"Autumn...Sweet Autumn"
*
Ahhh....Sweet Autumn!!! I guess by now that you've pretty well figured out that I love Autumn!!! It's my favorite season of the year! I just love everything about Autumn...the cooler days...the warm, vibrant colors...the titillating textures...Ahhhh!!!
*
I'm so excited about getting to do my very first tablescape of the Autumn season! I few weeks ago...I found the prettiest Autumn dishes at TJ Maxx! It was love at first sight! Hehe!
*
Without further ado...my Autumn tablescape called "Autumn...Sweet Autumn"

My French Country Dining Room
*
This is our French Country dining room! It's dressed in it's Fall finery and ready to greet the season! For more of my dining room Autumn decorating...just click HERE.
*
As you can see...my little French Country dining room is decorated in shades of dark reds, olive greens, and golds! This color scheme is very conducive for Autumn decor...I love it!!!

The Table Centerpiece
*
An Autumn Apothecary Jar...
*
This is a wire apothecary jar that I purchased from JC Penneys last summer. It's a nice sized piece measuring about 21 in. tall. I gave it a new Autumn look for Marty's September Cloche Party! I filled the apothecary jar with ceramic pumpkins and gourds that I purchased from the Dollar Tree...and a few other autumn pretties! To see how I put this together...you can go HERE.
*
I added a couple of Autumn floral picks around the base of the apothecary jar...I just love the look of autumn leaves, berries, and acorns!
*
Roseville Pottery Candleholders...
*
I then added two Roseville pottery candleholders with beige tapers to each side of the apothecary jar. These beautiful Roseville pottery candleholders are a recent treasure find. They were in an old box in my in-laws storage...covered in dirt! I couldn't even tell what color they were when honey brought them home...hehe! They are Roseville's "Clematis" pattern in autumn brown...ca 1944. You can imagine my surprise while I was giving them a good washing! Hehe!
*
*
*
An "artsy" photo! This was done using Photobucket's photo effects. I just love this look!!!
*
*
*
The Table Linens
*
*
*
I liken the table linens to the beautiful backdrop of a scene in a play. They set the stage...the production of all that is to come! In this case, the table linens set the stage for the beautiful dishware and the food that will be served!!!
*
Autumn Layering For Warmth...
*
Since this is an Autumn tablescape, I chose to use a layered effect...something that we often do with our autumn decor...layering for warmth! First layer: I used an antique gold colored tablecloth that I made several years ago. I love the color and the beautiful embroidered tone-on-tone stitching of this fabric! Second layer: an olive green, leaf shaped placemat. Third layer: a woven charger plate! I found the pretty autumn colored plaid dinner napkins recently at TJ Maxx...they are the exact same colors of the new dinnerware! The coppery colored autumn leaf napkin rings were found at Walmart.
*
*
*
*
The Place Setting
*
And here are my new Autumn dishes! Ohhh...how I love them!!! They have all of my favorite things...autumn reds, greens, oranges, and yellows...and...BIRDS!!! It just doesn't get any better!!!
*
The Salad/Dessert Plate...
*
Love the coordinating salad/dessert plate with the sweet birds!
I only paid $2.99 ea. for these!
*
*
*
Do you know what kind of birds these might be? I thought they might be chickadees?
*
*
*
I don't see a name of the pattern but they are manufactured by Royal Stafford of Burslem, England.
*
*
*
The Dinner Plate...
*
Ohhh...so beautiful and sooo perfect for an Autumn table! If you look closely to the pattern of the dinner plate...you can see a type of weaving effect! I thought the woven charger plates would be the perfect backdrop to showcase this pretty dinnerware!
*
These are large plates measuring 11" in diameter. They were only $3.99 ea.!
*
*
*
*
*
The Cup and Plate
*
*
Although this cup and plate are a different pattern, they were showcased with the Royal Stafford dinnerware...they coordinate beautifully with them...don't you think? I just love this little cup and salad/dessert plate...the basket weave border, fruit, and birds are embossed or raised above the dish!
*
The cups and plates were only $1.99 ea. I found four cups...and now for the bad news...I could only find two of the plates! I've been back to TJ Maxx a couple of times...but no luck! I would at least like to have a couple more plates
*
*
*
*
*
Amber colored stemware that I've had for awhile. I think I found them at Walmart during an "After Christmas" sale...if I recall correctly...I gave a dollar for these!
*
*
*
*
Are you ready for a warm, friendly autumn dinner?
*
Ahhh...
*
Autumn...Sweet Autumn!!!
*
Well my friends...I'm so happy that you came by for a visit today! I hope that you enjoyed this "Autumn...Sweet Autumn" tablescape! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I'd love to visit with you!!!

Oh yes, and before I forget...I finally finished my third and last project for the "Three Projects in Three Weeks" challenge! Yeeeehawwww!!!
*
This challenge was issued by dear, sweet Barb over at Treasures From The Heart!
*
Thank you, Barb...this was so much fun!!! I know that I'm a couple of days late at getting this out...I do apologize but I DID FINISH!!! Hehe!
*
Love ya'll,
Chari
*
PS...I did something a little differently this post! Could you tell? Hehe! I usually use the flash setting on my camera when taking photos...this time I took the photos without using the flash! I really was surprised at the difference...a more natural look! However, I also found out that the lighting better be good to do this! So what do ya'll think?
*
*
I'm so envious of your bird dishes! And they look so perfect with your pretty cloth napkins and leaf napkin rings. Such an elegant table setting! As for the flash, I never use it. I'd rather have an overhead light on than use the flash. I like yours much better without it.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Your centerpiece is awesome, but your bird dishes are just absolutely stunning. What a gorgeous tablescape. I think this one is my favorite of all. Just love it. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteChari,
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your tablescape. And the dishes!!! Girl, they are fabulous. I love the little birdies and even the colors. I'm not usually one for fall colors, but you are right, they make you feel warm & cozy. And you are right about taking photos without flash, you need good light. But the photos do look more natural. Your tablescape is beautiful as always. It's finally starting to feel like fall here. I hope it lasts. Take care & I'll be talking with you again soon.
Kim

It all looks wonderful, my friend. The lighting is good. It doesn't look like you have a lot of light there, but you probably do to not use a flash. I like the cup on the red leaf plate! Sweet! You worked hard on all of this!

