Trays 101...
*

Today for "Three or More Tuesday" I would like to share with you a few of my trays...I'm talking about "serving" trays of course!

I just love trays...not only are they very useful or functional but they are also great for decorating! In fact, a beautifully designed tray can be a work of art all in itself! Do you have a pretty tray that you like? How do you use your trays?

*

................Mmmm.....Hot Cocoa Anyone?

Hehe...okay it may be a bit warm for hot cocoa...but it won't be long till cocoa time...Autumn is just around the corner!
*
This is a black wooden tray that I've had for some time...in fact, I can't even remember where I got it! Eeeeks...a senior moment here! Hehe! Last Christmas I used this black tray to set up my "Hot Cocoa Station". I just love my little snowmen mugs and canister! The canister is perfect for storing hot cocoa. I placed spoons in one of the snowmen cups and cinnamon sticks in another. This tray certainly proved to be functional as well as decorative!
*
*
Okay...since it's still a bit warm out for hot cocoa...maybe a cool glass of wine or grape juice would suit you better!
*
*

Again...the same black serving tray!

Having Guests Stay Over?
*

A Guest Tray
**
How about treating your guests with a "guest tray"! A little ironstone pitcher filled with fresh flowers...a pretty glass for water...and an organza bag full of Andes chocolate mints!
*
This is my Tea Rose bedroom...or guest room! I just love "treating" my guests! This tray is metal...a soft shade of green with a beautiful floral design painted in gold. Hmmm...maybe this tray will be used again...breakfast in bed?
*
*

A Silver Tray and a Vignette!
*

I created this vignette for Marty's Cloche Party! Here I used one of my silver trays...for merely decorative purposes. It serves as a foundation for the vignette! The silver ties in perfectly with the silver pieces that I wanted to use and it lends an elegant feel...just what I hoped to achieve for this vignette!
*
*

*
Again...a silver tray used as the foundation for a vignette!
*
*

A Tray and a Tablescape Centerpiece
*

This is my "Dollar Store" tablescape! Nearly everything you see in this tablescape was found at the Dollar Tree! I used a white wicker tray for the centerpiece. It holds a vase of flowers, a candle, a couple of pears, and extra table napkins.
*
Besides the decorative aspects, using a tray for the centerpiece makes it easy to remove from the table, if necessary, for dining! I love this idea!
*
*

A Creamy White Lattace Tray
*

Ohhh...I just love this ceramic lattace work tray!!! I found it at the thrift store...you should have seen me do the "happy dance"!
*
Hmmm...how will I use it? It would be great to serve bread or dinner rolls. Maybe it will hold apples or oranges for the counter?
*
*

I added fruit (it's faux...sorry! Hehe!) and two sweet little birds to this tray...it sits on the bar in the kitchen!
*
*

Some Trays Are New...Some Trays Are Old!
*

This beautiful Pink Depression glass is actually a platter but I decided to use it as a tray for the Depression glass tumblers! Thinking outside of the box...Hehe!
*
*
Speaking of "thinking outside of the box"...
*

I have trays for silver candleholders....
*
*

I have trays to display things on...
*
*

I even have trays on the wall....
*
I do love my trays!!! They are so versatile...and you gotta love that!!!
*
~~~~~~~~~~
*
Well my friends...I'm so happy that you came by today! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I would love to visit with you!
*
Love ya'll,
Chari
Marvelous post. I love the silver tray and candlesticks. I tend to keep some of mine in my built in china cabinet. Your post makes me think I'll just get some of those out tomorrow and put them to work.
Have a great evening.
Love all your trays Chari and you have such a wonderful way of using them in such unique ways!
I am glad your busyness has been a good busy! Don't want you getting worn out !
I love your idea about putting my rock snake that Mom made at the place where the dastardly deed took place!! That is exactly where it will go! Thanks for the great idea!!
I finally decided that I should probably go to an ENT doctor and so the main doctor who was over me (we don't have a family dr yet) referred me to one and I have an appointment this Friday- was surprised they could get me in so quick! My throat seems to be doing worse as the days go by- I think I might have damaged it when I some how took the breathing tube out by myself. I love to sing and I am a little concerned about it- would you just say a little prayer for me?
I know you are working on something creative and wonderful as always and look forward to see how you were busy!
I have to say Chari that this is one of my all time favorite posts. Your trays are used in the best possible ways. The pink depression glass-fabulous. The guest room tray-thoughtful and pretty. The candlesticks and silver tray-elegant.
As for the fake fruit if you could see the fruit flies in my house right now you wouldn't even flinch at using fakes all the time.
I love them all Chari - I think my fav is the all white - I'm really into all white for some reason - maybe because my house has sooo much color and its been so hot and the white just seems so cool? Maybe I'm just full of it and think the white looks pretty?
Anyway - they're all fab!!
Happy Tuesday to you -
Hi Chari,
I'm back!! I'm just a lovin this post! Girl, you should be a designer for magazine lay-outs! Your design instincts are so good and plus I get to see the tea rose bedroom again. I will always love that bedroom! I just love all the silver pieces you have, and how beautifully they are arranged and then the dollar tree tablescape. Just lovely and who would ever guess that its a dollar tree table! The dollar tree should use it in one of their ads! Well I could go on and on, the red transferware! I just love that wall, how gorgeous! Dan and I had a wonderful time on our little get-away, I hope your week is going well too. One more thing. That gift you sent Gloria for her B-Day is just awesome! How super sweet of you! Hugs, Cindy
