Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Wow...isn't it amazing how fast time flies? We just celebrated Christmas...and yet...in just a couple of months...spring will be here! I really do enjoy the different seasons and all the changes that come with each period....and I love to decorate my home accordingly!
*
Since we are beginning a brand new year...I have been reflecting on a few of the changes that occurred in my home in 2010. For Metamorphosis Monday and Table Top Tuesday this week, I thought it would be fun to share some of the seasonal changes that have taken place with the decor of my dining room buffet. It's one of my favorite pieces to decorate...I hope that you enjoy! I realize that this is a photo heavy post so I will keep my commentary to a minimum! Hehe!

Since I live in Colorado where snow is a definite during the winter months...I love to decorate with silver and white. These cool, sparkly colors really reflect the idea of snow and the colder temperatures of the winter season. I also really like how the silver and white look against the red wall color in my french country dining room!

I decided to use a color theme of white and "spring green" to welcome in the spring season. I just love this fresh, yellow-green color...it just sings of spring to me! Little white bunnies and white lilacs and hydrangeas are the theme for my springtime dining room buffet! I just loved this springtime buffet vignette and ended up leaving it through the summer season.

Red, golden yellows, olive green, and warm toasty browns were the color scheme for my autumn buffet. The "star" attraction of this autumn buffet vignette...my three tiered, stackable cake pedestal plates filled with pears and other autumn pretties! A stack of autumn themed dessert plates...topped with pears...are located on the right side of the buffet. On the left side...a cloche filled with autumn leaves, berries, and miniature pumpkins.

I ended up using the three tiered autumn plates for a tablescape (from the previous photos above)...so I redecorated the buffet using a couple of wire cloches that I had. I just love the old distressed gray finish on the cloches...ohhh, and I love that wire...so frenchy looking! An autumn floral candle ring decorates the bottom of the shorter wire cloche. If you look closely, you will see that a sweet little bird is used as a finial or handle for the short cloche. A sprig of bittersweet and more autumn florals swirl up through the insides of the taller wire cloche. The tall cloche measures 30 in. in height and makes a grand statement for this autumn buffet vignette! I also added one of my favorite pitchers to this vignette. I love the autumn colored leaves and grapes on the pitcher!

This was my dining room buffet's Christmas vignette. Since I used an all white and silver color scheme...I will continue to use this decor for the month of January...I'll change it out in February. I really...really love how this vignette turned out! I love all the sparkling whites and shimmering silver! Ohhh...and it is sooo pretty at night when the lights in the pine garland are turned on! Again, I used my three tiered stacking cake plates...filled with white and silver ornaments. Mercury glass finials, silver deer, and snowflake candleholders are placed on each side of the three tiered plates.

