Tabletops, Vignettes, and Favorite Accessories
*
Hello my friends! I hope that you're having a terrific Tuesday!
*
It's time for Tuesday's "Tabletops, Vignettes, and Favorite Accessories"...hosted by our very own Barb over at Grits and Glamour! What a fun filled Tuesday event! Please go over and see what lovelies that Barb has for us today and while you're over there you can visit all of the other participants!
Thank you, Barb...for hosting this fun filled party for us and giving us the chance to play house!

*
A Living Room Vignette...
*
The vignette that I would like to share with you today for "Tabletops, Vignettes, and Favorite Accessories" can be found in my living room.
*
My living room is all wrapped up in it's warm wintery frocks! I really do enjoy the rich, regal colors of olive green, burgandy, and the gold accents of this room! They are perfect to warm our hearts and souls during the cold, Colorado winters!
*
*
A Vignette..."Fairer Than Pearls"
*
The vignette that I would like to show you today sits nestled upon one of my favorite pieces of furniture...a rich, cherry wood, sofa table! This pretty table sits in front of my favorite window! I just love this big, beautiful arched window!!! It let's so much sunlight into the living room...sooo very welcomed during the cold, Colorado winters!
*
There is only one little problem! Although I just adore all the sunlight...this window is very difficult to photograph! Here are a few of my best photos.
*
*
I love the olive green and gold tapestry table runner! It "grounds" the vignette nicely!
*
*
A tall sofa lamp sits on the left hand side of the table. I love the soft light that it provides in the evening hours! You can see that I have added a beautiful olive green and burgandy tassel to the lamp shade...just a little extra "pretty"!
*
*
A little cherub sits under the lamp. I just love my little cherub...he is holding a leaf in his hands...and a sweet little bird has come to rest upon the leaf! I found the cherub in the garden section of Hobby Lobby at the end of the gardening season for just $3...90% off the original price!
*
Another sweet bird can be found at the feet of the cherub.
*
*
I added a pretty gold filigree brooch and a strand of pearls to the leaf. I love how this looks...it takes me back to a time long ago...to a finer day...a fairer day!!! Sooo pretty!!!
*
*
A Sea Hath Its Pearls...
*
The sea hath its pearls,
The heaven hath its stars;
But my heart, my heart
My heart hath its love.
*
Great are the sea and the heaven,
Yet greater is my heart;
And fairer than pearls and stars
Flashes and beams my love.
*
Thou little, youthful maiden,
Come unto my heart great;
My heart, and the sea, and the heaven
Are melting away with love.
(a poem written by Heinrich Heine)
*
*
*
A little french girl bust sits atop a couple of old books...on the right hand side of the table.
*
A mini cloche full of gold buttons can be found atop a small glass pedestal plate next to the french girl bust!
*
*
In the center of the table...I have evergreen boughs, red and green sugared berries, and sprigs of creamy white pearls. It's still very much winter here in Colorado...I like decorating with pine throughout the season!
I love the frenchy, white filigree, finial that is so sweetly nestled into the pine boughs!!!
*
*
A close up shot of the mini cloche full of pretty gold buttons!

Well my friends...I'm so happy that you came by today for a visit! I hope that you enjoyed seeing my "Fairer Than Pearls" vignette! I would love for you to leave me a comment and let me know that you were here so that I can come to your place for a visit!!!

