Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
September is here and I do believe that autumn is just around the corner here in colorful Colorado! We have been having some really hot temps...up until this past weekend...that is! A mini "cool front" made it's way into our little corner of Colorado and the highs have dropped down into the 70's! Yeeehawww! I am sooo ready for cooler days!
*
Autumn is my favorite season! I love that I can throw open the windows and doors and let the cool, crisp breeze fill my home. I also love decorating for autumn. I love the warm, rich colors and the textures that autumn provides. Are you ready for the change of seasons?
*
Well dear friends, my autumn decor boxes are waiting and I'm ready to do a little autumn sprucing here at my place. I know it's a bit early but I'm soooo slow! What takes most of you...just a day or two to do...takes me a week or longer. Fibromylagia slows me down terribly...I hate to admit it...but it does. Sooo...while I am busy with my "autumn sprucing"...I thought I would revisit a post from autumn of last year. I hope that you enjoy!

A Revisit from Autumn 2010

"Ahhh...Autumn" an Autumn Vignette
*
Autumn has arrived in my olive green living room.
*
This is one of my most favorite areas in our home...this large window at the end of our living room. I have a dark cherry wood sofa table placed in front of the window and I always try to accessorize it beautifully because it faces the front of our home and everyone sees it.

Autumn Acorns and Pheasant Feathers Cloche
*
*
An embroidered velvet table runner, spun in rich gold and olive green florals, makes a nice foundation for my autumn vignette.
*
The star of this vignette...my newly decorated autumn acorns with pheasant feathers...cloche!
*
*
A Miniature Cloche
*
This cloche is a bit on the small side. It only stands 8 in. tall...but as the old saying goes...great things come in small packages! Hehe!

Miniature Acorns
*
*
* I just love the miniature acorns that fill the cloche. My three grandsons collected them for me a few years ago. Now some of you have already seen this little cloche done up with the minature acorns...so I was searching for something new and creative to add to it.
*
Pheasant Feathers
*
Yes...pheasant feathers! Using the pheasant feathers to embellish my little autumn cloche...came about quite by accident. I was using pheasant feathers in my autumn decor in other areas of my living room when the light bulb came on! Hehe!
*
*My honey brought these fabulous pheasant feathers home to me...aren't they gorgeous? All I did was arrange the feathers around the edge of the cloche...slighty sticking them under the glass so that they would stay put. So simple but I just love, love, LOVE how it turned out!!!
*
Pheasant feathers just "sing" autumn to me!
*
*
I added a pretty gold satin ribbon with a decorative copper key to the top of the cloche...and VOILA!!!

Autumn Florals

A very tall autumn floral arrangement stands front and center in this vignette. I found the beautiful antique gold and olive green urn/vase awhile back at Hobby Lobby...on sale of course! Hehe! It stands about 12" in height and has a beautiful "fleur de lis" design on it. I love it!!!

