Hello my friends!!!
*
Welcome to the 94th run of "Sunday Favorites"
*
I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend! It has been a busy week at my place. I have begun to put away some of my home's winter decor and prepare for Spring! I have the worst case of "spring fever" this year! I'm ready for warmer weather and some of that spring green! Anyway, along with changing the seasonal decor at my place...comes the cleaning! Yuk!!! You know how that goes...changing things up always requires a good clean! I have so much that I would like to do and it seems that the older I get...the slower that I am! Just thought I would try and get a head start this year!
*
Today for Sunday Favorites, I am revisiting a post from June, 2009 that had a bit of my home's spring decor from that year. I hope you enjoy!

Have a super Sunday, my friends!

Just a little note: Sunday Favorites Criteria

When I first started the Sunday Favorites meme, my initial thought was to offer a solution for getting a post out on the weekend without having to spend alot of time doing so...weekends are just a busy time for most of us! Copying and pasting a previous post is so quick and easy. Not only is this a quick and easy solution to the busy weekends, but it's also an opportunity to dig back into our blog archives and share a favorite "past" post once again! Many of us spend alot of time and effort creating a post and it just seems a shame that it is viewed only once and then forgotten about!

I would like to reiterate that Sunday Favorites is a meme about sharing or revisiting a post from the PAST! If you have found that your post has been removed...then please read the instructions!

Thank you!!!

Cloche Party...and another pre-party preview!

Hello my friends! There is BIG news in blogland...we're having a party!!!

Cloche Party
Friday, June 19th
at Marty's place...A Stroll Through Life
*
I'm so excited about this fun little Cloche Party! For more information about the party just click HERE.

~~~~~
Yesterday I decided to do a Cloche Party preview..."Cherub in a Jar"! You can scroll down and take a peek if you'd like. Today I have another pre-party preview...
*"Bird's Nest Under Glass" *
This was a Spring vignette that I did for my dining room table!
*"Bird's Nest Under Glass" Cloche
I found this glass cloche on a pedistal at Hobby Lobby last Spring. It was on sale for $7...I just couldn't resist!!! The sweet little bird's nest was purchased at Dollar General for $3...I just love the pretty colored bird eggs! I tied a blue & white checked organza ribbon around the handle of the cloche...and Voila!!!
The "How To's" of this Vignette
Since this was a vignette to celebrate the new coming Spring season...I wanted to use lots of greenery and some pretty pastel colors. I decided to use a pastel rose print placemat for the base of the vignette. I placed the cloche in the center of the placemat and added a planter of ivy behind the cloche for some needed greenery. Then I placed my mercury glass goblets to each side of the cloche...and two silver candleholders with white candles to the left side of the vignette. Hmmm...now I needed something on the right side to bring balance...I think this Debbie Mumm bunny plate works well! What do you think? I remembered my little glass egg and added a cute little bunny figurine to it...then placed this to the left side of the vignette. Since it is glass and transparent it doesn't throw the balance of the vignette off! And...for the finale, I brought in two cast iron birds and placed them in front of the cloche!
Do you see the pretty glittery egg that is hanging by a ribbon from one of the candleholders? I found these darling eggs at Hobby Lobby. They have the sweetest vintage pictures of children on them! I just fell in love with them the moment I saw them!
*
My "Artsy" photo
A close up photo of the glass egg with the bunny figurine. Isn't this little bunny just darling...he's holding a little ladybug in his paws! Hehe!
I've been learning how to make mosaics...I've had so much fun!!!
I like your bits of Spring "under glass." They make for a lovely mosaic and remind us of better days to come. Good luck with the Spring Cleaning!
How sweet Chari! It certainly looks like spring. But I can't tell if the cloche party is in the future or was in the future when you originally posted this two years ago!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend!
Chari, I need to find myself a cloche. ;-)
I do have some apothecary jars. I'll have to see what I can come up with so I can join the fun. Yours are definitely making me think of spring. ~ Sarah
Love that little blue bird! Don't think I had discovered your blog when you first posted this, so I am very glad to see it.
Chari how good it is to be back and starting out with your post! How beautiful is that cloche. I've never done one before but am about to after reading this. I've seen your cloches before but it just so happens . . . that I have a real robins nest with an egg that was pitched for some reason. I put it on my front porch with some other things and it looks real cute. But the other day Bob came across another old robins nest so I think I will do one similar to yours.
Great post Chari and so informative.
That adorable little bunny coming out of the iris bloom is my favorite piece. Too cute.
Thanks for hosting us again Chari. It has been a while since I have been by and I have no excuse. I am not any busier than the rest of blogland. Well may than some of them but mostly we are all in the same busy boat. It is nice to re-post something that we had worked hard on before.
Thanks again.
Hello again dearest Chari,
Your birds under glass are so adorable! The ribbon on it is the perfect shade of blue, too! How did you manage that.
The bunny in the apothecary jar is just too sweet! I love it. It looks like you have a lot of fun with your sweet little vignettes. I love them all.
Hugs, Cindy
