Yesterday I decided to do a Cloche Party preview..."Cherub in a Jar"! You can scroll down and take a peek if you'd like. Today I have another pre-party preview...

*"Bird's Nest Under Glass" *

This was a Spring vignette that I did for my dining room table!

*"Bird's Nest Under Glass" Cloche

I found this glass cloche on a pedistal at Hobby Lobby last Spring. It was on sale for $7...I just couldn't resist!!! The sweet little bird's nest was purchased at Dollar General for $3...I just love the pretty colored bird eggs! I tied a blue & white checked organza ribbon around the handle of the cloche...and Voila!!!

The "How To's" of this Vignette

Since this was a vignette to celebrate the new coming Spring season...I wanted to use lots of greenery and some pretty pastel colors. I decided to use a pastel rose print placemat for the base of the vignette. I placed the cloche in the center of the placemat and added a planter of ivy behind the cloche for some needed greenery. Then I placed my mercury glass goblets to each side of the cloche...and two silver candleholders with white candles to the left side of the vignette. Hmmm...now I needed something on the right side to bring balance...I think this Debbie Mumm bunny plate works well! What do you think? I remembered my little glass egg and added a cute little bunny figurine to it...then placed this to the left side of the vignette. Since it is glass and transparent it doesn't throw the balance of the vignette off! And...for the finale, I brought in two cast iron birds and placed them in front of the cloche!

Do you see the pretty glittery egg that is hanging by a ribbon from one of the candleholders? I found these darling eggs at Hobby Lobby. They have the sweetest vintage pictures of children on them! I just fell in love with them the moment I saw them!

My "Artsy" photo

A close up photo of the glass egg with the bunny figurine. Isn't this little bunny just darling...he's holding a little ladybug in his paws! Hehe!

I've been learning how to make mosaics...I've had so much fun!!!

If this is a preview, what are you doing for the show??!! I think the cherub apothecary jar is lovely on your table! The sweet little birds and bunny cloches are adorable. So what program are you using to make your mosaics? They look really nice. :-) Sue

Chari, I love it. Everytime I see your header I drool over your pedestal cloche with the birds nest inside. This vignette is just so beautifully put together. You are such a doll to show everyone how they can create such a gorgeous setting in their own home. I am taking notes and trying to learn. I can't wait to see what else you have. Thanks a million for promoting the party. Hugs, Marty

Chari,
It's so gorgeous!! I really love the birds nest and the mosaic, way to go girl! I am learning slowly, but mine don't look so hot yet. My son and DIL went to visit her parents in southern Wi, so I am a little sad, but I will see them Sat. and Sun. before they go. It's so nice of you to promote Marty's party too, she's such a nice gal. Hugs, Cindy

Chari,
Is Marty giving you a commission? lol. You definitely have the knack at decorating with your cloche. I don't have the creativity or the patience (most of the time). I can't wait till Friday to see what everyone has to share.

Love your Artsy shots! Very creative.
I am looking forward to seeing all the entries in the cloche party, but since I don't have a cloche I won't be taking part. I don't think cutting off the top of a Diet Coke bottle and upending it would work! (Only kidding!)

I saw a lovely cloche at HomeGoods last week -- but too expensive!

Great pictures! I'm having trouble photographing into glass - things inside just don't show up very well. Looking forward to Friday when we get to see what you have new under glass. Sally

Hello Chari, :)
Look at all your pretty cloches, birdies and jars! Love them all! It's so sweet and special the way you made the mosaics too.
~Great work!
I really want to join the party but don't have a cloche.
At least not yet...:)
I may scramble and see what I can come up with. LOL!

Regarding our e-mail yesterday.
I do know what you mean about the long car rides...Oh my goodness I agree with you. They can be exhausting and painful for so many of us.
I'm not sure I can even count how many we've done in the ten years we've been married but it must be at least close to fifty by now. Yikes!

~Good Luck and Enjoy!!!!
I'm praying for a safe and wonderful vacation for you my friend.
Love ya, ~Melissa :)

PS If you have time and can come by tomorrow I'm posting my TT and FF post finally. It's grape themed and I know how much you like them. If not i understand. :)

WIth all your cloche preview you must have a momma mia surprise waiting in the background for the Cloche party!

You know you make me just a tad jealous everytime you talk of those wonderful grandchildren of yours!! One of these days I'll be able to match you if I will ever become a grammy!! You have a fantastic time!

I am running very slow these days and just trying to take it easy- you know how hard that can be! We did get the solar charged fence finished for the bees yesterday and I finished planting the rest of my rosebushes. Oh I can't wait till they start blooming- I will probably have to wait till next year for a good show!

Your a blessing Chari!
