"Green in the Spring"
Hello my friends and welcome to "Tablescape Thursday" hosted by our very own Susan over at Between Naps On The Porch! Tablescape Thursdays have certainly become a very popular and fun-filled Thursday event! If you haven't ever visited Susan, you're missing out! You just have to see Susan's Thursday tablescape and while you're there, take a peek at all of the participant's beautiful tablescapes!!!
It's been awhile since I've done a tablescape but last month I found a set of dishes on ebay and wanted to do a tablescape with them! For those of you follow my blog, you'll remember the great deal I got on a beautiful set of Kensington Staffordshire Balmoral 1801 dishes. When I seen these pretty English ironstone dishes come up for auction on ebay with a starting bid of just $10...I couldn't believe it! I watched the auction and believe or not...no one ever placed a bid, I got the entire set for just $10!!! What a blessing...I was so excited!!! To read more about this post...just click HERE.
"Green in the Spring" Tablescape...
Spring time is almost here in Colorful Colorado and I wanted to do a pretty Spring themed tablescape! My new olive green and white ironstone dishes would be perfect to lighten things up a bit in our red French Country dining room.
Full view of our French Country dining room and "Green in the Spring" tablescape. As you can see...my dining room is red and olive green. Another reason why I was elated to find a set of dishes that were olive green...they go perfectly in our dining room!
These beautiful light green dinner napkins belonged to my husband's mother...they go perfectly with the new olive green & white dishes! I found the silver teapot napkin rings at Hobby Lobby on sale...$4.99 for a set of four! The antique beverage glasses were given to me many years ago by a friend. The goblets came from my husband's parents.
I just love these white chargers with fleur de lis on them! I purchased them on sale from JC Penneys for $29 for a set of four...not to bad!!! The dinner plate and dessert bowl is Kensingtone Staffordshire ironstone...love the frenchy, olive green pattern! I used a green salad/dessert plate from another set of dishes that I have.
I just adore this beautiful set of silverware...it has the fleur de lis pattern on it as well! You may be able to see it better in some of the other photos.
What "Green in the Spring" tablescape would be complete without a little white birdie? hehe!!! I found these sweet little birds at Michaels...half price for $1.50. I sure have seen many of these sweet little creatures all over blogland lately! Don't you just love the little cut-out pattern on the sides?
Gorgeous springtime table, Chari!

ReplyDeleteHi Chari! I think you get the award for the best deal ever on those dishes! They are beautiful! And your tablescape looks so inviting. I was doing some peeking around your house from your other posts too and admiring all your lovely treasures. I see you like to surround yourself with pretty things too, which I think makes a house more cozy with "stuff" in it! Thanks for stopping by & leaving a comment about my D.C. trip. It was such a whirlwind trip, we really crowded all that much stuff in about 4 days! And I didn't know there was 19 Smithsonians either and the best part is that they are all free! AND you can take pictures. I was shy at first, never have been able to take pictures of exhibits before in other museums but I knew I had to take pictures for my blogger friends! haa! Thanks again for stopping by. Have a great weekend! :) ~ Laurie
ReplyDeleteyou said it girlfriend, yeeeehaaaaaw!! I got a new floor and a PANTRY! Ya know, I can't possibly complain after this work has taken 2 weeks and is still not done, but... There's not as much room in there as I thought there would be.. OOOPs, did I say that outloud? Heehee! Don't tell my husband or my brother I said that! I have some update pics I'm posting tonight, the painting isn't started, the window isn't found, and some trim still needs to go up, but I put all the food in the pantry tonight. Thanks for cheering me on! Have a great weekend sweetie!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHello my friend Chari!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking a peek at my Pink Spring post!
The buffet table is against one side of our dining room wall.
I have already set my Easter table for a TT post and I will show you soon how it all ties together.
The flower bouquets came like that from Kirklands! HEHE! I am really bad at crafty stuff so I needed them to be all finished.
Happy Spring! ~Melissa :)
I forgot to tell you how pretty this new blog design is you have.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Very elegant. :)
Chari,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! You have one entry into my b-day giveaway! More details to come so stay tuned.
Lori
Mornin' Chari! I was just looking at your tablescape again! My deals don't even compare to the one you got on this set! But I didn't sell my Wedgewood piece, I just found both pieces on ebay for sale so I could see what they might be worth! I bought the covered dish for $5 and one just like it, without the lid, sold on ebay for $41. I've never sold anything on ebay before. But I do have some things I need to sell for my mom so I might try one day! God Bless! Lauralu :)
ReplyDeleteI am still so amazed at your good fortune to find such a beautiful set of dishes on Ebay for just $10. They are just gorgeous and look so fabulous in your dining room. I love the red and green. That has always been one of my favorite color schemes. I had red, green and gold in several homes that I've had and always loved it. Your tablescape is just beautiful. It is so pretty with the pops of white. Just stunning. Thank you so much for the visit to my Bdrm and your gracious comments, I so appreciate it. It is so nice to use something you already have and save storage space at the same time. Thanks again. Hugs, Marty
