"Feathering My Spring Nest"
*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh my...here we are already in the month of March and Spring is nearly upon us! I have to admit...here in Colorado...Spring is still "wishful thinking" for us. We are still experiencing some pretty cold temperatures but hopefully the warmer, spring-like weather will be here soon!
*
Today I would like to share a spring tea and tablescape with you. I named it "Feathering My Spring Nest"!
I hope that you enjoy!
*
"Feathering My Spring Nest"
*
Here we are in my french country dining room. The white and silver color scheme still resides but a touch of Spring has come to my table!*Awhile back, my dear friend Gloria from Happy To Be blog...gifted me with a special set of dishes! I thought today would be the perfect time to bring them out...and create a spring tea table.
*
*
The Table Centerpiece...
*
A white lace table runner makes a nice foundation for this spring-like tea table. An oval silver tea tray holds a few of my favorite things...
*
a white ironstone pitcher filled with creamy white tulips,
a white porcelain cherub,
a few ornate silver candlesticks with chunky white tapers,
a white ironstone cream pitcher filled with extra teaspoons,
and...
two hand blown mercury glass heart ornaments tied up with ribbon.
*
Mercury glass finials, orbs, and goblets are placed to each side of the silver tray...along with a couple of iron fleur de lis finials.
*
*
*
*
*
*I found a trio of "serenading cherubs" at the antique flea market recently.
This sweet cherub is serenading us with his heavenly lyre!

The Place Setting...
*
This is the set of dessert dishes that Gloria gave to me. I sooo love this sweet set of dishes...thank you, dearest Sis! Yes, I call Gloria...Sis! I know that several of you have asked if Gloria and I are real sisters. Even though we are not bound by blood...we are bound by soul! Gloria and I first met on HGTV's Rate My Space site...nearly four years ago! We actually got to meet..."face to face" last April in Las Vegas! We had the best time ever!!! And...Gloria and her dear husband Len will be coming to Colorado to visit with us this June! Yeeeehawww!!!
*
"Family Circle"
*
This set of four dessert plates is called "Family Circle". It is a series created by Hector Giacomelli...1875. Famous for his images of birds with human emotions, Hector Giacomelli's "Family Circle" was produced in porcelain...in limited edition exclusively for THT Designs.
*
Each of the four plates has a special theme...signifying the four stages of the family circle. They are sooo very sweet and the artwork is just gorgeous!
*
This sweet little bluebird family is depicted through plate...
*
#1..."Home Sweet Home"
#2..."Tender Moments"
#3..."Little Joys"
#4..."Letting Go"
**
They make for the perfect spring table...don't you think? When I think of bluebirds...I always thing of Spring!
*

and a lacy metal charger plate.

I find this one a little sad! I guess this is where I am at...in the "empty nest" stage of life! I think that Mr. Giacomelli should have made a 5th plate...showing the little bluebird's nest filled with sweet grandbabies! What do you think? Hehe!
*
*
I love the beautiful blues and soft lavenders that were used to color this set of plates!
**
*
Stemware for the beverages...

Today I am using one of my favorite white ironstone teapots.
*
Manufactured by J&G Meakins..."Classic White" pattern.

The beautiful lace linen napkins were a gift from Shanna...a very dear blogger friend! Shanna is the author of Revamped French Maison blog. If you haven't ever visited Shanna you are really missing out! She is such a dearheart and she has a delightful blog! Thank you, dear Shanna for the beautiful lace tea napkins...I just adore them and they are sooo perfect for my spring tea!!!
*
*
And there we have it..."Feathering My Spring Nest" tea table! I hope that you enjoyed, sweet friends!

***Just a little note: Sunday Favorites Criteria***
*
When I first started the Sunday Favorites meme, my initial thought was to offer a solution for getting a post out on the weekend without having to spend alot of time doing so...weekends are just a busy time for most of us! Copying and pasting a previous post is so quick and easy. Not only is this a quick and easy solution to the busy weekends, but it's also an opportunity to dig back into our blog archives and share a favorite "past" post once again! Many of us spend alot of time and effort creating a post and it just seems a shame that it is viewed only once and then forgotten about!
*
I would like to reiterate that Sunday Favorites is a meme about sharing or revisiting a post from the PAST!
*
Thank you!!!

A Summer Bouquet...

