Cherubs, Pearls, and Apothecary Jars

*

*
Hello my friends...I'm so happy to see you today!
*
Today I am joining in with Metamorphosis Monday, Table Top Tuesday, and Tuesday Trivia. You will find the credits for these fun filled events at the end of the post.
*
I wanted to share with you a mini-metamorphosis that has taken place in my living room. It's a small change but a change nevertheless!
*
A Vignette of Pearls...

*
This is the "before" photo!
*
This small table is in my living room. A very simple vignette...but the pearls "class" it up a bit! Hehe! I found these beautiful pearl and glass mosaic candleholders at Hobby Lobby on sale several months ago. I have really enjoyed them...using them in several different vignettes at my place! They sit simply upon three decorating books...and are joined by a little white bird!
*
I loved how these photos came out...I caught the light shining in upon the pearl candleholders at just the right time! Sooo pretty!
*
Now for the mini-metamorphosis....

*
A full view of the "new and improved" table top vignette.
*
This is the formal sitting area of my living room! It also has recently undergone a huge metamorphosis...I added a faux fireplace! This is a nice area to sit and visit in when guests are here.
*
Now I told you that this was a mini-metamorphosis! Hehe! What changed you ask? Well...I added my tall apothercary jar into the mix of pearl candleholders!
*
Cherub in an Apothecary Jar...

*
As you can see, the pearl candleholders, books, and little white bird are still here, however I added my 21in. tall apothecary jar to the vignette!
*
I placed a creamy white, cast iron cherub into the apothecary jar atop an ecru lace doily! And...I added a pretty red and olive green tassel to the top of the jar!
*

*
An "artsy" photo!
*

*
Did you know???
*
In the realm of decorating, we often use the term "vignette" to describe a special placing of various items to create a beautiful decoration on a table, bookshelves, etc.
*
However, according to Dictionary.com, a "vignette" has several other meanings;
*
1. A decorative design or small illustration used on the title page of a book or at the beginning or end of a chapter.
*
2. An engraving, drawing, photograph, or the like that is shaded off gradually at the edges so as to leave no definite line at the border.
*
3. A decorative design representing branches, leaves, grapes, or the like, as in a manuscript.
*
4. Any small, pleasing picture or view.
*
5. A small, graceful literary sketch.
*
WOW!!! I didn't realize that the word "vignette" had so many different meanings. I thought it would be fun to share them with you!
*

*
Ahhh...just look at this sweet cherub! He has a violin and is playing a very sweet song!!! Hmmm...maybe a love song. What do you think? Hehe!
*

*
Well my friends...there you have it! A mini-metamorphosis of a living room vignette! I hope you enjoyed!!!

  1. Chari, I love your mini metamorphosis. It is stunning. The candlestems are just stunning and I love that apothecary jar. The cherub inside and then the tassel just adds so much to the table vignette. I had to giggle, I have that same decor book that you can see on the top of your stack. I've just about worn the pages off of it. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

I like the tassel on your apthocary jar so much I'm going to hunt one down to put around the top of mine, too. I'm tired of the keys I've had on there since I started blogging. LOL

  26. Very, very pretty, Chari. You have a nack for putting together pretty vignettes. It really doesn't fit into the meaning of vignette does it? Your apothecary jar is really beautiful. I have never purchased one of those because I wasn't sure that I would have a place to put it. But that looks great. Maybe I will get one. Hugs, Cindy S.

  31. I've always been fascinated by pearls, and the process the oyster goes through to make one. But they need to change the name. I can't see the word "Pearl" without thinking of Minnie Pearl, with her tag hanging down the side of her hat.

I barely learned the word Vignette in the last year, since Diann started blogging, now I get to learn lots of new definitions for it.

Thanks for linking up this week.

I always enjoy coming opver and seeing what new elegant and luxurious display you have to show.

  32. Ah my dearest Cheri,

I had been thinking of you all day, 'off and on', intermittenly my dear;, meaning to pay another lovely visit to your beautiful blog!..,( I will also 'forewarn' you my dear, this post is a bit of a 'volume' as pertains to your precious and heartfelt, recent comment)..,

First things first dear Cheri!~ Yes, I will absolutely consider it my priviledge to pray for your entire fanmily, as well as your two precious grandsons!

How well I remember their dear faces, when you as a proud grandma;(as well you should be my dear lady); shared the various lovely photos of your family members!..,

I remember well, looking with great interest, and in detail at all that you shared with the pictures, names and descriptions of your loved ones Cheri!..,

(I also remember thinking when you said that you 'hoped you weren't boring us').., "My, how could I possibly be bored with the priviledge of a dear blog friend sharing her heart and 'loves' with regard to family, with us, your loyal friends, here in 'blogland'"!?

My heart goes out to you Cheri and your family, so very deeply that mere words cannot adequately express; someday when the time is right,I'll share with you why.

..,(No worries though, as what I'll share with you Cheri, powerfully speaks of Gods' healing hand, might, keeping power, strength, deliverance, love and comfort in the midst of life's storms and challenges!!..,Sufficed to say, in many, many ways I feel your pain and do understand dear friend!

Thank you so much for your kind words and concern, as well as your prayers! It means so much!.., I just need to rest and take care of myself so that the extreme weakness, fatigue and aneamia does not return!~ Your continued prayers are much appreciated.

Last but not least, what a tonic to the soul your artistic gifts are Cheri, they gladden the heart in ways perhaps you do not fully realize my friend!

My, oooh my!~ I just so enjoy your 'vignettes'!.., Who knew the word could have so many rich, varied and nuanced meanings!?.., He he..,

..,My, and the lighting , the dear cherub in the apothocary jar, the whole room really is just charming!~Also the tassel hung so coquettishly over the lid of the jar and those oh so fabulous 'pearl' set of three candle holders; a 'vignette' masterpiece my dear! Why even your signature decor books!..,

(Although, 'Wednesday Tea for And Thee',at Silken Purse blog is now posted, I will not be using Mr. Linky for awhile 'till I catch up; do pop over later if you feel like enjoying a little peek at my 'cream tea' pics for this week my dear).., No worries however, as I do so understand that your 'plate is more than full' right now Cheri!

Please do feel most welcome to update me with prayer requests as needs be!

My prayers are with your dearest 8 year old Seth and your precious 17 year old, rest assured; as mentioned! I do also uplift you in prayer for your energy and health!

Much love, hugs and prayers dearest Cheri.

  35. CHari,
I just love the simplicity of the cherub in the apothecary jar and the touch of lace!

I have been enjoying all of your posts of late. You just get better and better with your camera and design.

I too have a red dining room that I enjoy. But it is giving me quite the challenge when taking photos. Nothing looks true to colour and too dark. Any suggestions?

Well my dear I hope you are enjoying some spring weather and good health.

    Blessings, Pam

  38. Chari, I love the simple addition of the cherub to your apothecary jar. It is so pretty and it adds so much to the table vignette. The doily as a filler base was ingenious. Hope you have a joyous Easter holiday. Sorry I'm so late visiting... things are finally getting better health-wise w/Mr. S so I should be getting around more often. Hugs, Sue
