Something New in the Tea Rose Bedroom...Part I

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous Monday!
*
Many of you who follow my blog have seen my step-daughter's bedroom/guest room, the "Tea Rose" bedroom. I must admit that rarely does anything change in this room...simply because I just adore it the way it is! However, I would love to share with you a little something new!
*
The Tea Rose Bedroom...

*
I took this photo of the Tea Rose bedroom some time back. I use it often because I love how the rays of the early morning sun so sweetly shine in upon the bed and linens! I often think...what a gift it is to be awakened with a "kiss" by the sun just as it rises in the early hours of the day!!!
*
*
If I may...I'd love to show you around the Tea Rose bedroom.
*
This is a fairly small room but certainly adequate for my step-daughter when she is with us...and hopefully for our guests as well! Besides the bed, there is a writing desk...so one can catch up on a little correspondence if desired. There is also a rocking chair and small footstool...just perfect for relaxing or reading.
*
A "Sun Kissed" Morning...
*
I purchased this bedding from JC Penneys a few years back. I have been sooo very pleased with my selection! I love the linen fabric of the comforter and ohhhh...those beautiful tea roses!!! I also just adore the soft creamy white, buttery yellows, soft pinks, and sagey green colors! The mix of fabric patterns...the small and large florals and the stripes lend to the cottagey feel! This bedding was called "Tea Rose"...thus the name for this bedroom.
*
A Little Something New...
*
Do you see it? Do you see the new addition to the Tea Rose bedroom?
*
A Cottage Tea Rose Quilt!
*
It's folded ever so sweetly at the end of the bed!
*
*
When I seen this beautiful quilt online at JC Penneys it was love at first sight!
*
As you can see, the colors of the quilt coordinate beautifully with the Tea Rose bed linens! There again, I love mixing different fabric patterns and this quilt has mastered this quality perfectly with all the different fabrics used! Ohhh...and each fabric strip of the quilt is joined with a tiny little ruffle! I love...love...LOVE IT! Cottagey perfection to a "T"!!!
*
*
Ohhh...just look at all of those little ruffles and beautiful pink roses!!!
*
I flipped one side of the quilt over so that you could see the back. It is made with the prettiest fabric! I love all the soft pink roses on the creamy white background! Either side of the quilt would be beautiful with the Tea Rose bed linens!!! I can switch it out when I want a different look...love that!
*
*
And here it is...folded at the end of the bed and ready to pull up and snuggle under for a little nap! Hehe! I'm telling ya...the fabric patterns and colors of the quilt couldn't have been more perfect for the Tea Rose bedroom!!! Don't you just love when that happens?
*
And...you won't believe what I paid for this beautiful quilt...it was on clearance for just $29!!!
*
Ohhh yeah...I was doing my "happy dance"! Hehe!
*
*
I found this old rocking chair at a yard sale for just $5. The pretty beige and olive green toile fabric was on sale. If I remember correctly, I only have a little over $10 into redoing this pretty rocking chair! The velvet throw was on sale at Hobby Lobby...$17! I love a good bargain!!!
*
*
*
*
*
I also refinished the writing desk. I believe it was maple...but the wood finish had seen its better days. I used a creamy white latex paint and a few french/cottagey floral swags were added to the drawer fronts...along with glass knobs.
*
*
I found the desk chair at the antique flea market...it's a perfect fit for the little desk! I love the old cottagey carvings in the wood at the top of the chair back and the old faded olive green toile fabric on the seat! This chair is just "chippy and distressed" perfection!!! Isn't it funny how the smallest things can just bring joy into your heart! Hehe!
*
*
My "artsy" photo!
*
This pretty candelabra with all of its different shaped crystals hangs above the desk!
*
*
Well my friends, I'm sooo happy that you came by and took a peek at the "little something new/quilt" in my Tea Rose bedroom. It was probably much ado about nothing...but like I said earlier...it's funny how such little things can just warm one's heart! Thank you for letting me share it with you today!
*
A Tea Rose Bedroom...

*
Ahhhh...it really IS in all of the little details!!!
*
I also have a new little vignette in the Tea Rose bedroom that I'm hoping to share with you for Marty's Table Top Tuesday...so please do come back!
*
*
I'm joining in with these fabulous parties today...
*

Oh, and you asked about my fair projects. Well they are pretty simple, a few flower arrangements, a decoupage box and something else I can't remember now. I think I have brain fog.
Well my dear, I hope you had a great weekend. I wish I could just zoom over there whenever and we could talk. I can't wait until you share the neat things you made for your patio. I posted a picnic table Dan re-did, come by when you can.
