It's Thrifty Thursday!!!

Hello my friends! So happy that you could join me for Thrifty Thursday!

This fun filled Thursday event is hosted by Leigh over at Tales From Bloggeritaville! Why don't you pay Leigh a visit today and see what "thrifty find" she has and while you're there you can visit all of the other Thrifty Thursday participants! Thank you, Leigh...for hosting Thrifty Thursday!!!

Today's Thrifty Find...???
*
The little treasure that I'm about to show you today was a really "thrifty" find! In fact, it was free...can't get any thriftier than that! Hehe! My honey brought two of these little "thingy's" home with him. He found them while he was cleaning out some of his Dad's property.
*
I just love it...there's only one problem though...I don't know what it is?
*
Now...I know it is a "vintage" something? I mean...it just looks old...and...I've never seen one! So if you know what this "thingy" is used for...I'd be much obliged if you would enlighten me!
*
** *

This is my furbaby...Little Boy! He's the most curious cat that I've ever seen...as soon as I brought my newest little treasure "thingy" outside to take a photo...he was right there!!! Hehe!
*
*

My "thingy" really is awesome...it folds up!!! I just can't imagine what it was used for...but I think I know what I'll be using it for!
*
A plant stand for our backyard patio!!!

*
A photo of the flowers that run down the side of our home. They are called Bouncing Bet or Soapwort! I just love these pretty white flowers...they have just a tinge of lavender...so pretty!
*
Well my friends...I'm so happy that you stopped by today! Please leave me a comment and let me know that you were here...I would love to visit with you!!!
*
Ohhh yes....and if you know what this "thingy" is...please let me know! Hehe!
*
Love ya'll,
Chari

  1. Chari, I don't know what it is except a plant stand, but I think they are perfect for that. What a neat treasure. Love it and free is the very best kind. Hugs, Marty

  2. Chari--- I've seen those thingies before, but don't have a clue as to what they are. A plant stand sounds good to me!!! How's your week going? Are you back to normal? We had hail last night - the first we have seen here for about 25 years. Fortunately, it didn't do much damage - our good car was in the garage, and the flowers and garden look o.k. today. Take care and have a good week. Sally

  3. Another thought, Chari! Did those things hold a clothes basket or wet clothes at the clothes line? Sally

  4. Hi Chari,
I think it would be great for a plant stand but I don't know what it would be used for.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.
    Take care,

  8. Neato! I don't know what it is either but I bet you'll think of plenty of uses. Hey, you could put magazines in it!

  9. Looks like Gloria came to the rescue again! That girl knows everything!! And you got blessed with 2 of them- how fun!!
Looking forward to seeing just how you used your vegetable stands!

We are leaving tomorrow for NM- I made my first trek up the stairs in almost a month! Bill wouldn't let me go up till he was here to make sure I was ok. My sis said he should just carry you up- I laughed and said "yea, then instead of a bum foot- we would both end up breaking something as we tumble down the stairs!"

I got my bag packed for the trip , went back down the stairs, and that's all the energy I have for today- bummer!!!

Are you done with your FIL property or is there still more to do?

  13. I was thinking it was a plant stand too, Chari, until Gloria cleared the mystery up!! A vegetable bin! How cool. One of them would be neat in your kitchen for...well, vegetables!! I used to have a hanging wire basket in my kitchen that I stored onions and garlic in (no, it didn't smell!!).

And using the other one for a plant stand sounds fab!! Lucky girl! Gloria said she saw one selling for $145.00???!!! Wow!!

Have a great weekend, Chari!! :-)

  19. It is a fold up laundry basket. You could keep your laundry in there as your were hanging it on the line. Great find on your husband's part...nice to bring it home from his dad's.

  20. CHari,

I agree it was a laundry item. It does make the collest plant stand...or put a tub in t and have a beer tub , or sods on ice. Cute! I love that! Well done! Thank you for linking up to Thrifty Thursday this week! Be sure and drop by to see what the other thrifty participants are showing off. Some really great finds!
    Thanks again!

  22. Wow Chari! I just read Gloria's comment. Free is great, but two freebies that are worth $145 each!!! You have taught that husband of yours well. I'm so glad he didn't just toss these. They'll make great plant containers. laurie

  28. Chari I was actually thinking like alot of the girls here, a clothes basket for outside so you don't have to bend over, or for veggies! Of course our resident antiquer Gloria would have the correct answer, I think she owns just about every antique possible LOL! I do believe one of those would look great in my country kitchen! I'll keep an eye out for one.
Girl, I got the iron bed up the steps today, I do believe it weighs 700 pounds!! I'm gonna get a mattress hopefully tomorrow and get her all made up to post! She's a beauty!! Have a great night sweetie!! xoxo

  29. It's almost like an old egg basket, but on legs! I can see it holding veggies, although for laundry it would work great -- and as long as the legs are strong, those wire jobbies will make excellent patio plant stands. And they are already white!

  31. Hi Chari,i think it might have been used to keep soiled clothes in the bathroom as it's foldable, but it will work as a plant holder too. Those flowers are v.pretty.
