My Newest Treasure Find...American Living Dinnerware

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Today I wanted to share with you one of my newest treasure finds...a new set of dinnerware called "Meredith" by American Living.
*

Queens Ware by Wedgewood (photo courtesy of Jacqueline)
*
I have to tell you...I have been "eyeing" this beautiful set of dishes...Queens Ware by Wedgewood...ever since I seen them over at Jacqueline's Cabin and Cottage blog. I borrowed this beautiful photo from Jacqueline's blog so that I could show you this dreamy dish pattern. Thank you, Jacqueline! I just adore everything about Queens Ware! The soft creamy color...the scalloped shell edging on the rims of the dishes...and the beautiful embossed pattern! They really are lovely! Anyway, I have searched high and low...and have found that this beautiful Queens Ware pattern is very difficult to find and it is very expensive. Just my luck! Hehe!
*
But...I did find a lovely dish pattern that is very similar to Queens Ware!!!
*

Here we are in my french country dining room.
*
I thought I would share a few photos of the spring decor in this room. I kept the spring table centerpiece very simple...continuing the theme of the white ironstone that decorates the buffet...onto the dining room table.
*
A white ironstone soup tureen sits atop a large white charger plate...accompanied by a silver oval tray. A couple of iron "fleur de lis" finials and a spring bird can be seen to the left of the tureen...
*
and on the right side...a small cloche with a single green apple.
*

*
As you can see...I also used a cloche filled with green apples on the buffet. I just love the splash of this pretty "spring green" color with the all the white ironstone!
*

*
Ahhh...white ironstone...simplistic beauty!
*

*
A couple of photos of my dining room buffet. The sun was whaning...so I turned the buffet lamps on for a little light. I love how the buffet looked bathed in the soft, golden light! If you would like to see more of the buffet....just click HERE.
*

*

*
American Living "Meredith" Dinnerware...
*
Here they are! My newest treasure find! Okay...I know that I need another set of dishes like I need a hole in the head...but I really couldn't resist their charm!!! And...they are very similar to my beloved Queens Ware by Wedgewood!
*
This beautiful set of dinnerware comes from JC Penneys. I really did get a great deal on them. They were on sale and then I had a 30% discount coupon to boot! Yeeehawwww! I purchased two sets...making a five piece place setting for eight people. I only gave a total of $56 for both sets...can't beat that!
*

*
Ohhh...I love, love, LOVE this pattern!!! The rims are scalloped and have the same shell like pattern as the Queens Ware....and all the lovely embossing just makes me swoon! Hehe! If you look close, you will see that the embossed pattern is made up of leaves or berry looking vines...and pretty bows with trailing ribbon! The entire design has a very lacy looking effect...don't you think?
*

*
A Place Setting for Five...
*
10 1/2" dinner plate
8 1/4" salad plate
5 3/4" soup bowl
teacup
and saucer
*

*
I added a green apple to the soup bowl for the photos...pretty, I think!
*
This dinnerware is porcelain and pure white in color...unlike the cream color of the Queens Ware...but the white really does go better with all the other whites that I have!
*

*
The teacup and saucer.
*

*

*

*
Ahhh...gotta love those "ruffly" edges!
*
Well my friends...thank you so much for coming by and taking a peek at my new "Meredith" dinnerware. I hope to do a full tablescape with these pretty dishes soon!
*

Hi Chari, Nothing is prettier to me than a table set in white. Your new dishes are beautiful and you will get so much use out of them. I have a similar pattern bought from JC Penny several years ago and they are so fun to mix and match with. I hope you will join my new party. Take care.

These are beautiful dishes, Chari! I love the design and, of course, who doesn't love some ruffley goodness! : ) I want to get some new dishes and I'm thinking of going white, but I'm going to wait until we move. I've been eyeing some white pieces at Home Goods and the thrift store, but, so far, I've restrained myself!

Those are beautiful dishes. You did really well on the price, I would have been ecstatic as well!

Luckly lady is there any Irish in your veins? HA! Enjoy your newest find. I'll be enjoying the view as you tablescape your French Country dining room for all of us to see!
Fondly,

Chari, your dining room certainly says spring! The green apples give it away. Congrats on the new dishes. They are quite elegant and will be so very versatile. The curviness is so refreshing with all the sharp edges we see nowadays! Beautiful as usual.

Hey sweet lady,
The dishes are very lovely! I know you're going to share some gorgeous tables with us. The green is my color this spring! Seems that I am drawn to it although I don't have it in my house except for pops of color along with a beautiful yellow. Still working on things. I need you here to help!
:-)

Hope you're having a fabulous week!

Hi Chari,
Oh my, where do I even begin on listing all the ooohs and ahhhs, I looove this, or that. LOL

White is fabulous! I've long desired a set of white dishes. I kick myself for buying the Christopher Madden one's in a french yellow a few years ago. I still like them but I was so torn between white and yellow then. American Living is one of my favorite lines! It's actually made quiet nicely and that is a rarity today.

You could be here all day reading my comment so I'll just tell you few of my like/loves are:
Ironstone pitchers....ooooh
Fluer d' lis finials....aaah
Ruffly edges...Loove
White birds....ooooh
Enormous cloche...ahhhh
American Living..Oh I already said that

See, told you, lol!

Talk to you soon. Hope you're having a fabulous day!

Blessings,
Shanna