Beyond sweet, Ms Chari!~the interplay of objects is like a love affair!
ReplyDeleteI am working on a garden sculpture bust this month...and I delighted in reading and viewing your post..it proved to vastly inspirational!
Oh my goodness, Chari! That is so gorgeous that I don't think I'll show and tell anything of mine! It would pale against your vignette! You DO have talented hands!
ReplyDeleteI guess the lamb in Pampers will have to do for today!
how perfectly divine...I love it all! would you mind if I stopped by to visit, I'd love to sit a spell in that beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteHi Chari! Oh, Dear One - everything is gorgeous! I love your style! Love your bargains and how you put everything together.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Chari! I'm finally kind of getting back into blogging after my surgery. The surgery on the shoulder is doing really well; but the asthma that resulted from the anesthetic is giving me fits. I'm still on oxygen at night, but we are doing a bunch of tests this week to see just what is going on. Oh, yuk, I hate to be inconvenienced by my aging body!! Hope this finds you well, but know you are probably having health issues, too, with this weather. We had snow last night, sunshine and warmer this a.m., but now it is cold and snowy again. Your living room looks warm and inviting, though; so know you are snuggled in. Sally
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty! I really like the jewelry in the cherub's leaf. I started to put a small cherub candle holder in my bathroom with jewelry in it back a while ago, but knew it would not be a good combination with hair spray.
ReplyDeleteChari, this is so beautiful. Everything you do is so romantic. I love the way you add things like gold buttons and pearls to make a vignette so much more interesting. You have such a soft touch, and it adds up to so much beauty. laurie
ReplyDeleteSo nice to get another glimpse of your beautiful living room. The vignette is nice and thanks for sharing all those details, as well as the poem. Hope you're having a grand time with your family visiting!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty. I love it all especially the girl holding the pearls and brooch. Unexpected and lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous!!! I love everything about your vignette. You just reminded me that I have a cherub almost just like yours. I will need to find it & bring it out for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! You have a great eye and the cherub is a wonderful touch
ReplyDeletexoxo Pattie
So very pretty! What a fabulous find on the exquisite cherub. She's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteChari, your living room is so pretty and I just love the vignette in front of the window. The pearls are a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteChari~~
ReplyDeleteI have always loved your living room and this vignette is one of the reasons why. The statuary makes it so romantic and how you personalize it all with jewelry and fabric. SO pretty!!

I love the colors in your living room and your table top is beautiful with the pearls and cherub.
ReplyDeleteEverything is just so sweet. That cherub with the pearls is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! Love your cherub.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely room!
ReplyDeletePearls are just amazing creatures aren't they? I love them everywhere and would venture to say pearls are this girls best friend. I'm loving that statue holding the pearls. Sweet find.
ReplyDeleteagain, beautiful, Chari! I get so many ideas from you. I love cherubs. I have a few! inside and out. We don't have Hobby Lobby here, I wish we did.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful and gives me ideas for my dresser top. I know I have too many small things and I need some larger objects. I love the poem...anything about the sea moves me! ♥
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous! So romantic!
ReplyDeleteLove the cherub and the French girl bust! I enjoyed this vignette a lot!
I have the same problem with taking pictures by a window in our living room!
Katherine

