Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
Whew...it seems like I have been missing from Blogland forever! It has actually only been about three weeks but it seems like everything in the land of blog moves at "lightening speed". Hehe! I'm sure that I have missed out on all kinds of pretties! As many of you know...my daughter Jenni and five grandchildren were here visiting from Texas. We had a wonderful visit and I just cherished each and every minute that they were here! I really did miss all of you dear, sweet friends...thank you for being so patient with me! Hopefully I will be able to catch up with you soon!*

A New Spring Vignette in the Living Room...
*
Today I thought I would share with you a new spring vignette that I created for the table that sits in front of my large living room window. This vignette can be seen from the front of our home so I always try to create something pretty and of interest. I hope that you enjoy!*

My 2011 Springtime Mantel...
My 2011 Springtime Mantel...
I thought I would share a photo of my spring mantel that is also located in the living room. Since the mantel itself is built of a dark cherry wood...I wanted to lighten and brighten it up for the spring season. I decided to use lots of white with a sprinkle of silver and greenery.
As you can see...I used several pieces of silver in this springtime mantel vignette. I recently found the silver champagne bucket at an antique flea market...I arranged a climbing ivy in the bucket for a little added greenery. I also used several of my silver candleholders with white tapers. More white was brought into this vignette through a tall statue of a french girl and a decorative french finial. I was very pleased with how this vignette turned out.

I carried this same color theme over to the new spring vignette that I created for the living room table that sits in front of the large window.
My living room is done in rich reds, golds, and olive green. This color theme presents a challenge when trying to lighten things up for the spring and summer seasons. But...I love a good decorating challenge! Hehe!
This large living room window faces the northwest and gets lots of nice afternoon sun! This is one of my favorite places in my entire home. I love the size of this window and the beautiful arched glass at the top! I usually keep this cherry sofa table right in front of this window...it's perfect for seasonal vignettes...and as I mentioned before...it can be seen from the front of our home.

Springtime Whites with a Little Silver Elegance...
I continued the same color theme that I used on the mantel over to this table vignette. A white ironstone tureen sits upon a large white charger plate and is filled with vining ivy. I love to use greenery in my vignettes...especially during the warmer seasons.
*
A beautiful olive green and gold tapestry runner makes the perfect foundation for this spring vignette!
Ornate silver candleholders with chunky white tapers flank either side of the ironstone tureen.
*
*
The sunlight always looks soooo pretty shining through this window!
On the left side of the vignette...
A bust of a french girl gives this vignette an elegant and frenchy feel.
I just adore this french girl bust!!! A tall sofa table lamp sits to the side of the bust. Just a little more silver elegance! During the evening hours, the light from this lamp shines ever so sweetly upon the french girl and she looks sooo beautiful!
On the right side of the vignette...
A large, creamy white, artichoke finial sits atop a couple of old books! The decorative finial balances out this vignette nicely.
*
...and Voila! A new spring vignette for my living room!*

It's lovely and looks so nice in front of your large window. The shot of the table (from a distance) in front of the window is just spectacular. I'm sure you're enjoying playing a bit and getting the house back in order after all your houseguests!
ReplyDeleteThe French girl bust is truly stunning! And the white really does look clean and fresh for Spring! Your greenery is just the right combination with the white containers and candles! Beautiful...as always! You are such an elegant lady! ♥

As always, your vignettes are just beautiful. I love that French girl statute. I've always loved your French girl bust. Your touches of silver and white do combine for a bright Springy look. I know you enjoyed having your family there, but I'm sure glad to see you back in Blogville. Hugs, laurie
ReplyDeleteEverything looks just perfect, as always, Chari. Just beautiful. You are, indeed, the Queen of Vignettes. You have such beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening.

I am adoring your Spring vignettes - the French girl bust is awesome! I showed my daughter and husband your beautiful mantel - she said it looked like chocolate and reminded her of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where the prince asked him to create a castle out of chocolate...I forgot the connection but remembered the scene - they laughed at my forgetfulness - anyhow - I love your vignettes!
ReplyDeleteKathy :)
There you are! So glad you had such a wonderful time with your family and those grands!
ReplyDeleteNow you're at it again making beautiful vignettes! Love your spring mantle and the table in the window is just gorgeous! I've said it before, but you really have a wonderful decorating sense and always put together beautiful scenes.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Oh Chari my friend,
ReplyDeleteIt's looking sooo pretty at your house!
I love the whites next to the dark wood! And those candlesticks and the lady bust, ooh-lala, so perfect there~
I can picture sitting there right now looking at all the pretties inside your home! Dang! Wish I could come every summer!
I am so excited for you and Gloria and your upcoming get together, oh you two will be having a blast!
And thanks so much for your sweet note, you always make me smile!
I went shopping today for material to use as tablecloths for the wedding this weekend. I hope it works ok. It's a country/farm wedding so it's going to be pretty casual.
And Adi is sleeping on the couch behind me. Katie is working and she will probably stay overnight. I love having her but I think me knees are shot from bending and stooping so much. I am on the floor with her a lot and I can really feel it.
Well enough on me. I am so happy that you had a nice visit with your daughter and grandkids! I hope you get to see them again soon.
I know I am sure missing my son in AZ. and can't wait for July!
Have a nice weekend and hi there to Russ too!
Love Ya,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteOh Chari, I just love to see all of your beautiful vignettes. You do have such a creative way of arranging things so they look just right. The fireplace is fabulous and your table is stunning. I hope you are having a super week. I have a ton of sewing to do and just can't seem to get going. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteChari, both the mantel and the table vignette make an elegant statement. I love the mix of silver and white with the green ivy accents.

So glad you dropped by and visited today!!! What a beautiful living room. Such pretty vignettes and I absolutely love the fireplace - the wood is such a beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
When it comes to creating vignettes, you are a champion, Chari. I can just imagine how much fun you had with your daughter and grandkids. The only downside to that is getting depressed after they leave and the house is so quiet all of a sudden. At least that's how how I feel when I get visits from kids and grandkids. Your home is always looking beautiful.....Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Chari. I love the bust and the finial.. love it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty Chari (as always) I think you've done a great job of lightening the decor for spring. I'm lovin' that frenchy girl bust! (you knew I would) It's a perfect place to display her in your front window.
ReplyDeleteHow are you two doing? I hear you about it being too quiet. It's been a little too quiet at my house too. The sibs have been moving to other states so not much commotion anymore. I'm really not sure if I love it or hate it?Lol! I guess I'll just get used to it and see. But otherwise all is fine at my place. I'm having fun shopping for the perfect etsy pieces. *winks* Vanna
your vignettes are great as always i love the third photo as well!
ReplyDeleteHappy mother's day to you Chari
