave. LOL!
    Sending you warm hugs...
