Guess What??? It's Snowing!!!
When I got up this morning and looked out of my window....this is what I saw! Oh yes...SNOW!!! It's kind of difficult to tell by this picture but that glistening white stuff was really coming down! Can you believe it? It's October 23...and we're actually still in the midst of Autumn here in Colorful Colorado as you can see....our trees are just beginning to turn their Autumn shades! Oh well...as they say here in Colorado, "If you're tired of the weather, just stick around...it'll change!" Hehe!!!

What??? You really don't want to see snow pictures from just looking through the window??? Oh my...okay, let me go get my heavy robe on then...I'm still in my jammies'...and a stocking cap! You people are really making me work for this one, aren't you!!! Hehehe!!!!
A view from our front door! Oh, it seems like just a "skiff" of snow has fallen but wait...just look at all the snow on the railing in the bottom of the photo...hehe!!!

Here is a photo taken from our back door. For those of you familiar with Rate My Space, this view is what I consider to be "Picture Postcard Perfect" when we're covered in snow....I have a photo of such a scene on RMS!

Another photo from our back door....as you can see, our trees are still trying to turn colors! Between the wind and the snow, we'll probably lose all of the leaves now! I'm pouting!!!

Ohhhhh nooooo....there goes my pink petunias!!! I totally agree with the still changing leaves and the pink petunias....as pretty as it is, it's too early for snow!!!

Here's an old milk can that I painted and placed at our back door! It's a little sun faded...I think I need to touch it up! Brrrrrr....I had to wipe the snow off of our name with my fingers....it's cold here!!!

You bet ya!!! My plans for this evening include: a nice warm fire in our little wood burning stove (already have that one covered...hehe!) a hot cup of cocoa or a hot toddy (I may opt for the 2nd since I have a cold...poor me!) and my honey Russell to snuggle up with!!! Sounds like a plan!!!
It's still snowing...as time goes by the glistening white stuff gathers more and more...as you can see in this next photo! And actually as I'm writing this (4 hours later), it's still snowing!!! Maybe if the snow continues to collect on everything, I'll go out and take more photos for ya'll! Or maybe not...it's sooooo cold and I have a cold!!! I really should stay in by the warm fire!!!

Well my friends....just thought you'd enjoy a little peek at our "First Snow" in Colorful Colorado! I do have to admit....I'm just like a little girl when we get our first snow...with my nose pressed against the window looking out at the beautiful glistening scenery...my warm breath fogging up the window....I still get the urge to write in the fog...hehe!!! But I don't....I hate washing windows...hehe!!! But our first snow always brings a bit of excitement....an excitement that I wanted to share with you!!! Stay warm ya'll.....
Love ya,
Chari

B-R-R-R-R-R! You are so cute, with your excitement over the snow. And what a dedicated blogger-going out into the cold for pix. Well, it is kind of exciting -- as long as it's not where I am!
ReplyDeleteWow! Snow! It's about 70 degrees here in Arkansas today. Your in Colorado Right? I've been there twice. It's so pretty, I remember going up on Pikes Peak, it was freezing! Of course I didn't have on warm clothes. Enjoy the snow! Kristen

ReplyDeleteHey Chari - I've been worried about you. Cyber soup headed your way - feel better soon. Are all of y'all sick - Gloria, Laurie and you? I hope there aren't any germs floating around blogville!! I recognize the lamp pic from RMS. I tried to post earlier today, but it said that the whole blog was "unavailable"! I thought, oh no, this is just like RMS!!
ReplyDeleteYour snow pics are great - thanks for sharing them with us - I'm like KristenB - it was in the mid-60's here today!! Just enough for a light jacket!!
If you feel like coming over for a visit, come to my house - THAT bench finally came in and I have the pics posted.

ReplyDeleteOh my word...the S word!!! lol lol I can't believe it...I love to see it at other people's house but I am allergic to that stuff...down here if we see one little flake the whole town goes crazy and we feel the need to buy up every loave of bread and every jug of milk we can find and our cars just skid all over the road and hit the ditch! lol lol Enjoy your snow girl!
ReplyDeleteHi Chari! I woke up to the same snow down here- did I think about taking pictures? Nope! I was too into mourning the end of autumn and thinking about all my pretty plants that are no longer! I knew it must come but....so soon!!! I proceeded to use the day making applesauce!

Chari - I am calling all my blogging buddies in asking for a big favor! Would you drop by my blog and read my contentment therapy blog and about a giveaway. Would you consider joining me in this 30 day therapy (a Mr. Linky link is at very bottom of the blog) and leaving a note on your blog to inform others about it - or email friends- I would love for this to be great time for lots of us. I don't have a huge following on my blog but would like to get the word out. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions too! Thanks so much!

CHari- You have my prayers! Thank you for sharing with me - it is always helpful to get a little reminder of what we need to pray for each other!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming over and joining the contentment therapy session!!
I have hopefully answered a few more of the questions that have been brought up in the comment section in my lastest blog entry.
If it still isn't clear would let me know- DH is always saying I am always somewhat vague (sp)-I know what I am trying to say but it doesnt always come out too clear!!
Looking forward to seeing what this looks like in others lives as we start this 30 day journey together!!

ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Chari - I hope you're feeling better? Don't take this the wrong way, but it is sooo unlike you to be this quiet!! ;-) I hate to think you are still down with the flu - have you been to the dr or are you planning on fighting this on your own?? Either way, I hope you are up and at 'em real soon - I miss hearing from you.
ReplyDeleteYou ought to go over to Rose's (santamaker) she is doing this cool recipe swap thing - I bet you'd have some great recipes - I only had 2 - it was so pathetic - I'm not much of a cook.
Talk with you later.
Lynette
The snow is so pretty and bright, Chari, but I don't think I want to feel the cold yet. I heard you haven't been feeling well. I have been praying for your quick recovery. How are you now? I hope you are feeling much better. Please send us a note when you get your strenght back. We are worried. Luv ya!....Christine
