Lilacs and Tea

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a marvelous day!
*
I'd love for you to join me for a little refreshment....
*

*
Just taking a little time out of the day to relax...
*

*
Ahhh...the scent of freshly cut lilacs...is there anything better?
*

*
Hmmm...maybe sitting down for a cup of tea with the scent of lilacs filling the air? Yes...I'm thinking that it doesn't get any better than this!!!
*
Today I have prepared tea in my french country dining room!
*
Lilacs...A Tea Table Centerpiece
*
A white ironstone pitcher filled with a large bouquet of freshly cut lilacs is elevated upon a pedestal cake plate that I covered with a lacy doily. On either side of the lilac bouquet, you will find a white pillar candle in a candleholder with pretty dangling crystals...they seem to fit perfectly with the lilacs! I have set my new cloche (a gift from my friend Gloria)...on a pretty lacy charger plate...for a little something "pretty" to look at while having tea! A stack of pretty teacups are peeking out at us from under the cloche!
*

*

*

*
One white ironstone teacup along with two olive green transferware teacups are stacked so sweetly under the pretty cloche!
*

*
My newest white teapot...elevated on a pretty pedestal cake plate!
*

*
I love the shape of this pretty teapot...and ohhh, just look at the pretty scalloped edge at the top! I found this sweet little teapot at TJ Maxx for just $7.99! The pedestal cake plate with the reticulated edge also came from TJ Maxx. I love that store! Hehe! I wove two ribbons through the edges of the cake plate...a white organza ribbon and a thinner light green ribbon.
*

*
A white ironstone sugar and creamer...I love my ironstone!!!
*

*
Special Handcrafted "Just for Me" Teacups...
*
These teacups are very special to me...my mama made them for me many, many years ago! I thought the lavender colored grapes on the cups would look pretty with the bouquet of lilacs! There is a matching bowl as well...you can see it in the bottom right-hand side of the photo (there is a better pic of it down below). I just love the pretty ruffly edges on this bowl!
*
Once again I have used one of my "Cluny Lace" charger plates as a tray for the teacups. They are sitting atop a new white linen napkin that has the prettiest little flowers embroidered on it!
*

*
I love the pretty lavender colored grapes and green leaves...and ohhh, those beautiful grapevine handles!!! I also just adore the fluted lines on the feet of the teacups!
*

*
Just a couple photos of the candleholders...I love how the dangling crystals are catching the sunlight! Sooo pretty with the lavender lilacs in the background...don't you think?
*

*

*
Ahhh...here is the matching bowl to the teacups! Isn't it beautiful?
*

*
New Linens...Floral Vine
*
I found these beautiful napkins at Bumble Bee Linens (online). They are actually little guest towels but I am using them for napkins today. I love, love, LOVE the gorgeous floral vine embroidery and elegant drawnwork of these linens!!!
*

*
A close-up photo of the pretty "spring green" colored napkins.
*
My sweet Grandma made these beautiful embroidered napkins for me when I was just 17 yrs. old! They are one of my most precious treasures!!! I have had them out in my dining room since I used the "spring green" in my spring and summer decor this year!
*

*
Ahhhh...lilacs!!!
*

*

*
Well sweet friends...I'm sooo glad that you stayed for a little refreshment...thank you for coming by!!!
*
*
I am joining these two fabulous parties today...
*

Table Top Tuesday...hosted by Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life.
*

Tuesday Tea for Two...hosted by Wanda over at The Plumed Pen.
*
Please go by and see what these lovely ladies have for us today...I know that it will be a real treat!!! Thank you, Marty and Wanda...for hosting these fun filled parties for us!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends...thank you so much for coming by today! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I'd love to visit with you!!!
*
Have a wonderful and blessed day!
Chari-- It looks like spring/summer has arrived in Colorado finally. It certainly is more than hot enough for my tastes. You know me - I'm already dreaming of winter. Summer is my hibernation period. I don't plan on going anywhere much until Fall. Hope all is well with you. Sally
Chari,
Everything is beautiful as ever. I love lilacs. Just wish they would grow here. They remind me of going to my Grandma's house in Utah. Love everything else as well.
Did you have a nice anniversary? Did you get to Home Goods?
I am back to work after having a week at home. Too bad I got nothing accomplished while at home. But I did get a lot of relaxing in. So that was good. I really need to do something so I'll have something to blog about.
Take care my friend. And drink in all that aroma for me from the lilacs.
Those lacy chargers are so pretty with everything you have out. And now that summer is here, I'm loving being outside in the garden. Wish I had some lilacs, too. ♥♫
Another beautifully set table. I don't think I have ever smelled lilacs. I don't think we have them here except in the florist shops. Maybe we do and I just don't know anyone who has them.
Hi Chari!
Your table is absolutely beautiful! Lilacs are my favorite flower but my bush won't bloom. I think I am too far south. Thank you for sharing yours. The candlesticks are so pretty too.
Hello there sweetest lady,
My oh my Chari!..,Without a doubt,this is just one of the best 'teascapes' that you've ever created my friend!~ Fabulous and oh so pretty!
Your lovely, pristine white pitcher, just brimming with fragrant, sweetly scented, purply-mauve lilacs,and those delightful mugs and lovely bowl; what a heartwarming gift and momento your dear mother made for you!
Every last little detail from the candles,to the exquisite lace, and the apothacary jar with the freshest color of green apples, and the delicate napkins are just the prettiest!~
Also, I simply adore cake stands and that one is just too darling with the soft celadon green ribbon interwoven throughout; the fabulous white teapot is the finishing touch with the green and white transferware teacups so artistically nestled within the cloche!..,Wow!
.., Another Chari masterpiece to be sure!..,You've quite simply utdone yourself once again!
...,As for my recent tea post, thanks so much for your kind and sweet comments and most of all for partcipating and joining in the fun!
..,(Re., my little our Lilac bouquet,I did not want to cut too many Lilacs because we are part of a five garden, garden tour this Sunday and we wanted to keep as many Lilacs as possible on the bushes).., It should be fun!
As mentioned, I was delighted as always Chari, to have you partake once again my friend with my little Tuesday and Wednesday tea parties; please join me anytime your theme warrants sharing teatime in blogland!
Also,in answer to your question Chari, the pretty little 'dome' in the foreground is an antique cheese dish, cover lid; it does not have a base; I bought it from an antique dealer, 'for a song'!~I just loved the delicate flowers and the motif and knew I'd find a 'mix and match' re-purposed use for it!..,
I'm so looking forward to sending your little art cards off to you!
Thanks so very much for your kind concern and prayers; yes God is so much more than able!~You remain, along with your grandsons and family, in my prayers as well!
Have a marvelous remainder of the week and take care of yourself my friend!
Cheers, hugs and blessing from Wanda Lee @ The Plume Pen
You visited my place and I was taken back in awww! over your profound comment about my site!
I have never been so moved with passionate heartfelt words as the comment you left me, you are to kind.
So I then took the time to get my self right over to your place to see what makes you who you are! I was in SHOCK!! and with my mouth hanging open, wiping the drool away and crushing on every photo you had displayed with beautiful lilacs, linens, stoneware, silver flatware, crystal, and the most beautiful back drop to show it off with graceful elegance.
I will be adding you to my blog roll as well, so I will not miss a thing you do :)
Chari, Thank-you for your friendship and the love you show as to who you are.
