Hello my friends...
*
Welcome to the 60th run of "Sunday Favorites"!!!

*
Happy Fathers Day!!!
*
I hope that you are having a wonderful Fathers Day weekend! We are having beautiful weather here in Colorful Colorado...in fact, it's just the perfect day for celebrating Fathers Day! Honey and I plan on grilling a couple of big ol' steaks and just sit back and enjoy! The "Happy Fathers Day" greeting/photo...is a photo that I took last summer while on a camping trip up to the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mtns...at the Cache La Poudre River. I just thought it made a pretty Fathers Day card. Well my friends, do you have plans for this special day?

I would like to wish a very special Happy Fathers Day to my Dad! He's in Texas so I'm unable to spend the day with him, however I was able to spend Father's Day with him last year.

My Dad...

My Dad and Russell...Fathers Day, June 2009.
*
It had been several years since I have been able to celebrate Fathers Day with my Dad...so it was a great time! My Mom had really fixed a great meal (you know how mama's are...hehe!) and we all just enjoyed the day...getting to spend it together!!! Dad has his "breathe right" patch on his nose...just in case you're wondering! Hehe! Dad will turn 75 this year. He suffers with COPD and emphezema...please keep him in your prayers! This time of the year (in south Texas) is always difficult for him...between all the pollens and humidity. I hope that he is having a fabulous Fathers Day today! My sister, brother, and their families are celebrating with him!
*
Russell, Danielle, and Darrin...

*
I also would like to wish a Happy Fathers Day to my honey, Russell! This photo was also taken in June 2009 while we were in Texas. Darrin (age 16) and Danielle (age 15) are Russell's children...my step-children. This is such a good photo of all of them!
**
Since it is Fathers Day today, I decided to revisit a post that I did about my father-in-law in January, 2009. We lost him in December, 2008...and miss him greatly!!!

Well my friends, whatever your plans are for the day...I wish you a great one!!!
*
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

It's been a few days since I've been able to post...many of you know that we lost Russell's Father this past week. The funeral was yesterday, and today has been the first time I've been able to "come up for air". I just wanted to thank all of you for your concern and prayers....they have been so deeply appreciated....we have felt each and every one of them!!!
*
Russell and I are very thankful to the Lord for taking Dad as He did...Dad just passed away to Glory while he was sleeping! He had been ill for sometime and his days had been getting more and more difficult but we were thankful that he was able to be home and not in some nursing home or hospital! We also take great comfort and peace in knowing that Dad was ready to meet the Lord and because of this, we didn't have to say "goodbye" but rather, "we will meet again"!!!
*
Thank you again my friends...for all of your prayers and condolences!!!

Hi Chari,
Looky there!
I am the first one to link up and post tonight. This is such a sweet post my friend. Such a nice tribute to your Dad and Hubby. And a beautiful tribute to Russell's Dad. I lost my Dad 3.5 years ago. I miss him and wish he was still here. Tomorrow, we are having Dan's Dad and his Mom for dinner. Dan's Dad, just turned 84 and Dan sure appreciates that he still has his Dad around.
Well have a lovely day tomorrow my friend. I am counting down the days!
Big Hugs,
Cindy

This was a beautiful post to re post. It is always so sad to lose loved ones. My husband is dealing with his mom suffering from Alzheimer's. We will go home to Pueblo tomorrow so he may see her. She never knows him and today my SIL said she asked for him. It is hard on my husband. So prayers are always welcome at our phamily circle. I like stopping by. Where do you live in Colorado? I am in the Denver Metro area. Anne

Your tribute to your own dad was awesome too! How fun that you we all together. It is hard living away from your loved ones isn't it? I like those pictures. MY son Nick has that Texas Longhorn shirt! Happy Father's Day to all the men in your life! Anne

Such a lovely tribute to three days, Chari. I'm glad you reposted it. Memories are wonderful, what would we do without them.

Have a good day tomorrow with your husband, and enjoy those big ol' steaks and your wonderful weather.

What a beautiful tribute. I lost my dad when I was just 22 years old. I miss him! We must cherish those we love when we have them here with us.
Your Colorado photo looks like a postcard. Of course, it's hard to take a bad picture in Colorado! You are so lucky to live in that beautiful part of the country! We love Estes Park and hope to get back there next summer. It'd be a FABULOUS place to retire! But family comes first; so we will see!
Hugs and blessings, Beth

Chari what a beautiful tribute to all of the Dads in your life. I enjoyed reading and seeing the pictures. I know how you and Russell must miss his Father - I lost mine a few months after Father's Day last year. Keep enjoying the ones that are still with you.

Thanks again for hosting. Love the picture of your father-in-law in his uniform. I treasure the pictures of my dad in his Army uniform during the WWII years. We lost Daddy four years ago, and I miss him, especially today.

Oh Chari! I had not realized that Russell's Dad had passed away. Having lost my Mom in January, and my Dad getting frailer -- I understand. Please give my sympathy to Russell -- and of course to you, too.

Blessings to your family, and the Dads in your life,

Hi Chari,
This post is touching. It is so important to make sure that our loved ones know how much we love and care for them...

Sorry for the loss of your father-in-law. My heart is heavy for you and your hubby. I was trying to write a Fathers Day post myself... it was to emotional. My dad passed away just over a year ago. It's extremely difficult to lose a parent. :*(

Blessings to you,
Shanna

Oh Chari, what a sweet post and tribute to your late Fatherinlove. I know he is missed. My grandfather basically raised me and he went home to Jesus 3 years ago and I miss him terribly. Thanks for sharing. Be blessed. Cindy
