Happy Mother's Day!!!
A Mother's Day table prepared for two in my French Country dining room.

"A Mama is a girl's best friend"
I will be spending Mother's Day with my husband this Sunday! I sure wished that I could celebrate with my Mama but she lives in Texas!

The Placesetting...
*****
Today, in honor of my husband's mother Mary Alice, I have set the table with her china!
This beautiful china is so perfect for a Mother's Day table! It looks so delicate with its petite pink roses! Please click on the photos to see the details.
*****
This fine china pattern is called "Roselet" and was made by Harmony House (Japan). Roselet, so named for it's entertwining band of pink roses. The roses are bordered on the top and bottom by a very delicate pattern done in a gold color. A beautiful silver dances so sweetly around the rim of each piece!
*****
I count it such a blessing to have my mother-in-law's beautiful china...I will treasure it for the meantime and someday pass it down to her only granddaughter Danielle!
*****
"Her children rise up and call her blessed..."
Proverbs 31:28
The charger plate is called "lace" from JC Penneys. I just love this pretty lace charger and have used it for so many tablescapes. It's a heavy plate but the designs and pretty scalloped border give it a delicate feel. I think it frames the Roselet china beautifully!!!
The Table Linens...
*****
This beautiful white lace tablecloth was made in Germany. In the first photo you can see the beautiful scalloped edging! This was a gift given to me by my mama!!! The damask napkins were my mother-in-laws!
*****
"Mama's always spoil their girl's with great gifts"
This beautiful etched crystal goblet also belonged to my mother-in-law! I'm using it for a serving of fresh berries.
The Teacup and Saucer...
The Stemware...

An etched crystal water glass and a goblet for some sparkly!

The Flatware...
*****
The flatware also belonged to my mother-in-law. It's so beautiful...I love it!!!
The Centerpiece...
*****
Ohhh noooo...I'm using my apothecary jar again! Hehe!!! Ohhh, I have really enjoyed decorating my apothecary jar...please be patient with me if you've seen this before...I will tire of it eventually!!! Hehe!!!
*****
I placed a white cherub in the jar...it's nestled into a white lace doily and some tiny white flowers. The apothecary jar sits atop a silver handled tray (one of my recent thrift store finds). I wrapped a long silvery beaded tassel around the bottom of the jar and placed a frenchy silver ornament on the tray in front of the jar. An ivy serves for the background and brings a little green into the picture. I then placed mercury glass goblets and silver candleholders to each side.

Your mother and I are the same age. I was born October 8, 1936. I know she would have appreciated your tablescape so much. It is interesting, because I was about to tell you that when Maryalice sets a lovely table for me..I am so proud of her. Your mother and my daughter have the same name. I ran the word together and your mother's is serarated. I named her after her Great Grandmother and her Great, Great Grandmother.