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Ohhh my gosh...it has been crazy-busy at my place lately!  Between quests and summer trips, I haven't had much time to spend on my blog.  I have missed all of you, dear friends...hopefully I will be able to do a little catching up this week!
*
Today I thought I would share a quick little post for the Table Top Tuesday and Open House Thursday parties this week.  Eeeks...I'm even running late for Table Top Tuesday!  I'll be just slidin' in by the seat of my britches...hehe!  I know that many of you have seen my summer dining room but I took these photos a week ago and thought I would go ahead and share them today.  I hope that you enjoy!
*
A Summer Bouquet
*
*
Here we are in my french country dining room.
*
A couple of weeks ago, my sister and brother-in-law from Texas came for a visit.  I wanted to make a pretty dining room table centerpiece that we could enjoy while dining.  I found this beautiful bouquet of apple green and white colored mums at the market and thought they would be perfect!  A frenchy looking...white ironstone pitcher...holds the fresh flower bouquet.
*
*
As you can see...I have used shades of white and apple green for my dining room's summer decor.
*
Green Apples...Green Apples...and More Green Apples
*
A large cloche filled with green apples decorates the summer buffet (in the background).  I carried the same green apple theme over to the table.  A large green leaf platter along with a trio of green apples join the fresh flower bouquet for a summery table centerpiece.
*
I think green apples just "sing of summer"...don't you?
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
I love the big white crysanthemums and the little apple green colored mums too!
*
*
*
*
*
I really am loving this bright shade of green and white against the red wall color!
*
*
*
*
*
Well my friends...I hope that you enjoyed my fresh flower summery bouquet!
*
*
I am joining these fabulous parties...
*
*
*
Thank you dear ladies, for hosting these sweet parties for us!
*

*
Well my friends, I'm so glad that you came by for a visit today!  Please leave me a note and let me know that you were here.  I would love to visit with you!

Warmest Summery Wishes!

Hello my friends!
*
Welcome to the 109th run of "Sunday Favorites"
*
I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend!  It has been a busy, busy summer thus far!  My sister and brother-in-law from Texas have been here visiting and just left a few days ago.  We had a wonderful visit and it was nice being able to catch up on family news!  I do apologize for missing the Sunday Favorites party last weekend but sometimes blogging just needs to be "put on hold" while we live life!  Don't you agree?
*
Today for Sunday Favorites, I thought I would share one of my "favorite" posts called "Lovin' Those Teacup Blues"...originally posted on February 28, 2010.  I hope that you enjoy!  I'm looking forward to seeing your Sunday Favorites posts this week and visiting with you, my friends!  You can sign up for the party at the end of this post!

"Lovin' Those Teacup Blues"
*
*
*Hello my friends...I hope that you're having a marvelous Monday!
*
Ohhh my...it seems that I am always running behind! Today I wanted to show you another one of my "After Christmas Sale" treasure finds. Yes...I'm just now getting around to taking a few photos and posting these little pretties! I hope that you enjoy!!!*
*
Lovin' Those Teacup Blues...
**
I found these pretty teacups and saucers at Tender Heart Treasures during their "after Christmas sale". I had a two-fold reason for purchasing these pretty blue and white teacups...
*
1) I really do need teacups!
2) I have nothing...absolutely nothing...blue!
*
Well...they seemed like great reasons...don't you think? Hehe!
*
There were four different patterns available. I just looked at the Tender Heart Treasures online website in hopes of telling you the names of each pattern, however...they were no longer available! I will include the website address for this sweet little shop...they have some really pretty things over there and are very reasonably priced!
*
*
Teacup #1
*
*
*
*
I just love the sweet bird and beautiful flowers on this teacup! It reminds me of Spring. Ahhh...Spring!!!
*
For the photos, I am using a beautiful lacy metal charger plate that was a gift from my dearest friend, Gloria (Happy To Be). Gloria, I have already gotten "miles of use" out of these sweet charger plates...I just love them!!! Thank you again, my sweet friend! The white napkins, with the gorgeous lace, came from Target...from their Shabby Chic product line. And...once again, we are at the table in my red French Country dining room.
*
*Teacup #2
*
*
*
*
Oooh...another sweet little bird...he is resting upon a rose! Do you see the little butterfly?
*
*Teacup #3
*
*
*
*
This teacup has a beautiful bouquet of flowers!*
*
Teacup #4
*
*
*
**
More lovely flowers! I love the pattern of the flowers on the saucer! Sooo pretty!!!
**
*Lovin' Those Teacup Blues...
*
The 10 oz. porcelain teacups come with a porcelain infuser...so sweet for brewing the perfect cup of tea! Here in the photo mosaic, you can see the teacups with their infuser and lid.
*
I did mention that I found these pretties during the "after Christmas sale"...didn't I?
They were on sale for $4.95 each. Not too bad!!!
*
*
Well my sweet friends...are you ready for a cup of tea?
