Hello my friends!!!
*
Welcome to the 87th run of "Sunday Favorites"
*
I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend! It's time again for another Sunday Favorites repost party! Can you believe that we are now on the 87th week of these fun filled repost parties? Hehe! How time flies when you're having fun!
*
I have been busy this week trying to redecorate my home after taking down all the Christmas pretties. I'm still trying to "cozy" up our place, after all we are still in the throes of winter, however...when I started looking for a favorite post to share for the Sunday Favorite's party this week...my heart began to wander...thinking ahead to warmer days! So I thought I would share a post from last June...called "Lilacs & Tea". I hope you enjoy!
Have a super Sunday!!!

Just a little note: Sunday Favorites Criteria
When I first started the Sunday Favorites meme, my initial thought was to offer a solution for getting a post out on the weekend without having to spend alot of time doing so...weekends are just a busy time for most of us! Copying and pasting a previous post is so quick and easy. Not only is this a quick and easy solution to the busy weekends, but it's also an opportunity to dig back into our blog archives and share a favorite "past" post once again! Many of us spend alot of time and effort creating a post and it just seems a shame that it is viewed only once and then forgotten about!
I would like to reiterate that Sunday Favorites is a meme about sharing or revisiting a post from the PAST!
Thank you!!!

My favorite post from: June 7, 2010

Hello my friends...I hope you're having a marvelous day!
*
I'd love for you to join me for a little refreshment....
*
*
Just taking a little time out of the day to relax...
*
*
Ahhh...the scent of freshly cut lilacs...is there anything better?
*
*
Hmmm...maybe sitting down for a cup of tea with the scent of lilacs filling the air? Yes...I'm thinking that it doesn't get any better than this!!!
*
Today I have prepared tea in my french country dining room!
*
Lilacs...A Tea Table Centerpiece
*
A white ironstone pitcher filled with a large bouquet of freshly cut lilacs is elevated upon a pedestal cake plate that I covered with a lacy doily. On either side of the lilac bouquet, you will find a white pillar candle in a candleholder with pretty dangling crystals...they seem to fit perfectly with the lilacs! I have set my new cloche (a gift from my friend Gloria)...on a pretty lacy charger plate...for a little something "pretty" to look at while having tea! A stack of pretty teacups are peeking out at us from under the cloche!
*
*
*
*
One white ironstone teacup along with two olive green transferware teacups are stacked so sweetly under the pretty cloche!
*
*
My newest white teapot...elevated on a pretty pedestal cake plate!
*
*
I love the shape of this pretty teapot...and ohhh, just look at the pretty scalloped edge at the top! I found this sweet little teapot at TJ Maxx for just $7.99! The pedestal cake plate with the reticulated edge also came from TJ Maxx. I love that store! Hehe! I wove two ribbons through the edges of the cake plate...a white organza ribbon and a thinner light green ribbon.
*
*
A white ironstone sugar and creamer...I love my ironstone!!!
*
*
Special Handcrafted "Just for Me" Teacups...
*
These teacups are very special to me...my mama made them for me many, many years ago! I thought the lavender colored grapes on the cups would look pretty with the bouquet of lilacs! There is a matching bowl as well...you can see it in the bottom right-hand side of the photo (there is a better pic of it down below). I just love the pretty ruffly edges on this bowl!
*
Once again I have used one of my "Cluny Lace" charger plates as a tray for the teacups. They are sitting atop a new white linen napkin that has the prettiest little flowers embroidered on it!
*
*
I love the pretty lavender colored grapes and green leaves...and ohhh, those beautiful grapevine handles!!! I also just adore the fluted lines on the feet of the teacups!
*
*
Just a couple photos of the candleholders...I love how the dangling crystals are catching the sunlight! Sooo pretty with the lavender lilacs in the background...don't you think?
*
*
*
Ahhh...here is the matching bowl to the teacups! Isn't it beautiful?
*
*
New Linens...Floral Vine
*
I found these beautiful napkins at Bumble Bee Linens (online). They are actually little guest towels but I am using them for napkins today. I love, love, LOVE the gorgeous floral vine embroidery and elegant drawnwork of these linens!!!
*
*
A close-up photo of the pretty "spring green" colored napkins.
*
My sweet Grandma made these beautiful embroidered napkins for me when I was just 17 yrs. old! They are one of my most precious treasures!!! I have had them out in my dining room since I used the "spring green" in my spring and summer decor this year!
*
*
Ahhhh...lilacs!!!

ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
The lilac and green are such wonderful colors together, and you know that I love your teacups in the cloche. It is just so pretty. Beautiful tea and definitely one of my favorites. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI know I just dreamed of spring and the smell of lilac's....
ReplyDeleteHi Chari!
ReplyDeleteI love this tea! Lilacs are my all time favorite flower! Every since I was a little girl and we had a lilac tree outside my bedroom window, I have loved them. And here is a silly "little girl" memory. Since no one else our our street had a lilac bush, I thought that this lilac bush was a special gift from God to just me! LOL When they bloomed, I was so excited because I thought that meant I had been a good girl all year!
Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
Hugs, Diann :)
Chari,
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the smell of lilacs, too.
Ahhhhhhh the lilacs are sooo wonderfully soft and romantic! I don't think you can go wrong with a large bouquet of lilacs...And the smell!.... amazing!
ReplyDeleteI wondered "where did she find the perfect cups to go with those lilacs?" And it makes them that much more special that they were from your mama. And those beautiful green napkins from your grandma are wonderful too! Glad you re-posted this Chari because I must have missed them the first time around. And thank you also for allowing me to participate in my first Sunday Favorites! Vanna
Lilacs- I love the lilacs- I can almost smell that wonderful fragrance that even one little bloom will fill the room with! Oh you are so making me wanting spring to arrive Chari!!
ReplyDeleteThose teacups and the whole table setting is just fabulous!

Soooo pretty! Love the apple green ~ makes me think of spring. It's been so cold here, bitterly cold. I can't remember when we last saw sunshine! :-) This post makes me happy and I thank you.

Hi Chari!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ... and guess what? I also went back to June 2010 and re-posted a tea time story.
Only mine is SO simple compared to yours -- which is lush and gorgeous.
I adore the green with the lilac; beautiful. And OH how I miss cutting lilacs from the garden to bring inside.
Spring!
Cass
Just looking at this post fills me with the wonderful scent of lilacs! So beautiful! I always like seeing those little green and white cups and saucers. The colors are all amazing together, and the linen is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea-time tablescape! Our lilac suffered some damage in the blizzard this week, so your beautiful blooms are especially appreciated...we may not have any this year! I like how you're using new pieces and custom made things from family. Thanks for hosting Sunday Favorites!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to link up a Sunday favorite with you, and I'm excited to be a part of the fun. The lilacs are amazing and there is nothing like beautiful linens to pull a table together. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteForgive the "newbie". I have the post in the proper place now! Learn something new everyday!
ReplyDeleteOh my the colors are to die for! Love all of the ironstone, the lilacs are just gorgeous. I MUST plant some!

Great idea to be able to just pull an old post and refreshen it. I don't have that old of a blog but I picked one of my favorites. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHi Chari,
ReplyDeleteI just joined your party and have you on my sidebar! Weekends are busy so this is a great way to post and also let new bloggers see an older post of yours. Love those lilacs and sure can't wait to see them again instead of the snow that never seems to go away:)
I'm also a new follower!
