Playing with Photo Effects...Sooo Fun!

*

Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Today I am joining in "A Few of my Favorite Things Saturday" party.
You will find the credits for this fun filled party at the end of the post.
*
Playing with Photo Effects...Sooo Fun!
*
One of my favorite things to do...is to play with photo effects! So I thought I might share with you a few of the photos from a recent post that I did called "A Summer's Tea on the Veranda". I will show the "real" photo first and then I will show you a couple different photo effects of the real photo.
*
These photo effects are one of the fun features that Photobucket offers.
If you would like to go over to Photobucket to check it out...you can click HERE.

A Summer's Day Tea on the Veranda

I often use a photo effect from one of my "real" photos to make an "introduction photo" to announce my post subject. I always have so much fun playing with Photobucket's photo effects. The photo above was achieved using the "color sketch" effect option. Then I added a border/frame and text to the photo...and Voila!!!

This photo may look like I used a photo effect...however, I didn't! The lighting was just right on my veranda at the time I took this photo. The back side of the veranda was in the shade...thus making for a very dark, almost black...background behind the teapot and teacup. I just thought it turned out so pretty! It's one of my favorite photos!!!

Well my friends, thank you for indulging one of my favorite things to do...playing with photo effects!
Do you have a favorite?
*
Photography...and a New Camera
*
I have also really enjoyed the photography part of blogging! I admit that I'm a mere amateur but I am desiring to learn more. I am thinking about getting a new camera. The camera that I use now is just a regular "point and shoot"...Sony Cybershot. Do you have any suggestions for a good DSL camera...I sure would appreciate your input, my friends!

Hi Dear Chari,
This is just fabulous my friend!
I am amazed by all the beautiful effects you have created!
And girlfriend you do so well with your camera now that I am sure everyone thinks you have one of the more expensive models. I sure did!
We turned cool and rainy today. I mean really cool, like low 60's. What a shock to my system.
No big plans this weekend. We are doing some painting and maybe some visiting with family.
Big Hugs,
Cindy

Looks like fun! I really have to learn about this because I think I would enjoy playing with the photos! Can't help on the camera though, mine is a point and shoot too. Happy weekend:@)

Hi Chari! Oh, your photos look beautiful! I've played with Photo Bucket some but most of the time I use PhotoScape.
I wouldn't know you weren't using one of those fancy dancy cameras because your pictures always look so perfect to me.
I need to get one too! I'm pointing and shooting with my little Olympus.
Have a great weekend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Chari..and Ladies..
I've said it many times..
The art of photography is achieved by the natural artistry within you.
as shown, the same effects can be done with a simple point and shoot as with the bigger more fancy models.
knowing how to use light and color to your advantage, as well as having and using a good editing program can make your photos go from drab to fab!
my personal cameras are a simple Kodak EasyShare and a Nikon D40.
I have Arthritis in my hands so weight was a HUGE factor as well as settings.I would love to get more lenses than necessarily a more expensive camera. Also, for a camera which will be used on a daily basis as mine is, I suggest strongly in purchasing the service contract. By having done so, my camera has essentially been rebuilt twice..without costing me an extra penny..and the contract entitles you of a new battery for the camera..
For editing, I use Picasa..and love it!
warm sandy hugs..

Chari!!

These are beautiful pictures.
Each and every one should be framed.
I always say I am going to check out these sites and never do!
You should frame some of them!!

I have a very basic Canon and I am
partial to it. It's always taken good pictures
but it is nothing fancy.

Hope you have a
great holiday weekend, my friend!!

xoxo

Hi Chari-- I just can't get into playing too much on the computer with the photos. About all I do is an occasional mosaic. I do love to see all of the effects you achieve, however. Cool today, but hot tomorrow, I guess. I've been cooking all afternoon today, with more tomorrow; so wish the cool weather would hold. Mike will be home, plus our daughter & family will be in and out. We're (meaning Bob & others) are pouring some concrete steps - my place is in the kitchen. They are all excited because I'm going all out with Mexican food tomorrow. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend. Sally

Hi Miss Chari,

Oh these are so pretty..the tea vignette is so beautiful and how wonderful the effects you added. Adds a whole other dimension to what's already gorgeous! I've not learned to do any fancy effects yet...have to put that on my things to do list!! LOL

Chari, you are the Queen of Photo Bucket. These are beautiful! Of course, you had a beautiful vignette to begin with. I love all of the effects you've created. You are just so darn clever. Thank you so much for sharing these for Favorite Things Saturday. I may have to go back and try Photo Bucket again. (I feel like I just got PhotoScape figured out though)! Have a wonderful holiday weekend. laurie

Hey Girlfriend...
Love what you have done with the photo effects. I do graphic design, but I rarely mess with the photo effects. You have now inspired me so I'll have to give it a try. Of course these are some of my favorite pictures you have posted. I even went and bought some of those roses at the Dollar Tree. I couldn't figure out what they were until I actually found them. You are such a smarty!!!! Keep up the GREAT work... miss talking to you!!!

Very cool. One of these days I'll have to play with those effects.

In the meantime, would you mind sending that floral tea cup my way? It's adorable!

WOW Chari, I love it! You are so talented to be able to do that! I have seen different effects on other blogs but have never tried to do it myself!

Enjoy your Saturday my dear friend! BIG HUGS!

Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason
seemed to be on the net the easiest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
