Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Wow...can you believe that we are now in the month of November? We have settled nicely into Autumn at our place...enjoying the cooler days. We have even toasted our toes by the fireside on a few occasions. I really do enjoy this time of the year!
*
Today, I set a little "autumn table for one" by the fireplace in our living room. I wanted to use a set of dishes that just seem perfect for the autumn season. I hope you enjoy!
*
A warm and cozy table set by the fireside on a brisk autumn day.
*
The table...facing the large window in the living room...has a beautiful view of a lovely autumn day.
*
A beautiful set of autumn dishes..."Brookshire" by Johnson Bros. China...the star attraction of this autumn table for one.
*
A "Brookshire Autumn" Table Centerpiece...
*
* I have had this pretty, ornate metal clock for some time now. It usually sits on the shelf of our entertainment center in the living room. I thought it would be perfect for an autumn centerpiece. I love the bronze finish...so autumn like. I added a few autumn pears to the inside of the clock for a little extra interest and color. A sage green colored tassel hangs from the clock handle...down the side of the clock...love that!
* A few autumn floral picks decorate the base of the clock...and a couple extra autumn pears. Three brass candleholders with chunky tapers have been added into the mix.
* A small cloche on a pedestal plate is filled with miniature acorns and decorated with an array of beautiful pheasant feathers. The pheasant feathers continue the theme of the "Brookshire" china. I love the deep, rich colors of the feathers...sooo perfect for autumn!
*
I tied three decorative skeleton keys with a pretty gold satin ribbon and laid them on the table...just a little more "pretty".
*
*
*
* The Place Setting...
*
"Brookshire" manufactured by Johnson Bros. China.
*
I just love this pretty set of dishes! Different types of birds and feathers decorate the rims of the plates...pretty pheasants decorate the cups! A dark hunter green band frames the scalloped edges of the cream colored dishware.
*
I just have to tell you about the bargain that I received on this beautiful set. Last December Dillards was having their after Christmas (online) sale. They were originally $99 for a place setting for four....they were marked down to just...$12! I couldn't hardly believe my good fortune. I purchased two sets for a total of $24...making a place setting for eight!
*
11" dinner plate
salad/dessert plate
bread & butter plate
lg. rimmed cereal bowl
berry bowl
teacup
saucer
*
I only paid $24 for this entire set!!! I just couldn't believe it...and they were offering free shipping at the time...to boot! Yeeehawwww!
*
* I used a toffee colored tablecloth and a cream colored dinner napkin.
*
*
* Pheasants, Canadian geese, chickens, several different spieces of ducks, and feathers...decorate the rims! I just love it!!!
* The pheasant is my favorite!
* And Voila...a Brookshire Autumn!
*
*
I am joining these fabulous parties today...
* Tablescape Thursday...hosted by Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch.
*
Thank you, Marty and Susan...for hosting these fabulous parties for us to enjoy!
*
*
Warmest Autumn Wishes!

This is gorgeous! I am so inspired by your Brookshire Autumn table for one! The colours are perfect for November, a nice change from the orange/black seen over the last few weeks. You've created so many little details that add to the cozy feeling. Love the pheasant feathers, the acorns under glass and the clock filled with pears is a terrific centerpiece! I might have to see what I can come up with that might hopefully compare!
ReplyDeleteDD

ReplyDeleteConferences are over for fall, had a 3 day weekend and was able to work in and outside. Lots still to do, but we will have five days off later this month. Love my job, it just makes it difficult to get every thing done--my problem is that I such a good procrastinator!! ♥♫