OMG!, my dear friend, this is gorgeous, I love this vignette, you have to be the best vignette maker, I can never imagine something like this! I love the lady's bust, the bird, the little cloche, everything's so artisticly put together! I can't wait to see what you're going to do this year, you're always an inspiration for me, vignettes are not my strongest point, but I'm learning from you. I'm so glad you love autumn too, I love the weather, we have weather like this around here now, that's why I'm in the mood and I thank you sooo very much for your ever wonderful visit and for the most generous comments you left me, you're wonderful dear Chari and I love you too, my sweet lady friend of blog land...have the best week! Love and hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Oh Chari, your vignettes are always stunning. I love this so much. Now for some reason I don't remember the feathers and acorns under the cloche. You know I would love that. Such a great idea. All of your florals are always so pretty and I love your wonderful busts that you display so beautifully. Tons of inspiration. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Chari,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your recent comments on my blog. I really appreciate you for that! I'm so looking forward to cooler temps, but it's gonna be a while for us in Florida. Glad you had a little taste of it!
Thank you as always presenting us with stunning pictures of your creations.
Hugs,
LaDonna
Everything is so beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration about decorating for fall. I've been in a slump, need to get going! It's still hot here in FL, we have about four more weeks until we get a break in the weather.
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are always just fabulous! Love it all!
Katherine
So beautiful...
ReplyDeletebut I am NOT READY for Autumn! I have to finish my gardens! Ahhhhhh!
Such a pretty vignette Chari! I love your bust, she is so pretty and the keys! What a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty vignette, Chari! Seeing everyone bring out their Fall decor really makes me want to get mine out and decorate, too. Except, I can't because everythings packed up! I have to wait until we move! I'm trying to look at the bright side of that {i.e. the cloches and other glass items will get a good wash, I'll have a new place to look at my thngs and maybe see them with new eyes}.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Chari! You truly have a gift for creating beautiful vignettes! I envy that you live in Colorado ... I can only imagine the wonderful weather you must be enjoying right now. I look forward to seeing your Fall masterpieces this year, too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeousness Chari! I love it when you change Seasons:) Gives me some great ideas to change things up around my house! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!
ReplyDeleteFalls looks so lovely in your home, Chari! I love ever detail down to the keys with the silk ribbon.
SoOOOOoo pretty.

Hello there,
ReplyDeletebeautifull autumn pictures.
Bey, Sylvia
Hi Chari! Everything looks gorgeous - as always. You really do know how to put together lovely areas! You could do this professionally - really!
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate your visits!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I LOVE your vignette! Very mysterious looking, and those pheasant feathers are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing this, Chari! I adore Fall and the decor and the colors!!!! Those are my colors! I am itching to get it all out too. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Fall table, Chari! We are having early Fall temps and I am doing the happy dance.:-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous with so many beautiful details done with artisty and professionalism. You are the Goddess of Gorgeous Vignettes, my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet to ask a question. I put a container inside my champagne bucket.
Hope to see you at Potpourri Friday again!
Your fall vignette looks so stunning! I love all the details you put into it. I must say the satin ribbon with the vintage keys are my favorite! Fondly, Susie
ReplyDeleteChari, your vignette looks like a designer did it. The bust is wonderful but I also like the large urn. Your use of unusual items makes this a special treat for the eyes. Shannon
ReplyDeleteChari,
ReplyDeleteSuch artist flair, my dear friend! I adore what you do to the ribbon used in your vignettes! These hues of Autumn are stunning! Slow and steady wins the race...no need to rush! I'll drop in soon to see what loveliness you've designed this Autumn!
Fondly,
Pat
Hi Chari,
ReplyDeleteOh dear friend you always make things just so outstandingly beautiful!
I remember how blown away I was by your Autumn decor from last year.
I am in the slow category too now.
With Addison here so much I am mostly picking up baby toys and wiping baby food off of the kitchen floor.
But I don't mind because she is so much fun!
How was your labor day weekend?
Have any big events coming up in the future?
Hi to Russ too,
Big Hugs,
Cindy
Very Pretty! You have a great eye for style. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIf this years Autumn decor is anything like last years, it will be lovely. One reason it may take you longer is because you are very detail oriented. But it does pay off in the end with your wonderful vignettes.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Char,
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! Such beautiful rich color. Love the velvet runner!! There is just something about velvet, isn't there????
I am looking forward to autumn's cool temps. Right now we are being drenched with rain. 4 inches in as many days and possibly 4 more to come...
Hugs,
Debbie
So pretty! Your blog is such an inspiration. There's always something great to see. Have a great night!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great floral arrangement the vase is just so nice you have the arrangement in...I my just to visit Hobby Lobby. Trish
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cheri!
ReplyDeleteI THINK I'm ready for Autumn.... well, actually, I think my house is.. It's screaming "time for fall cleaning".... :-) Well, it's either early Spring cleaning for next year.....or REALLLLLLY late spring cleaning from THIS year.
Loved your tabletops!
Have a great week sweet chickie!