Chari ~ I absolutely love the winter decor although I do think your bunnies are quite adorable.;-)
ReplyDeleteI adore your stacked layers of ornaments, but my favorite hands down is the one with all the silver candlesticks and the silver tureen. Breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteSheila
This was all such great inspiration Chari! I have been stumped over my post-Christmas buffet table and this was just chock full of great ideas! I'm thinking I might stick with the wintery theme too but I know mine will not look nearly as beautiful as yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteVanessa
My favorite is your Winter 2010, but I think it's because I'm seriously coveting your beautiful silver collection. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCindy
I like silver and white too. And green for spring.
ReplyDeleteChari, each vignette is gorgeous, but my favorite is the spring/summer one with the added pops of bright green. I love that look. You always create wonderful vignettes.
ReplyDeleteEvery season offers such lovely details... but I, like you, am taken with your Christmas decor! The tiered plates full of frosty sparkle and silver is breathtaking! This tabletop needs to be in a magazine!
ReplyDeletexo Yvonne
I enjoyed seeing all your lovely buffet vignettes. It is fun to look back on the seasons in this manner. Your winter silver/white combo is my fave and you have given me inspiration to do something similar for my winter decorating....for now, though I'm still enjoying my Christmas decor!
ReplyDeleteDD
Hi Chari,
ReplyDeleteI love all of them but my fav is the one with the silver soup tureen.
I wish you all the best in 2011!
Carolyn
Chari, you always do the best vignettes in the whole world. I love them all and try so hard to study each one to see how you do it. Absolutely stunning. I love them. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a year of seasonal changes! Loved to walk with you through your year. My favorite was the buffet festooned with silver candles sticks and silver bowls. Love that some of it was tarnished - like we all are! Your sense of style is a gift. Thanks for sharing. CJ
ReplyDeleteChari,
ReplyDeleteThey are all so wonderful!!! I love the Christmas one best, too!
What a great piece your buffet is, Chari! You have such a nice long top to decorate and all that storage must be great! I'm hoping to have a piece like that at some point, except I'm thinking we should wait until we downsize before I get something.
ReplyDeleteChari:
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the change of seasons. I'm trying to push Christmas out the door and enjoy the quiet of winter.
- The Tablescaper
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite from your seasonal designs; they are all so lovely. You do a wonderful job completely changing the look of your stacking cake plate. The jingle bells in the Christmas vignette are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteTammy
I love all the changes, Chari, each and everyone with no exception. And I am in love with your silver tureen! It's exquisite!...Christine
ReplyDeleteWow! Love them all! I love, love your buffet, why have I not noticed it before! I guess, I always looking at all your wonderful treasures! I simply love the silver and white mantel! Oh, I want a big bunch of white hydrangeas!
ReplyDeleteAll of it is absolutely stunning! It's difficult to decide on a favorite, however, I do like the winter with all the silver/gold, etc. Whatever you do, it turns out beautifully. Wish you were here to help me right now. :-)
ReplyDeleteI understand you're having a lot of snow...but that's winter in CO, right? I know it's beautiful ~
Have a wonderful week! I hope this year is everything you want it to be my friend.
xoxo
Pat
Hi Chari,
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented girl!
Every vignette is a feast for the eyes! I love them all and it's hard to pick a fave! But I think it would be the Spring/Summer one because it reminds me of visiting you!
What a great post girlfriend!
You need a portfolio filled with all of these beautiful pics.
Everyone is magazine ready and beautiful!
Big Hugs,
Cindy
Chari,
ReplyDeleteOh Wow!! you up as late as I am.
Worked on the etsy and the post to get it up to free up my busy day. I so love the many seasonal changes you gave your sideboard with out disrupting the look and feel of its space, it moves gracefully into one theme and seasonal holiday to another :)
I too so love the snow with the silvers. A big design fan of silver, silver plate, pewter, zinc, galvanized metals and all things french gray's like a foggy day have charmed me with a new passion filled with inspiring ideas.
Thank you for your beautiful support to a art form I just create with not knowing how anyone will take it. I just paint to replace the old that I just can't find at time.
I love your wire garden cloches, they just so work with your style.
Have a beautiful week creating.
xoxo

Chari,
ReplyDeleteI think my faovrite is the Christmas/Winter buffet too but they are all just beautiful. I have a red dining room as well and I love the seasonal changes. I am always surprised how easy one can make seasonal changes with red walls. I have a crystal chandelier too and when the lights are on the red just bounces off those prisms in such a charming way. Thank you for visiting my blog.

What a wonderful piece to decorate thru out the year! Everything is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Chari: Your home is amazing! Love the winter decor. I do the same colors for January. I want to wish you a blessed New Year. Martha
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning, Chari! My very favorite would the the second autumn setting, but ALL are inspired! And exquisite! You are such a talented artist, Chari, and you make a lovely home for you and Russell. It has been such a pleasure to have you as a blogging friend over the past year.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Beth
Everything against that red wall looks luscious! My favorite is the silver and white.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love it all, Chari, but I'm a Christmas girl to the nth degree so if I'm forced to choose a favorite, that one is it. Though the bunnies are precious!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Your vignettes are gorgeous -- I can't decide which season I liked the best, but I'm drooling over your silver tureen!
ReplyDelete~Amanda
