My favorite post: September 18, 2009
Welcome Autumn!!!
Hello my friends...I hope that you've had a wonderful week!
I've spent the entire week getting ready for Autumn. Since Autumn is my favorite season...I really enjoy autumn decorating! For me...it's like an annual "rite of passage" or my way of ushering in the season!
"Seasonal Snippets"
My autumn decorating is finished...well at least for the most part! I'm still doing a bit of "tweaking" here and there! Hehe!!! My days have been consumed with deep cleaning...decorating...crafting...and more cleaning! I just haven't had the time to take photos and post...but I'm getting to it! In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share some "Seasonal Snippets"!
Yes...SEASONAL SNIPPETS!!!
*Def: Snippets - a small piece snipped off; a small bit, scrap, or fragment.
I'm thinking that "Seasonal Snippets" would make a great autumn blog party...a precursor or prelude of what is to come! Just a glimpse to whet the appetite!!! Hehe! So without further ado...
*
Seasonal Snippets...The Fruits of Fall!!!
All of the photos you will see are "snippets" of a few of the autumn vignettes that I have done at my place! This idea came to me when I took a close-up photo of an earlier vignette. A bird's eye view...with all the beautiful details!!!
It really is...all in the details"!!!
Ahhh...the beautiful deep, rich colors of autumn...the golden yellows...the vibrant oranges...the rusts...the scarlet reds...olive greens...and browns! These are all my favorite colors!!! Ohhh...and it's not just the colors but it's also the titillating textures!!! I can't go by an autumn leaf without touching it! Ohhh...and what about a fuzzy cattail or the beautiful texture of a pinecone? I love Autumn!!!
I have also been having some fun with photo effects...hope you enjoy!!!

I think you can start decorating gradually--that's what I do---some of the autumny (Sp) greens and reds and be transitional a little .... I do try and get the tree up by Thanksgiving (ours is artificial) so when our kids are home then, they can help decorate. Kind of a tradition. Have a nice Sunday.
You always do the neatest things. I love it all. What fun to see all of your pretty decorations. I can't wait to see your Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hugs, Marty
Hi Chari, too bad Fall is going to be gone soon and you will have to put your pretty accessories away. I just love how you put things together. In my opinion, you can decorate for Christmas anytime you feel like it.....Christine
Gorgeous fall photos!
Oh Chari! That picture of the Autumn Pears in the wrought iron holder took my breath away. How beautiful and I love the angle you took the picture! Perfection!
I always like to start my Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving. Mostly because I have that day off and the rest of the weekend as well to get everything put up. But I must admit, I already have a few little odds and ends up in my home, mostly because the are recent thrift store purchases and I don't see the send of storing them away for just a few weeks.
Thanks for hosting, I love Sunday Favorites!!!
Chari! I loved this post! I loved what you did with pictures! You have got this blogging down girlfriend! Let's see...I think you should put up Christmas whenever you want!! I am hoping to get my study cleaned up and decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving. I'm having Thanksgiving here this year so I don't want to put up Christmas decorations til after. My favorite part is the tree! God Bless! Lauralu :)
Wow!! What a lot of bright autumnal colors you have here! I love it!! I'd hate to put it all away for Christmas too!! Maybe just start in September!! lol!!
Just love all of your pieces, Chari!! :-)

I do not remember this post from before! All the colors are so gorgeously autumn. I think I'm falling for them - - - - oh, I could NOT resist the pun.
I really believe you can start just when ever YOU feel comfortable and right doing it. I have a Niece who has already put up her trees and decorations. She is having her Christmas on the 3 of Dec and wanted to keep them up for awhile, they will be leaving on a cruise the 10th and won't be here for Christmas...So you see it really depends on you.
Traditionally we put our tree up 2 weeks before Christmas because we prefer live trees, but the out side decorations go up Fri after Thanksgiving and don't come down until Jan 2d.
Love your pictures of Fall you posted today.
Morning girl...loved the Fall pics!!! I already have one tree up...I have always had my Christmas up before Thanksgiving..but I am trying (and I use that term lightly!)lol to wait til the day after Thanksgiving to do major decorating outside...I think it is whatever makes you happy and seeing Christmas lights plugged up on our old tree with all my old ornaments makes me happy! Whatever you do...do it with all your might...you only go around once so enjoy the ride! Love ya girl...have a great Sunday!
Your pictures are gorgeous. What program do you use?
I am going to start Thanksgiving decorating today and Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.
Carol
Good Morning Chari,
Thanks for letting me play along at your great party! I haven't joined before because I have only had my blog for going on 4 months so I didn't have many posts that I thought were worth posting again.
This is a great idea for a party....I don't always get to dig back to past posts of blogs so this is a great way to see what people were up to earlier in their blogs.
Thanks too for all of your very nice comments. I really appreciate your kind words.
I'm going to follow and I'll be back to participate again.
Have a great Sunday.
Jane
gorgeous, gorgeous photos!!! pumpkins are so much fun and cozy.
Chari,
Love your Autumn snippets. They are all so pretty. I always wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas. I love both the fall decorations and Christmas as well. Can't wait to see what you do.

Beautiful...as usual! We are supposed to have a change in our weather tonight but no snow. I think it's beautiful when it's falling! We so rarely have it. I think you can decorate when you get the urge to. :-) My daughter is decorating her house for Christmas today ~ she loves it so much!
Chari,
I'm glad you have lots of great pics to share, cause mine is all words!!
We'll see if anyone likes it.
blessings and thanks for hosting

Everything looks so pretty. Thanks for hosting again this week. I need to figure out how to re-post an oldie without the comments from the original post being attached.
To answer your question - Right now I have the two doll houses and the greenhouse on 2 rolling carts between the dining and living room area. Not a good location, but I am limited on space.
