Spring Green...A Spring Time Vignette!

*

*
Hello my friends...I'm so happy that you stopped in for a visit today!
*
Hmm...just when I think we are in for warmer weather here in Colorful Colorado...BANG! More cold weather and more snow strikes! Sheeshh! I know that so many of you are already experiencing Spring like weather. Ohhh, how I long for Spring! I'm ready for things to green up...I'm ready for some of that "Spring Green"!!!
*
I thought that maybe if I start to "green up" inside the house...our weather might follow suit! Hey...let a girl have her dreams! Hehe! Anyway, I have started a little Spring decor at my place. I always seem to start the new decor in my dining room...maybe because it's in the center of our living area...I'm really not sure...but I always start there.
*
*

I'm participating in Metamorphosis Monday today...here is a "before" shot of my dining room buffet!
*
**Before**

*
My dining room buffet in January and February. I called it "Silver Elegance"! I really did enjoy decorating with all my silver this year!
*
A silver soup tureen takes front and center position on the buffet. I also used several old silver candleholders, and alot of mercury glass; mercury glass candleholder goblets, tall finials, and several mercury glass ornaments. As you can see...they are all nestled ever so sweetly in pine boughs and pine cones!
*

*
The "Silver Elegance" of January and February gave way to....the "Spring Green" of March!
*
**After**
"Spring Green"...A Spring Time Vignette!

*
I really do have fun decorating my dining room buffet! This buffet is six feet long...nice sized...there's lots of room for pretties!!!
*
How about that for a metamorphosis? Hehe!
*

*
White & "Spring Green"
*
When I began to think about changing the decor for Spring...my first consideration was to lighten this space up! Not a real easy feat considering the dining room walls are red! I decided to bring in as much white as I possibly could. Then I wanted a second color to use as an "accent" color...I chose "Spring Green"! You know, that pretty yellow-green...it just feels like Spring to me!
*

*
"Spring Green"...A Spring Time Vignette
*
I used a new olive green table runner for the foundation. I found this pretty runner at Walmart on their clearance shelf for just $4. Using the olive green runner ties in with the color on the doors of the buffet.
*
Creamy White Florals in a White Ironstone Pitcher...
*
Well my friends, wished that I could tell you that this big bouquet of white flowers was real...but it's not! Nevertheless, it's still very pretty and practical! I love my faux flowers! Hehe! I used long stems of white lilacs mixed with white hydrangeas that have just a touch of that "Spring Green" color. I used a large white ironstone pitcher for the arrangement. It's a good sized pitcher standing about 12" tall. I love the frenchy detailing on it!
*
Candles...Candles...and More Candles!
*
I do love my candles! You even might say that I'm a candle fanatic! Hehe! But hey...if we ever had a storm and lost our electricity...we would be good to go! I decided to leave the four silver candleholders with the white candles for this vignette. However, I added a few "Spring Green" candles into the mix...using a few of my cut glass candleholders!
*

*
Bunnies...Bunnies...Lots of Bunnies!
*
Does anything say Spring like a sweet little bunny? I am using six little bunnies in this Spring Time vignette. Here are two of them!
*
My Happy Little Bunny on a Pedestal Plate...
*
I just adore this little bunny on the glass pedestal plate! He is sitting down with his little feet up in the air...how cute is that? Hehe! Do you see all that pretty "Spring Green" colored moss that the bunny is sitting on? I have to tell you that this pretty green colored moss came all the way from the mountains of California! My dearest friend, Gloria from Happy To Be...set me this moss! She grew it herself! Well...she had a little help from good ol' Mother Earth! But, isn't it pretty?
*
Thank you, Gloria!!!
*

*
Here is the second little bunny! I found him at the thrift shop for just $1.50!
*
See the beautiful "Spring Green" cloth napkins? My dear, sweet Grandma made those for me when I was just newly married! I also have a matching tablecloth! She embroidered each napkin with a pretty lavender flower! My Grandma was always embroidering, in fact..she was working on embroidered tea towels when she went to be with Jesus at the age of 93! This beautiful set of napkins and tablecloth is one of my most prized possessions!!!
*

*
A close-up of the second bunny, my "Spring Green" embroidered napkins, and one of the pretty cut glass candleholders that I recently found at a thrift shop for just $1/pair!
*

*
More Little Bunnies...
*
The taller bunny was another thrift store find. The smaller bunny beside him and the bunny under the cloche were on sale at Hobby Lobby for $1.50/ea.
*
And...I am finally getting to use my pretty bunny casserole dish that I found at my favorite Antique Flea Market for just $8. I just squealed and did my little "happy dance" when I seen this pretty covered dish! It's a nice sized covered casserole...measuring about 14" long!
*

*
I love my bunny under the cloche! I used more of that pretty "Spring Green" colored moss that Gloria sent to me!
*

*
A Bunny Mosaic

*
*
"Spring Green" on the Dining Room Table...

