Pumpkins in Still Life

*
*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
A couple of days ago, we had a beautiful, sunny autumn day here in Colorful Colorado.  The sun was streaming in through my dining room so beautifully that I grabbed my camera to take a few photos.
*
As many of you know, my little french country dining room is red.  At a certain time of the day when the sun shines into the room...the red walls just become the most beautiful...brilliant...shade of red that I've ever seen!  They certainly do make a stunning backdrop for any photos that I take.
*
Last week while shopping, I found dinner plates in a "golden rod" shade of yellow.  I had been searching for this color of dinnerware for sometime...so I was just ecstatic when I found them.  I also had purchased the cutest little trio of pumpkins that day.  When I got home and unloaded groceries, the trio of pumpkins were placed atop the beautiful golden rod plates...and there they sat.
*
Soooo...and ohhh my...this is becoming a lengthy story so I will wrap it up! Hehe!  But...when the sun began to stream in through my dining room windows...brilliantly lighting up the red walls...the stack of golden rod plates with the cute little trio of pumpkins just begged for their photos to be taken!  wink!
*
And thus..."Pumpkins in Still Life" was!
*
I hope that you enjoy!

This photo view is taken from my kitchen...looking into the dining room.  A tall bar seperates the two rooms.

An old crock jardinaire filled with pretty golden colored mums sits atop a burlap placemat.
My new dinner plates in golden rod yellow are stacked...and topped off with a trio of pumpkins!

I'll just let you enjoy the next few photos without doing a bunch of yapping!  Hehe!
*
I moved the stack of golden rod yellow dinner plates with the cute little
trio of pumpkins onto the dining room table...for a "still life" photo shoot!

  7. Hi Chari! Hasn't our weather been wonderful this week? Guess we are in for a change - the wind has blown today! We just got home from a 10-day road trip to Round Top, Texas and then Kansas City. One of things on my wish list for the trip was a wooden dough bowl, but the cheapest one I found was $105, so I passed. Now, I'm regretting it. Yours is lovely. We sure saw lots of antiques, and I didn't come home empty handed - dishes, of course. Take care, Sally

  9. Chari, great photos as usual. I really like the golden rod color plates. When I was out and about today, I saw several kinds of wild flowers and blooming weeds, including golden rod and I commented how pretty they were. I wanted to pick some to bring home for a beautiful bouquet but I would have sneezed my self to death. Hehe. Your pretty red walls and the golden color look good together. I also like the plate collection , looks very nice.-----Shannon

Beautifully orchestrated, dear friend. The blending of traditional, rustic and textural elements makes for stunning Autumnal decor throughout your dining room! Your new plates are a perfect complement to your "frenchy" themed dining.