That way more people can see your project if they are still out and about.
hugs
Barbara jean
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw your little bird dishes AND the cups! I just got those same dishes... but didn't know there were also cups.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to find salt and pepper shakers that look as if they match, but the markings on the bottom are different.
I actually have three extra plates that I was going to return. Two have very tiny little chips (one on the rim and the other under the rim) and both are hard to see. In fact I only noticed them after I felt them.
Let me know if you are interested and I will put pictures of them on my website. (I will let you have them for what I paid for them)
ALSO, if anyone has the matching CUPS in the four different patterns... please let me know.
I was going to use them in a tablescape... as soon as I found the cups!
Beautiful! Charming and warm, I loved it. I added as a follower, Stop by and visit me soon.
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Chari, I absolutely LOVE your decorating and design and your blog! I am so glad that I found it. Everything is so fantastic, really!

Wow, this is a pretty tablescape! I really love it all, the unique dishes and candlestick holders are the best! And I love the placemats and the napkin holders, and your linens are beautiful too. Great job on the centerpiece creation!
ReplyDeletePerfect Fall tablescape!
All the best,
Eileen
yup--the photos came out very nicely. I love bird things and love the bird dishes!! What a deal you got!! not sure what kind of bird they are since chickadees (at least mine) have white bellies. I love the fall colors you have used and your centerpiece is smashing! I like the red of the walls with the white of the table. I agree--such a nice color for fall AND Christmas. I had a red living room for a while and I loved it....but I found my room was a bit too dark for my comfort and I ended up painting it after a couple of years. Wish I had a bit more light in my house!
ReplyDeleteLove that iron centerpiece! You have done a great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table! I love the linens and accessories, and especially the lovely bird plates.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know I changed my bog name to Life As Lori

ReplyDeleteJust saw that you won the $25 Hobby Lobby card from Sherri! Congratulations friend!! I know how you love that store!!! Can't wait to see what you buy with your fun money!! I wonder if it will be pretties for another tablescape! You do such a fabulous job on your settings Chari- How long does it take you? It would take me forever to get mine to have the look of perfection like yours does!!

I love your bird plates, they are divine! Perfect colors for a fall tablescape too :) The apothecary was so unique and beautifully decorated. Loved everything about your setting.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm back again gazing at your beautiful table! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. You left a comment on my blog that asked about a fall banner I had made this season. I did not stamp the design, instead I found a stencil at Hobby Lobby that I used. I hope that helps. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe table looks great...of course. I do really like the napkins and the maple leaf rings.
ReplyDeleteHi Chari,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for you sweet comments.
Wow, your dining room is beautiful! I love the rich and vibrant colors, and your table setting is perfect for Fall! The centerpiece is very clever, everything looks great. Aren't you just the best bargain hunter - can't believe the prices you paid on those delightful plates (love the birdies - terrific!)
Have a wonderful weekend, hope you'll come back soon for another visit.

Heidi - Heart and Home
~WOW!!!! How gorgeous is this table of yours Chari! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe bird dishes are just simply my favorite that I have seen anywhere around. GORGEOUS job on every single detail here. Love the amazing centerpiece too! Sigh....:)
If I see the other bird plates at Marshalls you're looking for I'll mail them to you okay. I'll keep my eyes peeled for them.
Many Blessings and Happy Fall!
~Love ya girl, ~Melissa :)
Your fall table...5*! I love the bird dishes. Now for my thoughts on faux fireplaces...that is what I have in my own dining room, and I love it! Go for it, it adds the same look of warmth and you still have the mantel to display things on. Be sure to let me know what you do.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. I guess I'm posting the 75th comment on this post! Chari, you have been a very busy girl!!! Everything, I do mean everything, looks fantastic! I also like the photos w/o the flash. Pretty, pretty post my dear Colorado friend.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
Zuzu
What a beautiful table Chari! I love it. I especially like that I got to listen to Louie Armstrong while I looked through your pics! *hehe*
ReplyDeleteMiss Chari~ What a stunning setting!
ReplyDeleteI love The "MAX!" It's easy to succumb to all his temptations! The dishes there at TJ Max are quite a find, especially when you can get collections that marry as beautifully as yours. I'll have to keep my eye out for some birdy treasures.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Ahhh, I just can't get enough of this table and the warm colors. It's just too perfect for the season. Thank you for your sweet comment on my fall decorations, I'm really having fun getting into the autumn spirit. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteI've seen alot of pretty tablescapes so far for last week's TT, but I would have to give the Tablescape prize to you. This one is gorgeous! I LOVE that "apothecary jar", and would order one now, if I could! Love those plates too. I'll keep an eye out in my TJM, Marshalls/Home Goods, and let you know if they have them.
ReplyDeleteFlash or no flash your photos turn out fantastic either way!