Lynn
Love your living room, the colours look so rich and inviting! The table in front of your window (and the window!) is gorgeous. The vignette you have created on it is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteDD
I just love coming over here to visit! I always know, that I am in for a treat! Your living room is beautiful, and the vignette as well! Love the little cherub holding the bird and pearls! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't photograph my vignette yesterday, either, because of the sun. So I used an old one! :) It'll have to do until I can catch a shady day! LOL!
~hugs, Rhonda :)
Chari, your living room is just stunning and I always love to see the beautiful vignettes that you create on this table. I love all of your pretty pearls and your buttons too. So pretty and the light from the window just makes everything glow. Love it all. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteWELL MY OH MY, DEAREST CHERI,
ReplyDeleteHOW UTTERLY DELIGHTFUL TO HEAR FROM YOU MY DEAREST FRIEND!!.., Here is my little 'mini book' of a reply my dear!.., Hehe!
Though it has been awhile, I certainly have always wondered how you do it all!~ You're truly exceptional and amazing my dear friend!! Yet I also truly do understsand how busy things can and do get!..,YOU'LL CATCH UP; IT JUST TAKES TIME!
I am always unceasingly amazed at how the Lord works!~ I have been thinking of you fondly and lovingly lately and wondering how you are and meaning to post another comment!~ Yet life gets in the way!
Speaking of which, I have been having such frustrating trouble lately with the computer, especially with my re-entry into blogland and blogging; (even with recent upgrades and an excellant firewall)~ I was perplexed and discouraged to say the least!..,
Thanks so very much Cheri for sharing re., the possibility of a wiget virus with the falling snow effect widget!~ I was so discouraged that I wondered what was happening? ~ The thought pained me so deeply, I began to wonder if I could bear to blog again!~ Yet, I simply adore blogging and the best part is the precious and fabulous people I meet!
I have sincerely tried so lovingly, long and hard lately to genuinely focus on others, (sadly and with little to no responce, I was beginnging to feel like Joan Crawfords character from the infamous, sad and therefore somewhat dreadful 'Mommy Dearest' movie;apparently when her movie career waned she was said to have felt like;"bow office poison"!~I'm somewhere between, 'Hehe' and moreso though,'oh-my!!"~ (I even joked about that to my husband; as I detest self pity)!!
I feel so much relieved to think that in part;( whereas I realize and celebrate that 'it's not personal' and there are many delightful blogs out there to understandably capture one's attention); therefore I was not cast aside and being ignored..., (Really not by any one in particular, just in general, as I was beginning to be concerned about)..,Perhaps others had tried to no avail to get through as well and perhaps could not! What a relief!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear friend for writing to me and also for wanting to take part in Tuesday Tea For Two! You've made my day precious lady!!
(There is always, Wednesday Tea For Me and Thee, if you'd care to try Cheri, incase you feel it's too late for, Tuesday Tea For Two)?
However,as I always say ; "the tea trolley will be serving and picking up participants all day long on TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY!".., I'd simply be 'over the moon' with delight to have you partake my dear friend!!
You're post today is almost too lovely for words!~ How do you do it? Exquisite!.., and those pearls, so, sooo lovely!!
Thanks for the 50th happy birthday wish and I'm delighted to hear of you family time with loved ones!..,
Please do kindly try once again to post a comment on the Plumed Pen blog, when you get a moment my dear; I'll be so relieved to see if you can get through Cheri!..,
(My dear friend Lady Pamela, a.k.a. Paper Butterfly, got through after I removed the widget, and I was also able to leave my own test comment successfully)!..,
She and I talk every Tuesday, whereas we adore to keep in touch!~ I miss her as she lives thousands of miles away, yet talking , sharing and praying together makes all the difference!~ She's such a treasure!!
Much love and may God richly bless you Cheri, my treasured blog friend!!
Cheers hugs and blessings from Wanda Lee @ The Plumed Pen
Oops!.., I guess by now , you may not know whether 'to laugh or cry', after reading that lengthy "epistle' Cheri!..,Just in case your wondering;"what on earth"?!?
ReplyDelete.., I chuckled when I reread my comment post; I meant to say instead; "BOX office..,not "BOW office"!
Chari, thanks so much for the gracious comments on my guestroom and blog. I love the vignettes you have done. Love the pearls and the texture of the concrete statue together. Just beautiful. Thanks for following my blog and I will do the same. I look forward to your posts, too....Kim
ReplyDeleteChari-I love your cherub! It almost looks as if the birds have been "stealing" trinkets to bring as gifts..shiny trinkets! You have a gift for putting things together to make a beautiful vignette--always makes me want a seat and a visit in your living room. Gorgeous table too!
ReplyDeleteLovely and I think you have done an amazing job on redecorating that entire room. Always fun to view your posts. Happy Valentine's day.
ReplyDeleteJoyce
Chari -- your home is beautiful! Thank you for your nice comments on my Sunday Favorites post. I love visiting your blog because I get a taste of a different lifestyle from my own -- and I am glad you like visiting mine for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to say thanks for popping by to both of my blogs today Cheri; your post is up for Wednesday Tea For Me And Thee on The Plumed Pen blog...,
ReplyDeleteHow's that for 'short and sweet'?
(Yet I do also chuckle dearest Cheri, at how we both share the same penchant for the longest posts in blog history; I love it too)!..,Hehe!
Cheers my friend from Wanda Lee @ The Plumed Pen
P.S.~ Those cherubs and the little french girl with all the pearls, pedestals and the ribbon placed just so.., Ooh la la!.., Love, love, love it!!
Chari, I love your blog. You truly are an interior designer. What beauty, what accessories, what talent! Would you come over to my house and decorate? lol Iowa is also still firmly entranced in winter, as you said Colorado is...I heard they didn't have enough snow in Vancouver...wow, I'd happily share. I look forward to continuing to read your blog entries and as a gardener, I'm also interested in your outside design. We just love Colorado, one of our favorite vacation spots is Estes Park. Thanks for sharing your beauty and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Beth
It's difficult to find experienced people on this subject, however, you seem like you know what you're talking
ReplyDeleteabout! Thanks
