An Autumn Apothecary
*
I have been trying to get a little Autumn decorating done at my place. Ohhh my, I've had a mess! Hehe! This week I dug out all of my autumn decorations...you should see my dining room! Hmmm...second thought, you really shouldn't! Hehe!

I have been trying to get a little Autumn decorating done at my place. Ohhh my, I've had a mess! Hehe! This week I dug out all of my autumn decorations...you should see my dining room! Hmmm...second thought, you really shouldn't! Hehe!
*
One of my first projects was to decorate my wire apothecary jar. Whew...I barely got it done in time for the cloche party!
*
Without further ado...
*
An Autumn Apothecary
This is in my kitchen...a little Autumn finery for the cook! That's me! Hehe!
*
I just love my old chippy white enamel topped table....it's situated in the corner of my kitchen! I have an old copper boiler pot with some greenery on the table...a lamp...and ohhh, just look at the pretty little rooster tassel hanging on my lamp! This was a gift from Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch...from her one year blog anniversary giveaway! Thank you, Susan...I love, love, LOVE my little rooster!!!
*
I thought this would be the perfect place for a little Autumn bling! I used a black wooden serving tray...and added my wire apothecary jar (21 in. tall)...a few of my new autumn dinner napkins and a couple of amber colored stemware...ohhh, and do you see the big wooden acorns?
*
*
Hmmm...I was really "scratching my head" on this one....how to give this wire apothecary jar an autumn look. I decided to try a few of my ceramic pumpkins! I added a little moss to the bottom of the apothecary jar and started adding the ceramic pumpkins...then I used a little berry garland and autumn leaves for a filler! I topped it off with a pretty ribbon!
*
I found the large wooden acorns at Hobby Lobby last year. I have four...each one is a different shape and color!
*
A couple of close-up photos...I like to call them my "artsy" photos! Hehe!
*
I just love Autumn...and I love all the deep, rich colors of Autumn!!! I think the colors of the ceramic pumpkins look so pretty against the antique bronze of the wire apothecary jar!
*
Ahhh...just look at the pretty reds, oranges, golds, and olive greens...so warm and rich!!!
*
*
Autumn Under Glass
My glass cloche on a pedestal.
*
This was a "no brainer" after decorating the wire apothecary jar...I just followed suit using another ceremic pumpkin...a little moss for the pumpkin to sit on...and a pretty ribbon!!!
*
*
I added the glass cloche to the serving tray...right next to big brother the apothecary jar! Hehe!
*
*
*
Another "artsy" photo...

A start to the 2009 Autumn season decor at Happy To Design!

I am lovin' all the fall decorations at your house. The metal container is great and I love the copper tub!!
ReplyDeleteAnswers: The pewter rub on came from Big Lots in the craft section. And the peacock feathers around the base of the cloche is just feathers attached to 1 yd. ribbon - got those for .99 at Tuesday Morning. Lotta look for cheap!!

Those giant sized acorns are adorable too and such a perfect touch for your Fall display. I couldn't help but think what the squirrels in my backyard would think about them!!
Your lamp is gorgeous too, and that adorable rooster tassel was just the perfect crowning touch for it!!

I love it! Your Fall theme is so cool... I feel so behind right now, but no worries, I'll get there. I love all of your pumpkins and Fall decor, just lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Chari! I really like the whole display and how it all works together so well. Those big acorns are really cool! Lovely Autumn happening here :0)
ReplyDeleteChari, I love that wire topiary cloche! Is it new? I don't remember it. You have it decorated so pretty. The berries sticking out of it just make it look like they kind of grew inside the cloche. I DO remember those wonderful acorns. I've looked at H.L. for those since I saw yours last year. I adore those acorns. The glass cloche looks so pretty too, and the pretty Fall colored ribbon ties the two of them together. (I know just what you mean about making a mess when you get out the Fall decor-did you notice my cloche photos were all close up? That was so you couldn't see the mess that was all around them!) laurie
ReplyDeleteAutumn is definitely at your house in your gorgeous cloches. What fun I had looking at all the eye candy. Have a wonderful weekend Chari~ ~ Lynn

Chari, that wire cloche is just about my favorite. What is it about wire that makes it so pretty, so Frenchy!!And yes, when you open my apothecary jar, you can hear the music. I'm just sitting here trying to be clever about naming a song that you would hear....something to do with shredded, or torn.....hmmmmm, I'll think of it eventually! Linda @Nina's Nest
ReplyDeleteOh Chari! Thank you so much for visiting and leaving such wonderful and encouraging comments! You are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteYOUR home is beautiful! And your cloche displays are stunning! You really know how to make a home warm and inviting!

ReplyDeleteHey girl
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by and leaving me that sweet note, and info on photobucket.
I've never tried it. Do you hook up to it on computer, buy a disc??
OK, now, Orange pumpkins.
Yes, I made them too.
I found this material last year, and you know, in my own berserk way, made tons of pumpkins, out of everything!!
Anyway. loved this material. Can you tell it has sequins on it, and it's shiny?
Now i have found brown in the same fabric. Not sure if I'll get any more pumpkins done this year. You know how i always like doing something new.
I'm getting ready to paint some cute Autumn signs now.
hugs and blessings,
Barbara jean
