It's Tablescape Thursday &
"Green in the Spring"
Hello my friends and welcome to "Tablescape Thursday" hosted by our very own Susan over at Between Naps On The Porch! Tablescape Thursdays have certainly become a very popular and fun-filled Thursday event! If you haven't ever visited Susan, you're missing out! You just have to see Susan's Thursday tablescape and while you're there, take a peek at all of the participant's beautiful tablescapes!!!
It's been awhile since I've done a tablescape but last month I found a set of dishes on ebay and wanted to do a tablescape with them! For those of you follow my blog, you'll remember the great deal I got on a beautiful set of Kensington Staffordshire Balmoral 1801 dishes. When I seen these pretty English ironstone dishes come up for auction on ebay with a starting bid of just $10...I couldn't believe it! I watched the auction and believe or not...no one ever placed a bid, I got the entire set for just $10!!! What a blessing...I was so excited!!! To read more about this post...just click HERE.
"Green in the Spring" Tablescape...
Spring time is almost here in Colorful Colorado and I wanted to do a pretty Spring themed tablescape! My new olive green and white ironstone dishes would be perfect to lighten things up a bit in our red French Country dining room.
Full view of our French Country dining room and "Green in the Spring" tablescape. As you can see...my dining room is red and olive green. Another reason why I was elated to find a set of dishes that were olive green...they go perfectly in our dining room! *
These beautiful light green dinner napkins belonged to my husband's mother...they go perfectly with the new olive green & white dishes! I found the silver teapot napkin rings at Hobby Lobby on sale...$4.99 for a set of four! The antique beverage glasses were given to me many years ago by a friend. The goblets came from my husband's parents.
The Place Setting...
I just love these white chargers with fleur de lis on them! I purchased them on sale from JC Penneys for $29 for a set of four...not to bad!!! The dinner plate and dessert bowl is Kensingtone Staffordshire ironstone...love the frenchy, olive green pattern! I used a green salad/dessert plate from another set of dishes that I have.
The Flatware...
I just adore this beautiful set of silverware...it has the fleur de lis pattern on it as well! You may be able to see it better in some of the other photos.

A close-up of the salad/dessert plate. As I mentioned earlier, this little plate belongs to another set of dishes that I have. The shade of green goes fairly well with the shade of olive on the ironstone. I used this set for daily dishware for a couple of years...it came from Walmart and has been quite durable!
The Dinner Plate...
A close-up view of the Kensington Staffordshire Balmoral 1801 ironstone. I still just do the "happy dance" every time I see these pretty "treasure finds"!!!
What "Green in the Spring" tablescape would be complete without a little white birdie? hehe!!! I found these sweet little birds at Michaels...half price for $1.50. I sure have seen many of these sweet little creatures all over blogland lately! Don't you just love the little cut-out pattern on the sides?
Just another view...
Oh I do understand how excited you must be to see your daughters and your grandchildren. Have a fabulous time. I love this old Tablescape Thursday post. I must have missed it. It's just lovely!

ReplyDeleteI understand exactly how you must be feeling right now. I am always over the moon when I have not seen my kids and grandkids for a while. The build up of excitement just bubbles right over doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI did not have the pleasure of seeing this post originally, but all I can say is wow oh wow. My love of the colors of red and green with splashes of yellow. It's the proverbial "to die for."
Have a wonderful trip & visit with all the family!

Hi Chari! Waving at you! :)
ReplyDeleteI've missed you girl. What a mess our computer has been for days. Alex wiped it out and it still is acting up. He's still trying... In the meantime I had to come by and say Hello! I hope you are feeling good lately. I'll have to email you soon as well.
I know you are soooo excited!!!
What a thrill for all of you. Have a wonderful time and take lots amd lots of pretty photos.

Thank you for hosting! Your tablescape is beautiful! Have tons of fun with your kids and grandkids; I'm sure they've missed you a lot. Stop by my blog, I'm hosting a giveaway and the platters would look great in one of your tablescapes!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm all Mr. Linkyed up even while I'm on a camping trip!!!
ReplyDeleteI am really ANGRY about the font(s) in my post. They do NOT look like that in the post creation box, but when I publish - - - there they are all different sizes. I've tried resetting my fonts and reposting THREE times - - - nothing helps.
It's downright embarrassing.
Good Morning Chari!
ReplyDeleteI struggled getting my post to work and I can only hope it went through this time. Ugh! I am so happy for you, getting to see your kids and grandkids soon. I am so excited about my son coming later today I can hardly sleep. It's hard when it's been so long,I'm sure you are just chomping at the bit to get going!(lol) I so love this beautiful green and white tablescape! I love the green pattern and the white chargers from Penneys are fab! I have a pitcher real similar to your green one, (yours is prettier though) and I love how the green plays off of your lovely red dining room. This table just says Spring and Lovely! I will miss you while your on vacation, although, we may be taking off about the same time. Happy Sunday Chari, hugs, Cindy
Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy your grandkids! I love all of the Tablescape posts and get inspired to use the many dishes I've collected. It's just a matter of motivation and great ideas!

I know you are really excited too. Have a wonderful time and enjoy. Be sure to get lots of hugs and kisses from the G-children. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI am excited for you!! I hope you have a wonderful time visiting with your family.
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember this post, and those beautiful green & white dishes!! This tablescape is just gorgeous, thank you for sharing it with us again.
Have lots of fun, Nicole
Chari, how did I miss commenting on here earlier?
ReplyDeleteI think your red walls are delicious. Stimulates the appetite not that I need that.
You asked about the Lime Cheesecake and yes the raspberry cocktail concentrarate is in the same amount. Any flavour of sweetened cocktail concentrate type juice will work but probably not a real juice. I think there would be an acidity problem with say a real orange juice.
Hi Chari, I have loved those plates ever since I saw them and I am still loving them now. Beautiful olive green color! And of course your whole dining table setting is lovely!...Christine
ReplyDeleteHey Chari !
ReplyDeleteYou have a great time in Texas with the family ! I bet the weather won't be so rainy as here in Colorado ! Bring back some nice weather, k ?
Hugs ~ Kammy
You have a nice vacation, Chari. I am pretty busy myself cause we are leaving for FL on the 19th and then for a Caribbean cruise on the 20th. so we'll be having fun at the same time,. Yipee!...Christine
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your green transferware dishes again. That was quite the steal off of ebay as I remember. Since then, I have seen some of the same pattern around as I junk hunt around. It's warming up here - does that mean our cool spring is over? Take care, Sally
