Autumn Has Arrived at Happy To Design...Let's Celebrate with a Cloche Party!

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Autumn 2010 Has Arrived at Happy To Design!
*
Autumn is my favorite season of the year! I love the cool, brisk air and the changing of the leaves...ohhh...all those warm, rich autumn colors! I have been doing a little decorating at my place the past couple of weeks. I love changing out my home's decor with the seasons. Away with the light whites and the bright spring greens that dressed my home for summer...and ENTER AUTUMN!!! I do love my warm golds, rich reds, moody olive greens, and toasty browns! The living area of my home is normally done in these very colors...they make decorating for autumn a cinch! Hehe!
*
Celebrating Autumn and an Autumn Cloche Party
*
What better way to celebrate autumn than with an Autumn Cloche Party! Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life is hosting this awesome autumn party. You will find the credits at the end of this post. Thank you, Marty!*
*
~Autumn Acorns and Pheasant Feathers~
*

*
Autumn has arrived in my olive green living room.
*
This is one of my most favorite areas in our home...this large window at the end of our living room. I have a dark cherry wood sofa table placed in front of the window and I always try to accessorize it beautifully because it faces the front of our home and everyone sees it.
*
Autumn Acorns and Pheasant Feathers Cloche
*
An embroidered, velvety table runner spun in rich golds and olive green florals makes for a good foundation for my autumn vignette.
*
The star of this vignette...my newly decorated autumn acorns with pheasant feathers...cloche!
*

*
This cloche is a bit on the small side...it only stands 8in. tall...but as the old saying goes...great things come in small packages! Hehe!
*
Miniature Acorns
*
* I just love the miniature acorns that fill the cloche.  My three grandsons collected them for me a few years ago. Now some of you have already seen this little cloche done up with the minature acorns...so I was searching for something new and creative to add to it.
*
Pheasant Feathers
*
Yes...pheasant feathers! Using the pheasant feathers to embellish my little autumn cloche...came about quite by accident. I was using pheasant feathers in my autumn decor in other areas of my living room when the light bulb came on! Hehe!
*
*My honey brought these fabulous pheasant feathers home to me...aren't they gorgeous? All I did was arrange the feathers around the edge of the cloche...slighty sticking them under the glass so that they would stay put. So simple but I just love, love, LOVE how it turned out!!!
*
Pheasant feathers just "sing" autumn to me!
*

*
I added a pretty gold satin ribbon with a decorative copper key to the top of the cloche...and VOILA!!!
*
My french girl bust sitting atop an old book is situated just to the right of the cloche. I am using two antique gold colored candleholders that are embellished with a toasty brown and cream colored damask pattern...so pretty!
*

*
Autumn Florals
*
A very tall autumn floral arrangement stands front and center in this vignette. I found this beautiful antique gold and olive green urn/vase awhile back at Hobby Lobby...on sale of course! Hehe! You will see in later photos that the urn/vase has a beautiful Fleur De Lis design on it. I love it!!!
*

*
*
*
*
A bird's eye view...*Ohhhh...just look at all the rich autumn colors
sported by the pheasant feathers...sooo pretty!
*

*
An autumn vignette for my living room.*
*
Now...let's move into the dining room.
*
*Autumn Florals in a Metal Apothecary
*
*
The wood stove in our French Country dining room.
*
Oh yes, it won't be long till we build our first fire of the autumn season! But for now...I have placed a tall metal apothecary filled with moss and autumn flowers on the wood stove.
*

*
*
*

*
I found this bronze colored metal apothecary at Penneys a couple of years ago. It stands pretty tall at 21 in. and makes a nice statement! A little moss...autumn flowers...and a pinecone or two...fill the apothecary nicely I think! I really like how the bronze color looks against the olive green wall. As you are about to see...two of the walls in my dining room are done in olive green...the other two walls are red.
*
An Autumn Vignette on the Buffet
*
*
The dining room buffet.
*
I really enjoy decorating my red and olive green dining room for autumn! I hope to share more of it in a later post...but in the meantime, I wanted to show you my new cloches!
*
Two New Cloches...
*
I have two new cloches to show for the party this time. Both are wire cloches...very french country looking...don't you think?
*

*
The smaller wire cloche was a recent find from Hobby Lobby (I love that place!). I really like the old distressed gray color...and do you see the sweet little bird sitting atop the cloche? He cinched the deal for me! Hehe!
*
I used a silver pedestal bowl for the base of the cloche...added a yellow-gold pillar candle and a bit of autumn berries garland...and VOILA!
*

*
This is a really tall wire cloche...measuring a stately 30 in.! As you can see, it towers well above my buffet lamps...I love it!
*
*I found this pretty cloche at our local gift shop two weeks ago. It was marked 50% off and the day I was there...the shop took another 25% off of that price...bringing the total down to just $12! Yeeehawww! The cloche sits upon an urn (which came with it) and also has an old distressed gray finish...and I love the chicken wire! Oooh...sooo very frenchy!!! I added a couple of autumn floral picks and the same berry garland that I used in the smaller cloche.
*
I really liked how this photo turned out...with the reflection of the tall cloche in the mirror. You can also see some of my white pitcher collection that is sitting on a shelf about the window in the mirror's reflection.
*

*
*
*
**
Autumn 2010 at Happy To Design...stay tuned...there is more to come!!!*
*

I am joining these fabulous parties today...
*