*
A "Spring Green" Table...
*
I'm sure that I'll be adding to the dining room table centerpiece as time goes by...but for the meantime...
*

*
A "Spring Green" Place Setting...
*
This pretty set of olive green transferware is called Kensington Staffordshire Balmoral 1801 ironstone. I found an entire set of 32 pieces on ebay for just $10 plus shipping! This is one of my favorite sets of dishes...I just love transferware and I think that the olive green color is fairly rare!
*

*
A white ironstone tea/coffee pot by JG Meakins sits atop a pretty white cake pedestal plate. I found this pretty plate at TJ Maxx for just $5.99! Would you care for a cup of tea?
*
Ohhh...and look...a couple of sweet Spring birds have come for a little visit! Hehe!
*

*
I just love this pretty pedestal cake plate with its reticulated edge! I added a pretty "Spring Green" ribbon to the white ribbon that was already there. Oooh...so pretty!
*

*
This isn't a very good view of the white, ceramic lattace work tray but it really is a beautiful piece! I found it at the thrift shop for just $4.99! It measures about 12"x19"...a nice sized tray! I had a few "Spring Green" colored bamboo placemats that I rolled up and tied with a white organza ribbon. I just thought I would add them to the tray for just another "splash" of that pretty color!
*

*
And Voila...there you have it...a Spring time vignette done in white and "Spring Green"! I hope that you enjoyed!!!

Hello Sweet Chari--this Spring Green has me "hoppin'" for spring! We down here in Alabama have, if you can believe it, still been having cold snaps mixed in with some spring teases. I'm praying that this week we warm up FOR GOOD! I loved the silver elegance but am absolutely feeling the spring green, too, with all that green that so much so says LIFE and all those adorable bunnies!!!!!!!!!!! I've been out for a few weeks, but am so happy to be back and able to visit you!!
Love, hugs and turquoise joy,

What a beautiful trip to Spring, even if the weather isn't cooperating. How lucky for you to have gotten that moss from your friend. I'm so into moss this year and can't find that much. I really want to find moss balls, but haven't had much luck.

You got an amazing deal on that set of green transferware. Was that ebay?

Chari,
This is a wonderful vignette and I agree your large buffet is the perfect playground for creating them. The bunnies are so sweet and definitely shout spring. Bravo for mixing the dark green runner with the lighter shades of greens. It pulls the look together beautifully and integrates the buffet gracefully. Your grandmother’s handwork is beautiful and what a treasured family keepsake and heirloom to remember her by. It’s nice you displayed them in such a special way for us to enjoy also.
I hope the sun is shining once again in Colorado, but I know how fickle it can be. I sure miss my home state, but live by the motto “bloom where you’re planted”. Have fun in Vegas and win a big jackpot so all the bells and whistles go off!

Well friend when did you fancy your blog all up- I love the new look! I read in google reader so don't get to see the blogs format much of the time since I have been so busy I sneak in and out!

Thank you for your prayers- they are so precious to us!! We met with the couple we will be renting the building from and i got to take some pictures which I hope to get up soon. We are so excited about what the Lord has planned for this building (found out today it used to be a bar it it's day! Isn't the Father's sense of humor just so funny!)

I haven't done a thing to the dining room since before we left. I still have the small scaffold set in there even!! WE have been home and it is still going 100 miles a minute it seems. I did get all the wallpaper off- now need to clean the walls and figure out if I am going to paint of do an old world type texture. Thought I would live with the dirty walls for a bit and see if inspiration comes!!!

I have my little Easter basket swap that I need to finish up and get out this week so the few moments I have I have been working on those. I have had that best time playing with the baskets and am excited to show them off when I get them to their new owners!

I love you pretty spring sideboard look!! Can you believe I still don't have my Easter things out- my where is time flying!!!???

Well friend better stop now - we really must get together for tea one day- my fingers don't work as well as my mouth which is probably a very good thing!!

Hi Chari,
I just thought I would stop by and say hi! Hope all is well with you my dear. I have had a rather ordinary week except that the weather has been gorgeous! Highs in the mid-sixties! But of course, it's going to turn nasty again just in time for the week-end and next week. ARRRG! It's such a bummer to go back to snow. I am sure you understand since we seem to have similar weather. Big Hugs, Cindy
